Yeah, that was actually how it was in the original Russian mod. It didn't really make sense to be honest. First off, you would need a weapon to "repair". Then you would choose the item to "repair" it with, but instead of repairing the first item, the second item would be broken into spare parts. Give it a try and you'll see what I mean. I wanted to open a dialogue box when you "used" the crowbar or whatever item, but apparently doing it drag-n-drop is the easiest method (so sayeth Alundaio).

You could also make a custom UI for it, but I'm not touching that shit.

What I would do is copy the trader and weapon files from StCoM over top of my modpack's shit, and then if you feel like it, you can manually add in the items from Roadside Picnic. There are like 3 or 4 items, you would just want to add them to the traders.

As long as you leave the important (uniquely named) people alive then they will spawn forever. If you kill the improtant people they will take a huge hit to respawn time. They will eventually respawn, just never to full strength, usually half or so. You will still run into them rarely in the Zone too, usually about 1/4 of the time you used to. This is all based off of personal play time.

In CS the factions constantly put shit in boxes they camp at, no idea about stashes because they're more special with the upgrade pendrives so they probably don't respawn, at least the ones with pendrives. In CoP you get the rewards for missions in base boxes. Stashes are one time since they're outside of boxes.

I don't use StCoP, so.... if you want it to be compatible, here's what you do:
Go through every weapon file added by StCoP, get me the name of each weapon ("wpn_ak74u_alt1") that's added, whether it's a rifle, a shotgun, a pistol, and whether it has a pistol grip or not (some rifles don't), and I'll make a patch for it. As it stands, it shouldn't be incompatible, you just won't be able to disassemble those weapons. Oh, and the ui_icon_equipment file. I'll merge the shit.

I actually had that issue getting OA to work with all my other shit. I had to change "up_gr_firstcd_helm_battle" to "up_gr_firstc_helm_battle, but then it threw a similar error, so I just copied the upgrade schemes from my gamedata to replace the OA helmet upgrade schemes. Was a bitch.

Planning to add some craft stuff into the Disassemble mod, particularly IEDs. Will report back later.

Sorry for the trip but I'm the lad that asked for help and then said I was going to fix weapon soup.

Everything is going smoothly, and I'm starting with ao3 as a base to add to because everything is just a little easier setup wise.

There's a little issue however with the Thompson, where it seems the gun is meant for using the front sight post only.

It fires accurately and everything, but moving the gun backwards to the correct position shows that the rear sight is off Center. It either fires dead on with the rear sight blocking it, or the sights are lined up and the rounds are shooting 7-15 degrees to the left.

Obviously the model was ripped lazily from somewhere else.

I'll finish with everything next weekend, so do you want me to put it in a pack with stcop/ao3 or just upload it alone?

Freedom has the best heavy suits (radiation and exo).

Clear sky has the best everything else. CS-3a and CS-3b a best, and the NBC suit is hometown.

That's what I mean. The irons are straight but when moving the sight line back from it clipping and showing the front sight only (which was perfectly accurate out to range), the rear sight post was blocking the front sight, and I didn't feel like messing around with it at the time.

It's an issue because it uses the ak74 from weapon soup as a base for the Hud model and animations. The Thompson was my first weapon to use to mess around with in adding it and making it work well with the current ao3 pack, and I'm happy so far with how it came out. I have bigger things planned for the Thompson anyway to make it fit well as a nimble weapon in game.

I singled out the Stg 58 due to it not really having a niche. The modern weapons were clearly given due to international interest in the zone, finding their way first through freedom, the "mercs" and even the ecologists before making their way as high value guns all over the zone.

But the stg58 is an old battle rifle that fits into more of the G3 spirit of things. Choosing the FAL variant that was produced in the least numbers and used by only 1 state just seems odd.

It's like them adding a Garand into the game and instead of it firing .30-06 or the post war navy conversion 7.62 nato, having it fire .276 Peterson.

It's possible to turn them off easily but by fixing the phantoms, I mean making them not deal physical damage and having them be negated by psi resistance without the need of the helmet.

With the fully upgraded helmet, the phantoms do nothing to you, but the same should apply when you have enough psi resistance. Plus the issue where turning off the miracle machine doesn't stop them from spawning and doesn't stop the zombies from respawning.

It really fucks up the fact that the path to dead city is through that mess of bullshit.

Personally I think the phantoms are necessary for the area before you turn off the miracle machine, as even when they're harmless, they serve as a visual distraction which makes the bloodsuckers a greater threat to the point where it's dangerous even for the best equipped stalker. It should make you want to do the ecologist mission and turn off the miracle machine after passing through that bullshit.

I'm just glad there's no phantoms during emissions like in AA2 or other modpacks. That was fucking bullshit because they didn't go after anybody but you.

I was comparing the FAL addition in the game as the Stg 58, the least produced version of the famous rifle only made in Austria for their small military, as the gun we get in game which is as inexpensive and numerous as any of the other battle rifles which were produced in far more numbers by many different countries.

It should have been added as the FN FAL or the L1A1 or literally any version that wasn't the Austrian made one. It's my /k/ autism but hopefully you understand why I'm singling it out.

I do however stand by the Thompsons inclusion into the game as a weapon sold by nimble. I think it would fit alright into that category. If I wish to apply /k/ autism to it, the Russians got a fuck load of Thompsons from lend lease and stored them in cosmoline like any post war surplus. Nimble has one of a kind prototypes, so it's less of a stretch for him to get a Thompson.

I would preferably have multiple versions of the FAL with their own little quirks. I really want to add in the FALO SAW and the L1A1/L1A2 "bitch" rifles with their shortened barrels and 40mm grenade launcher.

That also reminds me that I need to fix the KS-23. It has the magazine capacity of the 23mm shot shells but takes 12 gauge shells.

There's parts of the 23x75mm shells In the description and files, but they are unused. I want the buckshot "shrapnel" shells to be able to take down multiple mutants at 25 meters and tear a chimera a new asshole, and I want the antimaterial slug to be able to kill a pseudo giant with a well placed headshot.

All the traders have an extremely small chance of selling each one and the get rarer the higher quality they are. Basic toolkits can be bought fairly often, and Expert tools are weirdly common from stashes, especially from Bar/Army Warehouse rewards. I haven't actually played just misery without a weapon pack yet. I started on version C with AO and the updated to D and stcom. AO had shitloads of the same AKs that were damn near the same. Stcom has tons of guns but only 1/4 of them are even worth it since every fucking gun has a worn, old, rusty, or corroded version. shit some of them have all 4 versions plus alternative, modern, and custom, all of them being seperate guns.

You should honestly do them in order if you can, or CS, SoC, CoP. CoP's gameplay and everything is a definite improvement over the previous two, but SoC has the true S.T.A.L.K.E.R. atmosphere. They are each unique in their own way. SoC its more wandering the Zone so to speak, occasionally running into muties and humans. CS still has some of those elements but you take on more of a role with the human side of stuff with the faction wars. CoP imo has the best start of all three, but late game becomes boring because none of the places fully respawn with all the interesting stuff you ran into along the way.

So after finally getting your mod installed I seem to be having a similar problem as >>170145121 While my PM and AKS both showed up on the repair UI (using a universal toolkit with one use on it) because they were damaged, I didnt have any items pop up besides the little green canteens of purified water. I only had one in my inventory but I did have a rifle stock, a pistol grip, several triggers, several springs, and a 12ga barrel. I understand the grip and barrel not working but I don't see why the springs and stuff wouldn't work. I figured it was due to my toolkit so I bought one of those little pistol cleaning kits and my pistol showed up again, but purified water was the only thing that showed up as a repair item. Not sure what to tell you man, everything else worked perfectly. I'll play around more and see if I can find some items that actually let me repair.

Alrighty well I found the error and it was on my end. After turning on the debug and giving myself some money and buying a wide variety of repair materials from Sid, I now realise you have to use the actual toolkits to utilize the various spare parts. Pretty sweet man! Finally be able to make use of the tons of broken guns that would be otherwise useless.
I did have a few ideas, but I have literally no idea how hard it would be to implement it. First off i feel like to large toolkits for the different calibres would be more beneficial if the were either infinite or had more uses, maybe some sort of durability? It feels pretty pricey to just buy a single use kit to maybe benefit from 6-12 percent more, although I have no idea how hard that would be to implement and I could see it becoming pretty unbalanced if you didnt make the tools super expensive or super rare. On the other hand, it would make the lower quality materials that much more important, meaning yould have to keep your gun in good condition and not have it become slag. Another way to go would be to have the larger parts be able to repair a bit more. I feel like a rifle stock should repair more than 6% if it can only be used with the real repair kits, considering it take up more than 6% of the weapon. I get that its not in the actaul mechanism of the gun, but it should be a little more at least. Another idea would be making certain tools (crowbar and swiss army knife) get certain items at different rates. Like the SAK has a higher rate if smaller stuff over the crowbar for larger stuff. Idk just some ideas, I know how to change the repair values but adding different tools and different/new parts to the UI is WAY beyond what I know how to do.

Absolutely, I just finished playing the crap out of CoM with StCoM and this was a pleasant change. short of a few very minor changes I made (a suit of armor or two that was a bit lighter, medkits healing 5-6% more) I played it pretty much vanilla. I'm actually really liking his drag and disassemble mod that he made. There are quite a few balancing issues right now but I feel like there is a lot of potential. I also really like his desolation mod combined with lootmoney. people are fewer and further between but on top of their loot you get a chunk of money based off of rank (I'm assuming) and it actually balances pretty well. I could see it being more OP in later areas like Pripyat or CNPP but at those points do your really even need money? You should be rolling in enough dough a few nasty fights won't sting anywhere near as bad as they do early on.

Extremely easy, I have pretty much zero experience changing anything and I just kind of winged it and it worked.

Misery folder/gamedata/configs/misc/items/items_medical (ctrl + f "food and drugs\medkit"

That is your basic red medkit, a couple lines down is

boost_time

which is how long it lasts, I don't know the direct conversion to in game time, add a few and subtract a few till you find a happy medium. Then a single line down from that is

boost_health_restore

which is how much it actually heals, careful because simply doubling it will make it so your basic medkit heals as fast/faster than a stimpack and it will do it longer, like 126% rather than 63% to name some numbers. feel free to make it as weak or as strong as you like. this works for other items too, like armor attachments, drugs, or food. they are all really easy to modify.

Wish I could play more CoM. Unfortunately, I haven't been on in the last few days due to work. The way I made money as a Merc was going to Rostok and clearing the entire place out. After that, I hauled ass back to Dead City, sold all of my loot, then went to go mess with Freedom. Two successful raids in an hour.

Also, if you want to make an easy 20k, then find a Gauss Rifle and repair it using the knife kits.

Tis indeed a pretty aggressive loadout there, quite a haul for early on, how many days have you been in the Zone? I would work towards making a permenant stash, finding a quality helmet and some better armor. but what you have now will be fine for fighting any human just about. The knife kit thing is a pretty well known bug. In one of the last couple versions of CoM they removed the item seperation thing for the repair kits, meaning a pistol kit could fix a shotgun, and a shotgun kit could fix a RPG, or a sniper rifle kit could fix an assault rifle. Since whetstones (knife repair) have a base repair of 11% (as long as a weapon has 11% or more it can fix it) and they also repair 11% per use they are one of the cheapest and most powerful repair items. A 4 pack of those only cost a couple thousand, and considering you can combine them with hoppes #7 for 7% more (18% total) or steel wool for 5% more (16% total) you can literally repair almost completely broken weaponry for less than 10k rubles.

Between the loot you're bringing in and the money you already have I would almost suggest skipping everything and going straight for a SEVA or an exoskeleton, but that does kind of ruin the fun. It's way more enjoyable to build up to it. I know of a couple suits of armor in the various underground areas that you would have to fix up, but are better than your merc suit. Helmets on the other hand, you are going to have to buy on your own. Aim for an SSP/Screen helm if you can. they look like the helmet off of a SEVA or ecologist suit, that shit will save you MANY times.

I don't have the ui_itm_repair any more, I just transferred everything to 1.0d fix 2 and Axebeard's tweaks and stuff. Literally all I had was CoM 1.0d, fix 1, english translation (whatever that current version was), CoM 1.0d vs STCoP WP, and CoM 1.0d vs STCoP fix (New as of 02-13) These are the files i have in my recycle bin. I really don't think I missed anything, but i guess i may have. Not really trying to seem like a troll or anything. My turning point in the game was when i finally went to Radar and stashed all of the mono's nice weaponry and made continuous trips back and forth from bar to retrieve and repair them. if it was at 10% or less, i repaired it into another gun or just donated it to a nearby stalker. i managed to make almost 600k rubles, it took like 4 in game days to move all the crap, it was a fucking slog but totally worth it.

So after a decent break of playing CoC I saw Warfare was updated to 1.4.22 so I decided to give it a shot. Installed it like any other mod but when I try to launch screen goes black, game minimizes as a black box and then stops responding. Tried reverting back with vanilla gamedata and what not and got the same result, had to completely redownload CoC and the latest patch.

Am I missing something during the installation process, another mod to get Warfare working? I feel like I'm missing something really obvious.

Your "cheaper or less-limited-use repair kit idea" was a thing I tested and found out it didn't work well in game. I made repair kits repair less, but cost less, and in the end you end up spending the same amount of money. I thought the economy in CoM was fucky too when I first played it, but after a week you understand why shit costs what it does.

I also considered game balance when making the new spare part items. They're all more useful than the crowbar or hammer, which have unlimited uses, but since you can tear apart a million guns it would be sort of OP to give them huge bonuses. And things like the stock don't really factor into the effectiveness of the weapon so much, so I didn't want them to give large bonuses.

I did consider rare parts, like a pristine rifle barrel that gives you a 20% repair bonus or something though. There's always room for improvement.

Use SitRep, it tells you what locations friendlies are at. It sort of balances out not seeing them on the map.

It's Roadside Picnic, not Stalker. Looks pretty great actually. I seriously doubt a video game will ever be able to portray the setting of Roadside Picnic as well as a show or book can. Check out the Finnish Stalker: A Scifi Roleplaying Game book too, it's entirely based on RP and doesn't have any shit you'd expect from the Stalker games.

It's a tabletop game, yes. It's extremely rules light though, it's something like 256 pages with 4 pages of rules. The rest is great setting fluff and info about artifacts, anomalies, mutants/ anomalous creatures... I was working on a roguelike based on it but started playing CoM instead.

It's better for a series to die off then get multiple shitty spin offs that hold the games title but shit on its memory.

I mean there's the Metro games that remind you of the series a bit but it's on rails. Last Light kind of sucked too. There's also the multiplayer games like Day Z and Survarium that I think take inspiration from STALKER or at least try to attract the games audience somewhat.

I know this is probably a retarded question but I installed CoM + translation + stcop and the fix and everything works perfectly, the only problem is that some weapons names show as in the debug file (wpn_toz34_worn or shit like that) I checked the localization file and it's on english so i'm not sure what should i do, is it supposed to be like this?

It only happens to some weapons which makes me think it's an stcop issue (The pmm shows fine for example)

Also is there a way to bring the minimap back? Bandits new suits look really similar to loners and i'm tired of friendly fire in big firefights because of this
