The same spot keeps shitting out a new mob every 5-10 seconds so it's literally impossible to fight them off.

Rogue are great melee DPS. Combat is the ideal spec, but Mutilate can get by as well if you're good and know the class really well.

Ret Paladins aren't amazing as far as their DPS, but they bring utility and benefits to a raid/group that make them worth bringing.

Droods are similar in that they can tank in a pinch on some raids.

Topping the damage charts is not the only quality a DPS has in TBC, so generally any melee DPS is worth having perhaps 1 of if the player is skilled and the dungeon/raid calls for their specific utility.

Since AP is normalized with weapon speed, white damage is non factors between sword and dagger of similar DPS. The problem is energy and combo point generation with daggers being significantly lower. 5cp for backstab is 300 energy, meanwhile is only 200 for sinister strike. Over a long fight that's the difference between another use or two of rupture vs having to use it to keep snd up.

Basically if you wanna go daggers your only viable option is mutilate at the right gear level.
