I keep saying it, explosive/concussive attacks doing extra damage to shields and barriers would open up more characters to be able to deal with the massive amount of shields and barriers in the game. Right now all we have is Bastion, Soldier 76, and to a lesser extent Sombra. If Junkrat and Pharah could chew up shields more efficiently more options and tactics would be opened up.

Junkrat theoretically does a ton of damage to shields and barriers, the main issue is that he is pretty easy to kill. Pharah is his hardest counter and Soldier/Zarya do extremely well against him. I wouldn't know how to buff him to fix these issues though.

How? If he does the same amount of damage to both people and shields he's not doing a ton of damage to shields. His M1 and Mine do 120 damage but it still takes all five rounds just to destroy Winston's barrier, he'd need to reload once for Osira and twice for Reinhardt, and then there's Symmetra's 1000HP barrier and Zarya's 200HP bubbles.

If he had an M2 that made his grenades do more damage to shields and barriers it would help him immensely. His survivability is all about firing his grenades at odd angles and ricochets, which is usually enough unless the enemy is actively hunting for him.

In plat I really don't think that playing the "meta" is good. You can win just by playing better and getting kills. A 6DPS comp where everyone is on their fave hero will win 100% of the time over a forced meta team, with people playing heros that they barely know.

That's because they are comfortable playing.
I think that until you hit grandmaster, playing meta will just be worse than picking comfortpicks.
Making "tier" lists is just creating a (subpar) meta.
Just play whoever you're good at. You will reach a point where you just cannot carry anymore because they use rein+zrya+ana to the fullest and wipe your team every fight, THEN and only then you start playing meta.

The only thing close to that I've done was nanoboost a widowmaker just outside of our spawn when she accused me of not being able to find the q button when I hadn't ulted for a longass time as Ana. The salt was absolutely worth it.

I don't know what to think about Orisa.

On one hand:
>she has a big kit so she's fun to play as you got lots of stuff to do
>spammable barrier is pretty damn strong
>gun feels nice if you manage to string together lots of headshots
>she's got a good safety net with her shift ability

On the other:

She feels really weak on her own in a way that no other tank does, she's even more of a supporting tank than Rein. I found myself doing well with a good team, but having to switch off if I needed to carry.

Also she's an ugly cowshaped robot instead of cute black loli, so there's that too.

Though "Do you need a hug?" is probably the best voiceline in the game.

You can check behind you and see two of your teammates then you know you dont need to worry about getitng flanked and stuff like that. If a lot of teammates are dying in one spot its probably a good time to take another route as the enemy starts to focus that one spot expecting your team to continue popping up there.

Learn to focus the enemy players who are clearly a step above their team, if you see that soldier consistently fucking your team up take make him your main priority and get your ball moving again. And on the other side, if you notice someone on your team playing exceptionally well stay near them or support them more as it only takes two sometimes to take the advantage. A personal choice is using D.VA and her reflect to protect an offensive player who can really dish out the damage.

Yelling at your team will always make performance worse. Just dont do it. Putting people in a bad mood will only lower their confidence. Instead encourage and coach, take the role of the leader and suggest ideas be the voice that keeps that one guy from and keep the team from losing hope. You could giving up and turning the game around. Sometimes too you may notice your team is hesitant to make the push, all it takes is for you to move out first and they will always follow. Just make sure they see you moving forward.
Another vice versa is when the team is too confident. Sometimes your team will push and push until they are all spread out or at the spawn area. Remind your team to group up at the choke point or the capture point and make sure your team stays close together. Most times your defenses crumble when a team is too far apart.

Overall just master every hero and learn to fit the roll needed for the situation. Sometimes you have to keep cycling through heros until you suddenly start hitting those kill streaks and thats when you know youve found a break in the enemys composition.
