puzzles: the shrine puzzles are mostly physics based but are fun as fuck

there are no real dungeons... like at all. the divine beasts are the substitutes but they're really just large intricate shrines. i thought they were awesome, myself, but I beat one of the four of them in 5 minutes... they're not big.

the bosses are few and far between but what's here are the best bosses in zelda history. calamity ganon needed to be good seeing as there's all this build-up and he's fucking incredible.

puzzles: I hope you like bombs, arrows, physics, and hitting shit while it's in stasis. Those are all the puzzle solving tools you have, and that's what you'll be doing the whole game.

There aren't dungeons. There are big puzzle rooms without enemies, locked doors, chests, etc, but it's not dungeons.

Bosses are EZ compared to normal enemies. They attack slow, they telegraph everything, they attack infrequently, and they hit for not as many hearts as you would think. Generally normal enemies are harder than bosses because some of them are overtuned as fuck and will cleave like half your health off a quick attack, whereas a Ganon monster will slowly wind up an attack and do like the same damage.

I have gotten Lord of the Mountain, AND I have bought the monster bridle+sadder.

I do not think you can keep him either way. I can't equip the stuff on him myself. Do you do that at the stable?

I believe the climbing armor is on the same mountain from another shrine which requires you to get a memory beforehand. The memory is NW of Lanaryu Mountain between the snow area and grass area and there is a big gate there

It should be noted that you can ignore the "hearty" or "spicy" modifiers... realistically i believe you can make any of those recipes without the modifiers, just the base ingredients.

also, hylian herbs are a multiplier i believe... you can end up with 7-13 hearts restoration on 1 dish using a hylian herb

lastly and MOST IMPORTANTLY, DURIAN IS A GOD FRUIT, you can cook just 1 durian to get a simmered fruit that restores ALL health and adds 4 EXTRA hearts.

What does everyone think of the shrines in particular? For the most part, I like most of the puzzles and ideas, it's very satisfying to figure out something.

However, there are some that were pretty (really) bad. All of them involving gyro shit and obviously the constellation one. I've done up to 46 shrines so far, I'm sure there are more shitty ones.

I've done 94 so far and i don't think they're a good replacement for dungeons. About a fourth or so are really good and worth doing but at the same time another fourth of them are simply blessings or tests of strength.

My favorite shrines have to be the ones that are quest shrines. Specifically, Brother's Roast in Goron city and Eventide Island. I wish there were more shrine quests on this sort of level.

Not that guy, but absolutely. It's such a chore sometimes I just don't bother. Finding a pot to cook shit in is just tedious and you're better off to sell shit and buy better equipment that give you permanent effects. Though with the Sheikah Sensor upgrade, finding things for cooking (or in general) gets significantly easier. There is a Recipe book in game I think, an NPC mentioned one in Hyrule Castle but I haven't found it if it exists.
