Aurum exchanges rates is currently 100 gythil/imperial coins for 1 aurum. This is the absolute bare minimum you can sell aurum for. Since Aurum can never go below the minimum, buying aurum now will only get you a huge net growth as more people start playing the game in the future and the value per aurum increases. Basically, since aurum is literally dog shit cheap to buy with ingame currency, you would have to be a brain dead potato to not take advantage of it being so low. ANY pay2win options this game has is completely negated by the fact that you can easily catch up to someone who spent hundreds of $ on this game in just a few hours of free farming.

Everyone is pay2winning is using the aurum on themselves while the gold sellers are literally taking over the market and selling items for dirty cheap.

If Aurum is a account wide thing, there is a loophole where you can actually legit get infinite aurum. But this is only a theory and it depends on 2 questions.

1) is aurum account wide
2) is the starter helper pack and emrald pack a 1 time purchase per characer made or a 1 time purchase for the entire account.

Depending on the answers you can get infinite free aurum but it does require 15-20 mins per char to get to lvl 17.

By the looks of it, items from the CS is "bind on obtain" and cannot be sold. So its stuck on whichever character you bought it on. There may be o there ways to send cosmetics to other characters, but i don't know. This game really forces you to buy shit on multiple characters, so it actually punishes you for making alts. I have no idea why.

You can get around that by selling the aurum you have and converting it to coins, sending coins to an alt, and then rebuying the aurum on that alt.

MMOs won't be good again until a dev with decent financial backing realizes that the genre needs a serious update.

GW2 had the right idea with an explorable scaling world and open questing. A game that pushes more in that direction with better player-skill based combat and actual challenging content is what the industry needs.

Instead every retard dev just keeps trying to copy WoW. Linear questing in an open world. braindead easy content to appeal to the worst kind of casual shitter. Mindless grinding so achievement fags can show off their autism. autotarget lock on PvP with no real strategy other than buttonmashing.

It's not dying because it's a bad genre. It's dying because MMOs require a huge money investment and investors are too dumb to realize that "WoW clone #21353230" isn't a safe investment anymore. So rather than blaming themselves for being out of touch with the gamer community, they instead blame the project and refuse to fund further MMOs.

If you pitch a high budget quality MMO it'll be compared to WoW and people will then laugh at the idea of developing a WoW killer. Even with financial backing, a company won't make what most of us here consider a "good" MMO because of the playerbase. When the 1% whale population in an F2P can make up almost 90% or more of a company's revenue, they don't have a reason to be doing anything other than trying to cater to these manchildren. There's a reason why every new game nowadays has been selling $100+ founder pack preorders and pay2win will never go away. The playerbase is too retarded to resist these things which is why the companies are simply doing what they need to do to maximize profits at the lowest allowable cost (an example would be RO simply stealing ideas and assets to make a paper mache monstrosity for very little effort).

I started out as a Vanguard too, I made an Occultist earlier to see what it's like and the difference in clearspeed was crazy I was blowing shit up left and right in masses

But I'm still gonna stick with Vanguard I like being able to halfass fights and not die

Tanking in an actually hard raid is also quite fun I did my first DS Expert earlier, I actually had to start dodging and using the shield skill for once

There's these things called scour dungeons where you just mindlessly farm mobs every day for a while.
The Vanguard can group the mobs up easier to hit them all at once but comparatively it didn't matter since my Occultist just killed them all faster than they respawned

Vanguards make the life of a group a lot easier though by just grouping all the mobs up together they aren't completely worthless and definitely needed in harder raids
