Hello, how is the Dynamic Campaign thing in this game? Been playing IL2 1946 with a ton of mods for the longest time and despite how much fun it is, i think it's time to try something new.

The turret front is 'only' 200 mm. So a Tiger II would have no issue shooting it in the face.

Flanking it or shooting the turret front with a proper gun like the PaK 43 is the way to go. The hull itself is weak so that it's preferable too.

To educate yourself, you really should inspect the tank models for flaws themselves.

P-47 is broken beyond hell and doesn't attain IRL performance until it hits at least 10k meters and if you manage to get that high you will just be reported for passive play. At 7k and 8k which is the height that 99% of battles max out at, it can and will be outrun by 109s in level flight. I don't think that's very accurate either.

If I J out, I have to repair my tank ADDITIONALLY to not being able to use it until "the crew comes back". This is really not fun at all. Type 74's frontal hull armor is comparable, side is thinner. Turret is nightmare fuel and has a 170mm hidden plate behind like the 200-250mm mantlet.

ST-B is the inverse. Turret is kinda weak, stronger the Leo but still trashy. Hull is 100mm at super slopes. I've had it eat Chieftain shots before.

Japanese Type 74 is at BR 8.3 and other MBTs at 8.0 so... but it's got crappy hull armour same as the Leopard, which got the best mobility and good gun depression. T-62 got the best shells, T-10M the best armour vs mobility and one shot cannon. M60A1 and Chieftain are overall good balanced.

Every tank got it's merits and it comes down to playstyle for each tank.

322mm at 500m and 300mm at 1000m isn't too bad considering it's the fastest round in game (1615 m/s) hence the trajectory is super flat and very good for sniping. Also against anything that isn't HEAT/ATGM the armor is very derpy from longer range.

Check for yourself, 120mm cheeks and angled. UFP is 60mm, but heavily sloped so it's 130 effective. Turret it not as strong but it's sloped all around with a damn trollish mantlet

The KV-1 with the L11 gun is horrible, bounces a shitload of shots but can't pen anything just like the T-34 1940

But the KV-1S and KV-1 ZiS-5(now 4.3) are a lot of fun to play, especially with the new hilarious reverse speed. And not nto mention how many shots they bounce when angled, the ZiS-5 has 100mm hull and 90mm turret at 4.3, angle and you can literally survive any German 75mm easily while picking them of in their 60mm box armor

I bought a 240hz monitor for FPS games and I've been revisiting some of my old flames seeing how they handle 240hz.
240hz refresh rate appears to speed up certain aspects of War Thunder. I noticed my guns reloading faster, so I did a test.

This webm shows the exact reload time of the Nashorn when I have my monitor set to 100hz refresh rate. I would try 60hz but the monitor can't go any lower.

At 100hz, it takes 692 frames from a 60fps recording for the gun to reload.

Here is the same reload, but in 240hz. It takes 622 frames, almost exactly 10% less time, to reload the gun compared to in 100hz mode. The discrepancy should be a bit higher compared to 60hz.
