How is Caribou busted? He just does something we already had units for, Robin and Enel. He's QCK, so there's no way he's going to replace Robin, and Enel is obviously a much better captain so he'll be better on some occasions sure, but not like he's a straight upgrade. The 15 hits thing is really REALLY neat to break combo shields though, but then again Blackbeard friend captain is a thing so it's not that big of a deal if you really want to clear it.
I mean, not saying he's bad or anything of course he's amazing, just not one of the top units from his batch that's for sure.

Powercreep is about making character irrelevant. The fishman batch make no one irrelevant. It just give other options.

Khalifa is still one of the best damage reducer in the game.
Jabra is a 1.75 orb booster for either Qck/Free spirit/Power house. Which is always useful.
Blueno is a 1.75 powerhouse booster, again it's good, the problem is that powerhouse is pretty bad.

Take TS Robin for instance, 2x Dex boost 16 turns CD. 3D2Y Usopp is a 1.75 boost for dex for 15 turns. This is what you can call powercreep.

It's a bit stupid to cry about overcreep just because they release strong character.

We don't have that much "exactly the same but better" unit yet. Most of the time there is variation in CD/Type/Class that makes both unit valuable and usable on different content.

You hear more about it lately because honestly up until recently OPTC had been very good about it. There was power creep, as there is in any game like this, but it wasn't so heavy.

Akainu is where stuff really starting getting out of hand, and all of the latest batches have been full of characters that are pretty fantastic across the board, and many just take something a previous unit did and either do that thing better, do that thing + another thing do that thing with a much lower CD/better stats, or a combination of all 3.

So a redditfag found out something interesting about Shiryu's special

But did you know there are 2 more ways to manipulate the Shiryu RNG without attacking another turn?

Typically the response to OP stuff in games like this is too introduce content that makes it hard as fuck for the broken shit. Cygames recently did this in GBF. They don't want to nerf a limited character, and they already nerfed the mechanic that makes said character super busted. So they introduced elemental resistances to high level content that makes it a pain in the ass for newer players, and older players who aren't equipped well enough.

Newshitter anon here, wanted some input on what my next few evolves should be, and farming advice.

I have the materials saved to evo Cabbage, I just haven't done so yet because of cost reasons. I'm thinking TS Chopper and Law (maybe Diamante too?) have priority now. Not sure if I should super evo Zoro before or after Cabbage.

Perona makes me want to jump off a fucking cliff - I've gone through nearly 30 dupes, and I still haven't gotten a skill level up or an auto-heal socket. QCK Brook seems like he has an interesting ability, and I was curious if he was worth farming.

Also, my 30 stamina Perona runs are super slow, probably because I'm terrible at teambuilding - can I get a suggestion on what the best possible team I could run for her is?

Finally, is it worth trying to get a drop of any of the current colo characters on the lowest (maybe medium, but doubtful) difficulty?

QCK Sanji is useful for his fixed damage. Good for killing enemies with high defense. 5+ Zoro and Law have different specials but the same captain ability (2.5x attack for Dex units).

Unless you're very close to maxing something, it's never worth it to feed outside of skill up. The chance is too low, it's just a waste. Yes, invest in box space and hold the things you need. A lot of people have maxed out their box space (1100) and it's still not enough room when we haven't had a skill up event in a while.

For the record, I'd save your Fuji until something comes along that you actually want to spend Ray points on (likely the Rocket Man ship). No point in selling him off right now when you won't (shouldn't) buy anything.

Man Dressrossa is a great arc when it isn't being ready weekly. That was also when Oda really started being forced to take breaks so the pacing got even more fucked. Fishman Island was an arc that clearly focused less on the enemy at the time. The analogies and messages Oda was trying to send about fishman relations is clear, and Hody took a back seat to all of it.
I would say that Van der Decken and Caribou had just as big a role in all of it too. In addition to having as many split antagonists as there were, there was also obvious signs like Hody getting BTFO by Zoro underwater that clearly showed how much things had changed. You all have to remember that in a way this arc was a pretty big deal for the manga's run, not only showcasing their new strength but weaving plot lines together. Nami finally got the truth behind why her village was attacked by Arlong, we learned about Shirahoshi and the Sea Kings, and the whole fishman civil rights sub plot was introduced. Oda clearly wanted Hody to look like an extremist in the whole thing. Comparing him to Black Panthers or BLM wouldn't be difficult, and it's clear he also never wants to do anything with them again after aging his entire crew beyond recognition.

I would give Hody a legend only on the merit that he showed the reader that in no way did Luffy return invincible from his training.

I really think you're being too literal on this. Really, an event is just a period of time when something is occurring, and while Ray shop and +evos are permanent, their was no less fun and eventful than the "official events" that occur.
Personally, I'm glad we don't have much going on. With Doffy books, SW Usopp books, and Vista out I really can't afford any more distractions from farming them as much as I can. I don't need Le Crap or anything else to eat my stamina, or a 1/2 stamina on fortnights I'm not running. Say what you will, but they chose a perfect time for nothing to occur.

Either way, I'm not "convincing" anyone to go play Japan. I'm just stating my disappointment with the new event. I suppose its venting yes. I wasn't disappointed that we didn't get Ace isle and the skill up increase, only cause we got so many good updates on the other hand

But those good feelings don't last long. And fortnight grinding is nice, but its not the events that make OPTC fun and nice to look forward to opening up in the day. It just makes it the grind that you log in, use up your stam and gem to get the books you need then rinse and repeat.

I'd say save your tomes. Prison Croc has a HORRENDOUS drop rate (I maxed everything the FN drops outside of a skillup socketing my Slasherdile) and I too have a new lego Croc I'm going to have to socket BUT at least he's not a secret character and it can't be any worse than Afro Luffy.

Let's just pray we get Kimono Croc sometime in the future otherwise it'll just have to be gemming hard for Prison Croc. At least I can speedrun it now with all these DEX Strikers (like lego Croc).
