If you want to play a cheapo wow with dodge and less classes, and don't mind that people can skip about 2 months ahead of your progression, I'd say yes.

If you're coming with 0 f2p game background and will complain about every little annoyance a f2p brings without willingness to adapt then no, stay away or you'll start complaining about everything every 10 minutes here. Also the client it's poorly translated and half the knowledge you'll need will require you to watch some youtube guide or ask in chat/guild.

I'm not defending this game or anything, but it literally came out today for plebs, so if you ever plan on playing it right now it's the best time, most people here will quit in under a month probably anyways.

Every class has to bars to build "ultimates" like you build a resource and can blow a special powerful skills, for spirit shaper you build a damaging ultimate and healing ultimate, damaging skills are little summons that last a bit and do things and the healing well... heal a bunch, the best is a flower that lasts 30 seconds and heals in an area but can be killed in pvp.

Also all classes have like a stance switch, the healers turn into a fox that has cc inmunity and can charm enemies or something, I only see it used as an escape when shit hits the dan but I don't have it yet. You have like 4 shitty damaging skills very standard a dot a little aoe nuke, a spammable attack you can use moving, and an aoe that's pretty decent and summones some dolphins for 5 seconds (with talents you can burst it and freeze people for 3 seconds I think). The heals are nothing special, you spend most of the time spamming a hot like a druid and the rest are situational variations of heals that remove debuffs or gives little buffs and shit.

SS It's not amazing but it's effective, if you want something more versatile try Occultist, problem is occultist heals are kinda shit later on for pve they just buff shit and can't main heal, in pvp they're scary if geared tho afaik, they can turn into a demon/angel and then exit the demon/angel form and leave is a sort of turret/pet that damages/heals, summon a wall that slows enemies, have a little inmunity shield, and some stupid dark beads that rape everyone, later on they have a strong damage buff that everyone wants in their group but only one occultist per raid for that.

Melee sucks 1-68, 69-79 melee dps is OP as fuck and makes the ranged classes angry.
Not counting vanguards, vanguards are op with godly gear, terrible with shit gear

Also we don't have assasins yet, so basically is just blademaster, a lot of people quit BM before hitting 69+ tho they're pretty bad before that, most people actually level something else first, and once they're rich just plvel a BM and buy them the best gear once the servers have settled.

Gunner and spirit shaper are the classes less reliant on gear to be decent, I mean obviously they get much better with gear, but even a lowly geared gunner does a ton of damage just with his stats and average f2p peasant gear, and SS is the same, they can do decent heals and have decent survivability with average gear but with good gear they can be unkillable monsters.

Well like I said SM is top tier aoe damage until the last bracket when melee gets stupid op, while gunslinger is top tier single target. All the classes have some sort of raid utility so they don't become useless they are all good, is just BM that's pretty crappy in the early tiers, people don't want them in their groups unless there's no other alternative or have really good gearscore. Main difference between SM and gunner for me was range, gunner has the longest range so it's pretty laid back and even summons fucking pokemons into the back lines so they can kill shit without risk, they also get a mech but I didn't get to try it, they're both squishy as fuck and gunner is considered bad in 3v3 arena.

BM and assa gets stupid skills in the last tier of progression, it doesn't necessarily mean the balance will remain like that when we get that content, but if everything remains unchanged they'll be above the rangeds for that tier of content. Honestly I doubt you'll even get that far, we're talking like fucking months until you reach that point, you can easily reach 40 in a day or two, and do a raid in a week and see for yourself how the game works, don't expect to be playing the best of the best right now, you still need to learn a bunch of stuff about the progression system that cockblocks everyone for months, this isn't WoW.
I don't know much about assa, I don't play China, I played CBT one and followed the streamers for a few months until i got bored of waiting for obt. And yes vanguard wins most tournaments with BIS.

Ughh I'm lvl 37 and the progress is so fucking slow man, snail pace as hell.

You need to spam and spam dungeons to level up and the currency system is so fucked up that makes the game pretty awful. There is a lot of points for different things that aren't even explained, people are confused as hell and filled with items they don't know what the fuck are worth for.

What sucks even more is the P2W system that is coming soon, plus how a single fucking costume is expensive as fuck.

Aside that the game is great, the combat system is nice too, still have some issues and if you don't level up fast (means you HAVE to buy elite status) then you will get stuck for a while.

Everyone will tell you that you need to stance dance to be good at SM or you're shit, but honestly I felt like it was more annoying than helpful, all you get is a little extra skill from changing stances, it didn't feel strong enough or fun to spam stance change just to throw and extra fireblast or something. But as I said all SMs will tell you if you don't do that you're shit so /shrug idk the rotation is like 5s to blow all your fire and lighting skills, then your repeat it and then throw a 10s cd aoe, maybe reposition a bit and repeat over and over again that's it until your build enough ultimate and throw one of those depending on the situation. Well it depends on what content your'e running anon, iirc it's something like hard mode is 1 star, then the raid shit gets 3 levels, first one is like 3 stars compared to hard, second one is like 7 stars, third one is like 10 stars in difficulty, so things get really really spiky and stupid if you're doing the god modes or whatever, everyone probably dies in one direct boss hit in the hardest content, is just that meleers have a higher risk of being near a red marker and dying. But again is hard to see it with just words, you would need to see videos and follow the guilds progression to get an idea of how hard they are. You can see some godly geared raid doing the hardest godmode first try, but you won't have that gear or the experience, you'll be going with a bunch of faggots thinking they know what they're doing and wasting time and raging left and right. I saw the streamers dying over and over to some encounters and most BMs were exploding next to the bosses, probably also because of the vanguards fucking up or something.

Leveling's much better if you don't try to force it. I'm in about the same boat but just putting the game down and coming back tomorrow when things reset (or doing something else in game, tradeskills, an alt?) helps. It's just paced really weird that even while leveling the daily stuff gives so much more experience.

I don't want to sound like a shill, personally I'm even pondering if I should dedicate time into it or not.

But it does get better, like there's so much content, compared to similar mmos I don't think there's other f2p game with this much content being relevant at the same time. It's all "hidden" and you could easily miss it, but there's a ton of group and solo content to do. Like those challenge towers, and there's a food dimension or some shit, a good amount of dungeons, there's a bit of room for build variety, there's multiple layers of progression, dungeon difficulty scales pretty high, 3v3 arena is pretty addictive, GvG does require some strategy, I don't know the "good thing" about this game is that it has "a lot of little things to do", if you just want to do one of them and play less than 1hr a day you can and will progress, but if you want to no life and play 8hrs+ you can also do that and have enough activities that reward you in different ways.

I would be dead over heels with this game if I wasn't playing another mmo already, they delayed this stupid launch so much I had to entertain myself with something else.

If anything my only concern is how empty some servers could be in 1-2 months, this launch was surprisingly smooth, and while this should be a good thing it makes me worried on how little publicity it got, and how many angry streamers or content creators might have made people not even try it.

idk why, but for this game in particular I was just thinking I wanted to play an out of the norm class I'd never play in any other MMO, so I chose the gunslinger because I figured it would make me feel a little Cowboy Bebop for some reason.

I did some quests and then I forgot blademaster is a thing and I like swords. I also like samurai so I wonder if blademaster would be fun to play a cool samurai and feel like Samurai Champloo.

I like both classes, but now I'm wondering which one would be the most fun to play in the long run.
