Witch is busted, one of the most broken classes in the game. Dread Fighter is also great but compared to witch it may not look like much, same goes for Dark Flier which got a heavy nerf in Fates. Vanguard, Great Lord, and Lodestar are all equally good though and probably better than the Dread Fighter and Dark Flier classes from my experience.

Why do people think Galeforce is good? If your squishy attacking unit manages to attack into something, get countered, and still survive to attack the next turn (and survive that) then there is no virtually no situation where the extra move is relevant. Even Rising Trash is maginally better because it lumps bonus damage onto your first attack, unlike Galeforce which doesn't pay out until you've finished a 5 cooldown, initiated an attack, and then taken another move AFTER that attack.

Slow specials are pointless in this OHKO meta and Galeforce is the slowest special in the entire game.

Why is it as I level up the score I can get from arena keeps getting lower? Yesterday I was 6-10 levels lower, yet my maximum range for points was 290~. Today my max is 260~. What gives? If I didn't need to level up in order to do GBH I might have even just stopped leveling between arena.

Can anyone explain this? It's happened across a few accounts now.

It's hard to explain without knowing what counts for spoilers to you, but there's a lot of tedium involved in most of the maps, like waiting for elevators to move (this happens across many different maps), or slowing trudging through a map that is entirely destroyable walls filled with enemies with a surprise crit tome at the end, or having to move boxes around.
Additionally, in terms of enemy composition, there are prepromotes that appear far earlier than reasonable. There are Master Ninjas that appear in Ch 11 for goodness' sake. And it's not like they're a challenge, since you already have super-units who can kill them easily, but it means you can't use the new, shitty units you're constantly recruiting. Which leads to

Compounding with the aforementioned prepromote problem, a lot of Nohr units join later in the game than in Nohr, but with their same base stats. You get level 10 Shura, the Adventurer prepromote, on the same midgame-ish map you get level 9 Nyx, who is still in her base class with her base stats. And even the units that join early are screwed: Hana, for no reason, starts with 2 less str than in Hoshido. She can only barely damage Oni Savages on hard mode when she joins.
And it may sound like the game is actually challenging instead of poorly designed, but it's not challenging at all. Kamui starts the route so overleveled and the royal units are just as powerful as in their own routes, so you can just stomp the game with them. It really ruins how Revelation was supposed to let you use all the units, because everyone but the royals ranges from bad to unusable.

If you want my advice, don't play Revelation. Conquest has a shit story, Birthright has shit gameplay, but Revelation takes both and somehow makes them worse.

There are two (2) good colorless units, and one is only good if you roll a specific boon. Healers are shit. Non-Kagero ninjas are shit. Non-Takumi archers are shit.

Colorless in general is underpowered for anything other than defense because the triangle favors the player over the AI.

So, do we have a consensus on the best A/B/C skill slots?

Obviously, every unit have different rolls.

But, Darting/Death Blow is good for A

And Hone Atk/Spd is good for C

Dance is almost always good for their support skill, etc.

Healers are offensive garbage and don't heal well enough to be worth their inclusion. Plus, you get 2 free Whys if you really want one.

Bows suck. Takumi was worthwhile to roll for when he was a focus but he's too hard to get, now. No one rolls flying teams so having the bow as range instead of magic just isn't worth it. Unless you're Takumi. And you won't roll a Takumi anymore. Besides, you get 2 free Virions (with Seal Speed) if you really want.

Daggers aren't strong enough unless they're 5 stars and that's too rare to begin with, and only Kagerou is of any value in that respect...and only against infantry. As before, you get 3 free Felicias (that heal) if you are desperate for daggers.

Don't roll colorless unless it's, like, your last roll of 5 and it was the only one and this summon session has a really high % 5-Star rate because you've been pulling so much shit recently. Even then...eh.
