I've completed the chopper quest looong ago and I'm pretty far in the game, soon moving too Pripyat.
I've found so far that we can spawn him somehow with the debug console.
I've edited the D:\Program Files\S.T.A.L.K.E.R. Call of Pripyat\gamedata\configs\debug\xrs_debug_tools.ltx file, set shit to =true.
Still I get nothing in my game, no debug UI, nothing. How do I spawn that fucker? Or at least the Compass artifact?

Well when i say "new" missions i mean tweaked.
You're up against freedom instead of mercs, and the usual npcs you fight are neutral to you.

Overall i like it so far. IIRC it's based on RMA, but i never played that so idk if it adds any story elements on top of RMA. There are definitely some new Barkeep missions though, did a few of the special ones and a "find the item" one i don't remember in vanilla SoC.
I haven't even gotten to the bandit base so it was available right when i got to the bar.

Guns feel/look good (with a few dips in quality) and it has some nice graphical additions, i like the new npc models.

Fought a burer in this mod, good god it was a fucking pain, probably my biggest complaint. Haven't seen if it adds any other mutants from CoP or other games.

had to go and talk to Noah so i picked up a squad of 3 mercs in the dead city and then headed north.

The first man we lost somewhere in the red forest, after fighting off an ambush in the dark by burers and psydogs he ran off to fight a pack of wolves behind us buying us precious seconds to escape

the second fell in Jupiter, after clearing the freedom base for a safe spot in the north to resupply for the journey back, he was dropped instantly by a group of zombified stalkers who were attracted by the sound of gunfire. i grabbed his patch to remember him by.

The final companion fell in the last stretch. shortly after entering Zaton a blowout struck, as we sprinted to safety we were unaware of our surroundings and as we turned the corner we ran into not one. but two psuedogiants,with hardly any ammo to spend i left my final squadmember to his fate and watched from the inside of the waste processing plant as the psuedogiants tore him apart.

finally i made my way to noah where instead of a reward i was asked to go and collect 5 pieces of dog food

Thanks to the anon last night who gave me the ironsights fix. I've been fixing up the weapons in the weapon soup pack and it's going extremely smoothly.

I fixed the m16a1 and fixed the absolute mess that was the Thompson. The Thompson is bare bones as fuck and doesn't really have anything other than the texture and mesh, but I did learn a lot from having to mess with so many variables.

Currently doing the MG36 and I'm unsure about the upgrade path. Actually looks pretty good sofar sans the blue sights due to the texture being the non scoped G36.

I'll fuck with the STG 44 (unscoped) next and then the K98, afterwards going to check out the m14 in the hope that it's the basic one and not the one with a scope.

Honestly, this is the first mod I've played in SoC besides AA2 where I get superb performance.

AMD Radeon 6850 + i7-2600k. My PC is a little old, but despite how it looks, I get solid 50-60 FPS consistently. Sometimes it dips to 30-45 here and there so far, but otherwise it's really good.

If you're playing CoM, then every mutant is about 5x as fast as you are and usually a hell of a lot stealthier too. It's not an RPG, everything is based on the player's skill, not the character's stats. I don't know, I shot a pseudodog in the torso 5 times with a 7.62x54 and the fucker was barely limping, the only things that you can one-shot are regular ass dogs and humans with a head shot (if they're armor isn't great). It takes 4 RPGs to kill a Pseudogiant, that's a little fucking excessive.

In CoC with STCoP you can easily head shot dogs with just pistol, but that's because they rather run around in circles and take ages to run to you(while also doing it in turns), have then been CoM tier aggressive and fast thought, it would be a reasonable challenge increase, taking into account the price of everything in CoM. The quest to have me meet the Doctor just has the quest marker constantly lead me back and fourth between the research institute and the garbage.

Finished the Mg36 and began work on the revolvers.

Gonna take a break and try out shoker mod because it looked cool.

If the animations are all alright, when I fix the Hud models and zero them in, I may upload a revolver pack on Saturday/Sunday. The only question is whether to make .44 ammo for the model 29's basically just special .357 slightly reskinned UI and stats wise.

Anybody here interested in a small revolver pack?

I'll throw in the dogshit barely animated mg36 and Thompson, the M16a1's which work well, and hopefully the ironsight SVD and SVU if I get around to it.

Second is that stalker uses .ogf files (the only time you will ever see them) to store 3d meshes and animation files, and just use a dds texture over that for weapons skins.

In the interest of making their mods work, they stuff tons of shit into every .ogf file they can in order to save space and make things run smoother, so inevitably you will have weapons whose animations, mesh, and texture come from other weapons.

All the M16's share almost the same files so it works, the Thompson originally has animations from the ak74 and An-94 from its original mod, and the MG36 uses animations hidden in files from a G36 that cannot be put into any game with another G36 easily.

Plus you cannot tell what info you need based on the .ltx animation sayings because they're hidden in .ogf files which may be named anything.

Zeroing my mosin took 30 seconds. Zeroing a gun in this game takes an hour to a few hours if you don't know what you're doing.

The Ak74 Hud OMF file is missing the animations when you port the model over, and only works when you use the animations from the ak74 contained in its OGF file for some of the animations.

Bandit, Army, duty, and sunrise ones are a bit different, but all exos without a run get the servo motor upgrade.

And yes, you don't need cardan to do it for you anymore. In fact, the only one who can do it at the beginning of the game is Forester, but he cleans your pockets out for upgrades.

Also, does anybody else notice that cardan is always fucking sleeping in their game? I haven't been able to talk to him or interact with him once. He's just asleep.

I like the trading them in idea, even the description says "showing the patch to the right person could open doors", but I'm not willing to get into programming that. I will make new items and make people drop them though.

For right now, I just see patches as a way of tracking your kills, which is why higher rank patches should stand out. I think I'll start with the limited rank patches, and then I can always go full autist on it later.

Another thing that might be cool, is to have the high rank bandits and maybe loners have backpatches that you can see on their armor. Like just copy/paste the bandit commander armor but add on a back patch that only the NPCs of veteran+ rank get or something. I dunno.

It's finally done. CoC Warfare, Monolith, eliminated every other faction from the Zone entirely.

Infidel bravery ranking, lowest to highest:

8. Freedom
Dumb hippies lost their foothold in Army Warehouses and Yantar and fled south, but it seems their bandit buddies wouldn't give them any territory, they died like dogs early and pathetically in truck cemetery.

7. Bandits
With their only friends in Freedom gone, they were already almost wiped out by the time I got to them. Clear Sky took over their main base and the remnants hid out in Darkscape until I got around to finishing them off.

6. Mercenaries
Weak showing, didn't try very hard to recapture territory after losing their main base in Lost City. Poked around into Army Warehouses a bit and retook Lost City once, but got wiped out permanently next time.

5. Military
Cowards who rely way too much on Agroprom bases and the kindness of Duty and Ecologists sheltering them in their territory. Good fighters, but no balls at pushing back into Monolith territory.

4. Loners
Proactive about working together with Clear Sky to retake territory. Took back an earlier completely conquered Cordon from me more times than I can remember.

3. Duty
Very persistent, these guys really love Rostok and Army Warehouses, and would hide out and recuperate for a while wherever they could, usually Garbage and Truck Cemetary, before mounting brave counteroffensives to retake back their main bases. Weren't too concerned with pushing outside their safety zone too far away from Rostok, though.

2. Ecologists
Either Sakharov invented a cloaking device or they recruited a team of ninjas - these fucking eggheads somehow managed to sneak up beyond a completely airtight north (Lost City, Pripyat under my control) and COMPLETELY take over Generators and Chernobyl NPP not once, but twice! They were also generous about housing down-on-their-luck allied factions within their own territory, giving them time to recouperate and shielding them from the Monolith's righteous fury.

1. Clear Sky
These commandos were constantly playing cat and mouse with my forces, and taking back lost territory on whatever map I wasn't currently on almost as fast as I could chase them. They swept the whole lower Swamp -> Agroprom -> Garbage -> Dark Valley -> Darkscape -> Cordon -> Swamp circle behind my back, retaking everything almost as fast as I could chase them, and seemingly always keeping their eye on the main Monolith threat instead of petty infighting.

A good resistance effort spearheaded by Clear Sky and Ecologists, but futile in the end. All hail the Monolith.

Stability was good, I only crashed about 10 times over the whole playthrough I'd say. Not noticeably any more unstable than stock 1.4.16.

The CoC story line is worth playing through once, it's pretty barebones-explore all the undergrounds, turn off scorcher and radar, go to pripyat hotel I think then go die to the wish granter or continue the story like SoC, you go through the sarcophagus, cnpp killing shit, eventually you get out of there, go to generators, then war lab, get into the war lab, kill c-con again and that's it.

Easily the most polished version with the best game balance and updated weapon models. Only downside is that it removes some of the unique versions of weapons, lynx, predator, etc. and also removes effects from studying manuals.

The unique weapons can be brought back with some pretty basic modding though.

No bullet sponges in CoM. It's the fucking opposite. Even 9x18 to the head is deadly to the low ranked enemies in Cordon and 5.45 will fuck up leather jackets. Shotguns are effective against leather jackets, especially close up. But 9x18 isn't going to cut it against end game armor, while 5.45 ap will.

Mutants are much harder while being fragile. One well aimed and close up buckshot rounds will take down a blind dog, but that dog is moving much faster and is more deadlier than vanilla. It's harder and you have to use the environment if there's a pack, not just pick them off at your leisure.

The real issue is the AI. You can literally stand on a 2 foot tall rock and most enemies can't touch you, unless a dog does it's flying jump attack and knocks your ass down. Shit, the pseudogiant will just meander around in circles and as long as you stay 100m from it, doesn't give a fuck if you unload on it for an hour. It won't even try to close the gap. I think the mutants all have some sort of territorial area they won't leave or something.

They're the same game. CoM, Call of Misery, is a mod for Call of Chernobyl. Start with CoC and some addons from the repo or ModDB and see how you like it. It's freeplay only with a very basic mainquest to link the labs together.

Guns are expensive, and so is ammo. Usually 30 rounds of 5.45 is around 2k IIRC, and an average rifle is like 45-70k, but you get from 3-7k for doing random tasks like clearing an enemy camp or shooting a single dog (if your spawns are set as low as mine are). Maintaining your gear is fucking expensive too, so you need to be a lot more cautious. Especially if you play with daytime radiation like I do.

no, if you really study and compare coc and com in details, you will know that it fixes coc bugs, improves alife and everything else I've mentioned
all.spawn is changed. all suits and rifles are in poor condition. less ammo, less meds and other things. just compare how much things you can get from the bandit armory in the Dark Valley with and without com. I wouldn't call that a full battery. just multiple meds, nothing much really

I never noticed the alife tweaks or all spawn shit. I know if you grab the rifles in the Freedom base through their armory door, they're at like 1% condition, and sure the NPC drops are tweaked, but that's shit that you really need to look for to notice. Then again, I was basically modding CoC to be more realistic and then realized CoM had everything I wanted out of the box almost.

STCoM is sweet, one of the best weapon packs in terms of consistency and detail for any of the games, but I still suggest starting with vanilla CoM to begin with as the OGR integration makes even that significantly better than Misery. STCoM keeps the CoM balance and gunplay, another very good thing, and has a very good translation. Use STCoM later.

Some of these are tweaks, a few are bugfixes. Fair to say that CoC is where most of the fixes are and CoM fixes a few annoyances.

But CoM is a major overhaul, it goes way beyond Misery even. The dude put in a lot of detail.

CoM spawns one each of the repair toolkits in fixed locations, by the way. No one's mentioned it so no one's found them yet I'm guessing but it's in the script for CoM game start. CoC should've done this long ago.

Apparently it's from Misery 2.1 or something, and seems pretty straight forward: NPCs will offer items they have in exchange for items you have in dialogs. Yeah, changes from CoC and Misery are very extensive once you start looking. Spawns are changed drastically from core CoC and even DrX Desolation. You don't run into certain attack types till you pass Rostok, psy for eg. You need gear or items to face those attacks so this makes sense and was good design.

Dude changed just about every static gear spawn on every map. Weapon drops and distributions have been tweaked extensively to sit the new economy. You can find the odd 30-40% modern weapon with some mods already applied in CoM - the weapon drop lists have had a lot of work put in; this is the only place where STCoM suffers by comparison, there is less chance of getting that cool drop though the guns are better. Economy has been adjusted to CoC given you can start almost everywhere.

This has nothing to do with the script - the script may be fucked too, but you're crashing for other reasons. Compare your new configs folder with the CoM configs folder and it's immediately obvious what's up: you've clobbered the DrX dialogs in CoM with a non-DrX dialog file.

You can't just throw files in without comparing them first, so get used to running WinMerge between the mod you're merging and the target BEFORE you copy the files in. Once you've copied them in, you have no idea what you fucked up.

Also, start looking at your logs - they show the problem pretty clearly. You should be posting them here with your requests for script help.

It's cool you're doing these merges, but starting learning and loving WinMerge, senpai.

To be clear, you'll need to merge the dialog files that clash between the mod and CoM. See attached pic for an example. The only line that needs to be copied in from the right (Barter mod) to the left (CoM) is the ec_dialog line. Everything else should be left as in CoM. Likewise for the rest of the conflicting files.

I just merged the shit dude, ec_dialog is the only thing that the mod adds into dialogs, so I don't think I butchered anything. I compared them to the CoM fix2 files unpacked from the database, and if you did the same, you'd see there are like all of two lines changed.

is your "Half broken" folder. The file on the left is pure CoM 1.0d fix2. You fucked up the merge: the right should look exactly as in with just one line added: ec_dialog.

There is no task cancellation in DrX and therefore CoM, that alone is a dead giveaway. Task cancellation was cleaned up in CoC post 1.4.16 so DrX doesn't have it and that's one of the biggest things missing in CoM right now as a consequence.

CoM is not in the db, CoM is loose files in gamedata. You're unpacking base CoC files and clobbering CoM with your merge.

The folder name is just that a folder name. Launching from Steam comes with other benefits like making it easier to run DLL injectors into CoC and CoM. Not that you will understand what that means.

Multi-use items being different sections was a thing in Misery because CoP didn't allow any better. This is no longer in CoM which uses the CoC feature where an item can have multiple uses. You'll need to clean up those tables in the script after looking at the items in CoM.
