I think level 2 practice mode is infinite shugoki duel. Get him down to 1 bar and just keep Parrying/blocking his attacks until he goes for the grab. The bot likes to throw out the grab when he's low on HP.

Guys I'm sick of Warlord and after trying Shugoki I simply don't see how he can be very strong against a good player. That is, Shugoki, Warlord is very strong.

Who should I try? I was interested in Berserker but I don't think I could pull off consistent deflects or a strong feint game.

Shugoki has his uses. He's one of the only character who can reasonably beat the fuck out of Warlord and Conqueror. It's all about taking trades and making sure you're the winner of those trades. That said, Peacekeeper eats Shugoki alive. He's arguably the most matchup-dependant character.

Why is seeing people rage so god damn funny

I have to day, dominion ended up not being as bad as I initially thought in beta and pre-rep3. Because the objective isn't to murder the enemy players, you rarely get the revengefests from deathmatch. You see people engaging and disengaging if they see someone already has the situation under control so they may help elsewhere. The level is also quite lower than duels/brawls so not only can you carry (people continually throw themselves at you if you defend a point even if you beat them everytime), it's a lot less defensive.

The only issue is debuff res making parry punishes dodgy but dominion players are rarely aware of that kind of stuff.

What DOES debuff resist do? Is it just resistance to the debuff aura feats or does it do more?

Parry a lot, but you don't always have to. Probably the best way to get kills is to wallrape people. Throw them into a wall and as soon as you let go, go into a top heavy. 9 times out of 10 it connects. Same thing with impale charge. If it connects them with a wall do a top heavy. Other than that you have to be extra careful with your stamina and be mindful of your range, as despite having a 7 foot pole you don't have a lot of range to work with.

your best tools are actually off of light parries, parried light attacks, as opposed to heavies

light parry > top heavy is 45 dmg + stun
light parry > side heavy impale into a wall gives you a heavy hit during the wall stun

off of a heavy parry, you can either gb > side heavy for 30 dmg, or use light riposte if you're at extreme range vs someone like nobushi or kensei

Not often. I usually follow up on parry with a light, usually top light and then go into light, unblockable heavy. Funny enough most of his 'strengths' only work well against other Lawbringers because they're slow enough for that shit to connect. It's why I rek mirror matches because I'm fully aware of my own character's weaknesses and can exploit them.

parry everything you can, if you parry a light follow it up with an R2

if you parry a heavy, followup with an R1 or a GB if theyre close enough

all of LB's combos are way too slow to land against any decent player, it helps to know them but don't rely on them.

Parrying a light staggers the enemy longer and thus has more confirms for some characters.

Does Kensei actually get a feat that does this? I've only ever seen it happen once and I thought it was a glitch or something.

Something about Nobushi just pisses me off on a primal level. Getting slashed by swords is fine. Hammered with a flail, I'm good. Hacked with axes and lucernes is something I'm okay with.

But something about being poked with stabs and from a distance, no less, just makes me itch to slap a bitch in the face. Anyone else get like this just from the way a character is played?

It's actually hard for Nobushi too because his headbutt covers a lot of ground and comes out about as fast as even your lights do.

You also have to be careful with pokes because his heavies can tank them and he has a LOT more health than you so you can't trade at all.
