- Ingredients always give short-term effects in multiples of 1/4-tier. The game converts any recipe with less than a full tier to 1 tier, and otherwise the tiers are floored. So, for example Armored carp gives 3/4 tiers of +def for each carp, so you get +1/+1/+2/+3/+3 for combining 1,2,3,4, or 5 carp (0.75 converts to 1, 1.5 is floored to 1, 2.25 floored to 2, 3=3, and 3.75 is floored to 3.)
- Bird's egg is a good duration extender, but only if you use one - I don't observe this behavior from other cooking ingredients.

I fight through Windblight, then Waterblight, then Fireblight, then Thunderblight before him and I basically run through every weapon I have by that point. During my first visit they had all king weapons+shields. Now they all have elemental weapons and still king-shields.
