I'm just in this game for air RB, i've been playing since 2013.
There've been lots of small improvements, a steady increase in grind and no big changes that substantially improve the experience. All they're working on is how to squeeze out the most money, making the game fun is secondary to that.
I'm pretty much only still playing because i have all the planes i want and can just fuck around.

That depends on what you're better at. Arcade has 5 respawns, so you can accumulate kills more easily.
Another easy way to get easy (though not fast) points in arcade is to sideclimb a bit in a heavy bomber and then read a book or whatever while nuking bases and targets from the orbit.

Your biggest enemy when flying Burgers in arcade is recently fucked up damage model that makes planes in arcade die from single hit from autocannon to fuselage (you just die, with no damage listed), but that goes for all planes, it's just Burgers don't have autocannons on most of their planes, so they still have to accumulate damage or crit.

It's low velocity and does this weird thing now where the rounds puff and do nothing, even if they hit. I used to like it for bomber shitters but the 20mm is a lot less annoying to use now. The K has stupid climb rate and acceleration on WEP too, makes it an all around better aircraft than the G-10 and G-14 while being at the same BR.

I try different things but I see no results. I mean, even when playing patiently behind cover I still get one shot most of the time, however my damage seems random. Whenever I see an enemy tank distracted with one of my team mates I take my time to try hitting him in different places. RNG applies only to round's muzzle velocity, armor strength at round impact and ricochet probability when hitting armor at an angle (which they just hotfixed for many rounds to match real life statistics in the last server update).
The terminal ballistic mechanics are pretty sophisticated and take into account such factors as penetrator material and impact energy (ie. impact velocity and mass of shell), armor material and strength and round diameter/length ratio vs armor thickness.
If you wan't to GIT GUD then I suggest inspecting all the toughest enemy tanks' armors and x-ray their modules so you know where to aim for maximum damage - also start playing realistic because that's the only way to force you start observing your environment by yourself and allows you to stealthy flank enemy groups (which is almost impossible on arcade).

It's like +/-2% for both muzzle velocity and armor strength on impact, so +/-4% RNG variation total when fired at an armor without an angle... comparing that to the +/-25% of penetration variation in WoT makes it seem like peanuts and matches real life variation alot better.

I've grinded all my slav tanks in RB since br 6.0 and I've enjoyed it much more than arcade ever, even with stock tanks - also RB gives 2x Research Points multiplier so arcade actually isn't "3x faster grind".

Lithium ion has shit gravimetric energy density but electric engines are a lot more efficient and lighter. Still too shit energy density on its own though.
But contra rotating props are super easy with electric engines since you can just install 2 in tandem, which adds in efficiency.
Modern airfoil design should also make the design a bit more efficient.
Scimitar props too.
It would still be an extremely heavy plane. (Like an FW190G-3 with 1800kg bomb load)
Though a lot more aerodynamic and engines that are supreme at high alt.
If zinc-air batteries are allowed, or lithium-phosphor doesn't take up too much space. Electric would likely stomp ww2 planes in boom/zoom situations.

A 260 kw engine is about 100 pounds.
HP/weight doesn't scale linearly but it shouldn't be heavier than a piston engine.

Engine would have to be 600 kw at most since you can add a second one for the contra rotating props.
Speed would be superior anyway with the aerodynamic advantages.
Climbing won't, and turn performance would also be worse.
But a boom and zoom plane won't have to turn much anyway.

That's not a bad lineup for starters but first advice is to grab the M16 SPAA. It's a fantastic anti aircraft platform that can kill Jap tanks and lightly amored tank destroyers or other SPAA quite easily at its battle rating.
In RB the spawn costs are based on vehicle type and whether or not you are a higher BR than the 'norm' for the game. A heavy tank like the M4A3 (105) will cost ALL your spawn points if you spawn in it while being the highest tier vehicle in the match. Choose what you spawn as carefully based on whether or not you feel confident or you know you can grab a cap in the first minute of the match.
The Shermans are going to be your mainstay with Americans and the 75mm on them is pretty good now with the APHE buff and the quick fire rate. Your hull armor is pretty bad BUT you have decent turret armor that can often bounce rounds AT A DISTANCE and your gun depression means you can sit behind hills and lob shells at poor schmucks all day long.
With Shermans try and get into a place where you can support the more mobile, better armored tanks without exposing too much of yourself to enemy fire. Even if you whiff the first shot your reload rate and excellent turret rotation means you can get a corrected shot down range quicker than the other guy can get on target in most cases.
With the 105 you'll be grinding out SPAA or other lightly armored vehicles with the HE until you get the HEAT. I don't normally recommend doing this with Shermans aside from Jumbos but one of the greatest abilities of the 105 is it's improved armor and speed means you can ram the living shit out of other tanks you fight and more often than not throw off their aim. Keep your turret facing forward and once you get HEAT make sure you use that religiously. Aim for turrets, engine decks and ammo racks if you know where to locate them. Oh and learn the drop on the HEAT. You can become a literal artillery piece with a bit of practice and map know how.

Ditch the LVT as soon as you can. You want as many 75mm in your lineup as you can.
Also make sure you go down the Tank Destroyer line to get the M10. The 76mm on it tears through everything it faces at 3.7 in RB and TDs get a lower spawn cost than medium tanks so you're almost always gonna get a respawn as SPAA if you die without a kill.
For different map modes play as follows.
3 cap points: Rush your first cap, then side skirt a bit to try and hit the enemy from the side when they and your team clash for the middle point. Be wary of enemies with the same idea and make sure to check corners and listen for engines/MG fire that isnt allied.
2 point cap/defend: If you're comfortable moving forward just stay slightly behind the front line tankers and help pick off anyone they hit but dont kill in the first shot. Be the eyes in the back of their head and be on the lookout for flankers since anyone on the front line prob is too busy trying not to die to notice that Marder III sneaking around the far ridge. If it looks like your team is gonna get fucked in a straight up fight, retreat to a better spot you can ambush at and take as many with you as you can.
Single Point Cap/Defend: Same as 2 point but you'll need to be a bit more proactive and make active callouts on any flanking enemies you see. Pinging the map and saying '____ flanking here' is usually enough. I know a lot of people in this general think using chat is useless but I've found it works more often than it doesn't.
Battle: This game mode barely fucking comes up anymore. Rush to YOUR closest cap point (usually the secondary one thatll activate later) and sit tight. Stay hidden in a spot that forces people to come at you in a funnel fashion and enjoy living out your last stand fantasies as you keep the enemy team from capping as yours rolls up and maybe wins the game. Maybe.

While both good tanks the Panzer II H is the only one I can recommend at its price. If you're going to invest in premium vehicles I would take a look at the others. Premium vehicles are great for researching any vehicle 1 tier beyond their own and anything at or below it. A tier IV tank is always the BEST long term investment if you stick around since it can literally get you through an entire tree. The Lend Lease Sherman for the ruskies got me through tier III and all of Tier IV but it isn't helping all that much with any Tier V vehicle research.
In the end it comes down to preference and what you feel comfortable spending. I've spent a lot of money on War Thunder because I play it on a regular basis and I genuinely enjoy the game even for its problems.

It's not what it used to be. It's expensive as shit to repair like all Jap planes and it can't turn with most of what it fights. Engine at the back means you're prob dead if anyone gets on your tail and you dont have as many defensive options since other planes are more maneuverable.
That said it's a fantastic high altitude fighter with excellent dive speed and cannons that splatter whatever they touch (assuming you dont get gaijin'd and they spark)
It's one of my favorite planes in War Thunder and for all it's faults it's still pretty good once you learn how to use it.

Some questionable design choices when it comes to the different game modes. Simulator has been put on the back burner in favor of catering to Arcade players for the most part which is a small bummer.
Battle Ratings need adjustment but a recent update helped fix most of them. Spalling of solid shot rounds needs addressing and, this is a personal gripe honestly, I feel that the addition of HEAT-FS to the game removed a lot of the fun to higher tiers.
Thankfully Gaijin has shown to be slowly changing their ways and improving and listening to the community. We'll see how the game looks this time next year but I'm hopeful it'll be in a better state.

Stock K4 is suffering. My best advice would be to get into a group of allies that sideclimb at the start of each game and stick to them throughout the entire battle. Another, less reliable, thing you can do is to memorize the side routes heavy bombers like to take to avoid fighters and intercept them.
Unlock the engine injection as soon as possible, from what I remember flying it most of it's MW50 boost is locked away behind that upgrade and it will allow you to go sanic at altitude. Luckily nowadays the K4 has the option to replace the MK108 with an MG151, which helps a lot.

It's a mixed bag. Japs are easiest cause they only fight dumbfuck Americans, slavs are pretty good, brits can do well due to spitfires but they get dragged down by Americans on their team, and Americans are the worst.
Germans vary, they do okay when they're clubbing retarded Americans, but if they get matched against spitfires they're fucked.

Every nation has their high a low points for air in tiers 1-4. F4F, P-47N, P-51D, F4U are all good, Bf 109s are all good except maybe late Gs, spits are all good, Yaks are all good, basically anything jap is good, but rarely overbearing against a better player.

F-2 sabre > all in a head on, but if you're not smart enough to not take that then it's because you've been eating glue your entire life. It's not the fastest, it doesn't have the best acceleration, it doesn't have the best turning, and besides the top fighter it has the worst teammates.

Germans are pretty solid at every tier, Japs are good but through tiers 1-3 you can easily abuse their lack of top speed, in tier 4 they get some fast shit. Slavs are pretty solid everywhere except for like 5.7-6.3. Brits are solid everywhere and stomp any prop with the late Griffons, Muricans highest points are the Mustangs and Bearcats.
