TBC gets boring fast if you've played it before, unfortunately. I remember I had twice as much fun in TBC than in vanilla, but going on a private server with TBC now gets me bored in a couple of days, while vanilla wow private servers are still exciting. I guess it's the fact that TBC is extremely streamlined. Level to 58 - do every single quest in every zone, stopping for the dungeon quests - reach 70. Grind gold, buy professions gear, raid kara, get badges, progress.

Want to pvp? Get to 70. Grind battlegrounds for several weeks. Start an arena team with class X. Hope you don't get too many of combo Y.

Farming gold? Do dailies. The same dailies, every single day.

Vanilla is so much more diverse, from things like world pvp, to professions being for fun. Even farming gold in vanilla is more engaging, because for the most part you figure out what you need to farm, how to farm it and so on.

TBC does add a LOT of great stuff, I've always loved to play odd speccs and TBC made everything viable. Arenas were a friggin awesome addition, so was most of Outland. Instances were great. Kara is probably my favorite raid of all time.

Basically, classes such as hunters have fucked up mechanics, because they rely heavily on auto attacks to make up their damage and aimed shot is the only move they can slot in there. However you NEED a weapon with 3.0+ attack speed. Then your quiver drops it down to below 3.0 and most of its effect is lost because the aimed shot pushes your auto attack. Then with any sort of lag or high latency, your auto attack gets delayed further and drops your damage. Your arcane shot is useless, your multi shot costs too much mana and you're oom anyway, which forces you to STOP doing your LOW amount of damage. In addition to that pets, which should form a significant part of your dps, are melee and will die in most fights and be a nuisance in most others. Also your hit cap is stupid. And many, many other issues.

Warriors, on the other hand, are sound in practically every scenario. That's why they never got major overhauls post vanilla, just tweaks, while hunters had their entire dps rotation changed, their speccs reworked and hell, even their class mechanics redone.

The fact that warriors are heavily fucked against mages isn't really that overwhelming considering you heavily fuck rogues and this game is rock-paper-scissors balanced. The only REAL issue warriors have is that you have no way of interrupting chain CC, not even with cooldowns, which led to spell reflect in TBC to correct that issue. But that's one issue, compared to every class having fucking dozens.

Look at paladins, they cannot tank because their mechanics rely on mana which they run out of within the first few seconds. They cannot dps and so on.

Man retrowow is so fun when you just get that little nostalgia bug and want to murder some dudes on a random character. Everyone there is so bad because of buyable gear, I rolled a hunter and was frequently killing 3-4 people at once with no issues whatsoever.

Depends on your level range. You want to be using fast weapons early on because you don't have any weapon damage scaling abilities. Once you get whirlwind, you want to be using a 2h.
