There is something bad if that's all he has. He has NO fire team. Plus, that 50% gets quickly outdone by a basic magna grid at which point he'll move to Colo. There goes 1/3 of her use. Then there's the fact that no newbie has 3 sunstones to make full use of her as a stat stick over other, MLB, summons. 2/3rds. 30% damage cut is good, true, but realistically, a new player is only going to use it once or twice per battle. Plus, it's rarely mission critical in non-HL battles.

Meanwhile, there's an account with a full wind team and a stat stick on par with Athena.

Athena's call will still help you deal with those ougis with your flimsy early game hp. She doesn't make up for the overall worse SSR's but she's certainly a factor.
And Agni is more of a long term investment. You don't need to whale, you only need to burn two surprise tickets (and all your damascus) to make him good.

When you fight as dark against light you automatically get the equivalent of a dark buncle buff for your party.

What you get beyond that from a dark buncle is less than what you get from a normal 20% attack summon which will also have better stats than the buncle.

Left is undoubtedly better then right simply because of how many options it offers. You're near fully set for water, all you need are a few more summons. You have Odin and Apollo, and of course Shiva. Fucking Summer Heles, Petra, and of course Yoda if you want to branch out. It's blatantly an account any newbie would kill for.
Right is good if your friend wants a foot into ebin eports, but it also is 2 tickets away from a good Fire team and formerly the core Light team setup(that is, he gets Yuel and Juliet). Not to mention he's got a good setup on Dark.

Talk to him a bit and see abut his tastes and playstyle some more. If he's more so casual, give him left. If he's really into the grind, give right. Either way, save the account he won't use for a rainy day.
