We did SaMMIs (player controlled inserters) and it went really, really badly. It's not impossible but generally it just doesn't have a use in SS13.

Alien artifacts and alien combat is very "Work in Progress" and the 0.15 overhaul will improve the game a lot. It's something that has a very wacky difficulty curve. It starts off fine, becomes extremely challenging in the mid game, then entirely trivial in the late game.

And I agree, automatic robot arms wouldn't have much use in SS13 alone, but I feel like some more machines (item sorters, automatic packagers, and box opening machines that would open boxes that coincide with a swiped ID's access) would really do cargo some service.

Money gets more use, cargo can becomes an engineering-like job, miners can make their job less boring by designing ways to automate it, and we would have less "wood, carpet, AME" cargo "projects".

So, is deff mining hardmode or was I just unlucky a few rounds ago? There doesn't seem to be any easy diamonds like on box, and I think at least meta is lenient with their spawns on the main roid. I don't play miner often, so I can't really tell how likely diamonds are on the other maps.

There's no excuse for letting diona or diona nymphs get the best of you as vox trader.

You have flashes, bolas, flashbangs, handcuffs, welder tools, and the ultimate anti-diona weapon: the floral somatoray (on boxstation at least).

If you want guaranteed slave labor, there's a ton of options for setting up to control them. Cuff the NPC nymph as soon as you harvest it, store it in an isolated room with notthing but diona nymph corpses so it's forced to evolve, control it with the somatoray after it's grown.

Or just fucking befriend them and be nice from the very beginning. Especially effective if you befriend one diona before mass producing them, so you can ask it to rootspeak to the newborns and let them know you'll help them out.

I didn't say or hint anything like that, all I said was that you can choose how loyal you are to NT when you make a character.

I just wanted some discussion around if it's possible or not. Lets say sec has antagonized cargo somehow, by doing a search when nothing was going on or acting like dicks to them 4no raisins. It wouldn't be out of the picture that cargo would dislike sec because of it this, and it would make sense if they felt wronged or something. Under the right circumstances, they might even pick up weapons against them. If it all makes sense in-character, should cargo just not because they're not antagonists? Or should they just passive aggresively do something about it, like refusing their orders sabotaging them slightly, but not enough to warrant ahelping?

Catwalks are just really bad. For some reason you can STILL slip on them without magboots on, which means there's never a reason to actually build them when in space because they cost 3 metal rods all in all. I kind of always thought catwalks would have a handrail of some kind, just makes sense to have it so you DON'T slip while walking on them in space.
Maybe I should make an issue on the github for them, because as it is I just feel like they're useless.
it's also a giant peeve of mine that the outside of the station isn't covered in catwalks, especially around maintenance tunnels that link to space. How are you supposed to do station maitenance without anything to stand on?
