What was happening was breaking the rules for how CGs work in order to create a fanservice scene, and it was lampshaded at the time that it doesn't work like that, but for the sake of the event they went "Oh well". You purposefully misinterpret things to say its shit tier when the plot flat out says it would stop it and is entirely able to do it.

There's more than one counter force as well; counter force that causes things to line up in just the right way by sheer chance like in Kara, counter force of gaia which is Fou in his full form, counter force of humanity which is heroic spirits, and Grand servants are supposedly a type of counter force as well
