What I can do so far.

You can just see some of the basic abilities it has, but it won't be as overpowered as it is now. I managed to kill it 2-3 times out of 20+
Also bear in mind that I'm wearing full iron, you shouldn't face this guy without a set of overpowered holy weaponsn armors and potions.

I started the video next to it so I got blinded right at the very beginning. Normally nausea will hit you first and blindness later if you stick around enough. He was more fun to fight in the town because there were more hideouts for both of us and he would be waiting for me around some corners. I'll try to make the forest area just as fun.
Oh, and even though he looks OP as fuck he is definitely killable, even with an iron set.

I have a magic axe that does 30 damage per click, sets the target on fire, has looting IV, is unbreakable and chops down entire trees in one swing.

I've designed an entrire area where he just wanders. You'll be walking around and hearing the occasional laughter because he's nearby, but he may not even attack you. If you get too close to his lair, however, expect things like that video to happen plus hyena laugh plus screeching and the occasional skinwalking.

To be fair, Ars Magica 2 is the mod I liked the least among the five mods I know (Thaumcraft, Witchery, Botania, AM2 and Blood Magic). Hell, Evilcraft seems to be better with progression than BM in places.

You're minecrafting around, questing and adventuring and suddenly you MAY have to face this guy in one of the areas. Forgot to mention, Even though the two castles are huge the path is mostly linear until you block the shortcut areas or find the right items, so you should at least encounter him once. It started as a small miniboss and now it's kind of like a small DLC

Funny you mention that because he drops his heart on death. I've taught him well.
Motherfucker is fast, but sometimes he deliberately stops. That way you can stare at it from the distance for an instant. I wish he could get the enderman "stares if you stare then aggroes" thingy.
I'll give him just only 75 hp because he's fucking hard. I made him so when you wander his area you will probably either never know what hit you or catch a glimpse of him, get curious and then get rekt.
He isn't even overpowered. His nausea attack does 1heart damage, and his regular attacks from 1 to 4 hearts wearing full iron. He's just very hard to hit if you don't know the right strategy.

Alright. Today I finished coding every single monster in the bestiary save the bosses.

Here's just one of them: Vampires.
They throw fireballs at you until you get close, then they summon bats and use obfuscate on you to get away and keep spamming fireballs while the bats keep you entertained.

I'm a bit pissed that this snowy wasteland didn't have any underground spawners. It was only through a lucky moment when I found a near-surface Zombie Spawner several hundred blocks away from base. At this point, though, the Tier 4 Shard Spawner would be much better than the vanilla one.

The redstone control perk for a Tier 5 Shard is bullshit, though. I can just make a light-based control "system" (i.e. a Redstone Lamp and a lever) and spare myself the trouble of whacking 103 more zombies using my Soul Stealer 4 sword.

Oh yeah I messed with IR3 on Weebserb.

Basically it's a pulse powered system.

To get started:

Craft a VLF Pulse Generator.
Then use craft a RS Spinning Machine Null and place it underneath three stone casing in this formation.

Where S = Stone Casing and
A = Air, place the machine on the air block.

Place the two blocks next to each other since you don't have cables yet.

Put wool inside the spinning machine and wait.

While waiting, craft 11 Rustic Brick Blocks and one Rustic Alloy Smelter and place them in a 6x2 formation with the Smelter block on the bottom layer in the middle like so:

Where X is the bricks and A is thge Smelter block.

Combine redstone and one copper to make RS-conductive copper.

Combine spun yarn, leather and 3 RS Copper to make six RS Copper Cable.

Later on you can use RS Amplifers to extend wire signals with Redstone Blocks. This is good for when working with modulators, which, when given coils, amplify your Hertz but reduce RSS (Redstone Signal Strength).

In theory no, since crystal network iirc gets saved into world save instead of routing every second or whatever else. You don't need to chunkload anything, even pylons chunkload themselves if they're in use.
However i had my network consistently forget to load some faraway pylons randomly when i quit and load, forcing me to travel to them to wake them up.
Really it's kinda funny, reika made a lot of his shit in this mod so utterly lazy to update\tick\demand resources that instead of being TPS drain it's nerve drain because you have to slap those pylons\essentia relays out of comatose and it's so annoying. I recommend placing warp glasses to your pylons and dedicating a room to them so you could quickly travel between them if you'll encounter same problem

So far it just uses a red beam of death and a cursed aura.
The red beam of death chases you for a while, and the aura blinds you when you enter in it.
If you don't perfect block when you enter his aura you'll get knocked back and damaged. So the trick to actually hurt him is to get close right after he shoots, Pblock his aura and hit him.
I'm thinking whether I should add bats to help him or not, since it's pretty damn strong on its own.

Depends on which direction I go with it, originally I was going with that one anon's idea to make specialty beds, that give off different buffs when you rest up from them, in that case It's just time to texture things. The space constraints seem like it would be an issue. Like establishing any sort of practical infrastructure feels like it would be awkward to implement. I think you could pull it off though, since there a few decent sized rooms and the hallways are large enough to snake conduits through or stick machines in their walls. I'd imagine though you would need a good transportation system like teleporters, concrete blocks and possibly minecarts to efficiently navigate between your primary rooms. Also, depending on the mods you use there are a couple ways to glitch outside of the dungeon and build in a general void world, in that since you can sort of cheese the building constraints but still be in the eldritch dimension. Either way let us know how your progress goes, should be neat to see what you do with it.

I don't see it working as a primary base. If anything, it feels like a place to do forbidden research and hoard crafting materials of dubious origin. Thanks to my modlist, I got tons of stolen shit from the Twilight Forest that could do well turning it into a private museum of sorts.

The entire enterprise will hinge on how Ender IO teleporters work going back and forth. I'll add it to my long list of pie in the sky ideas.

I made a trade with the dude who hosts our server, and his end of the deal was to implement looping jukeboxes. Our server is mostly vanilla on principle of the other players, so in game discs are the only real source of tunes.

There's some amount of weaseling out of it that's happening on his end, but I'm not convinced it's actually a difficult task. In terms of a mod, that's tame as hell, right?

You can add custom trades to them but the advantage is that you can have like 15 trades of whatever the fuck you want plus you can make them actual persons with personalities so thats a point. I dont think you can do the trades manually so you will have to input them yurself.

Kill them and program some NPC's to avoid darkness (Have them go indoors at a well-lit building at night). You gotta do a lot of stuff by hand, but you can cut some corners with the copy tool from the same mod.

I have been struggling to earn my daily sustenance, all while using most of my time to continue with the work of my life: obtain the philosophers' stone. Unfortunately, the great alchemy schools of Prague have all closed their gates to me. To have access to their knowledge you either need to come from a good family or have enough money. I have none of these requirements. There is a third way to join them, however: proving yourself worthy.

Recently, the entire city seems to be going through turbulent times. Be it for one cause or another, the city of alchemy has stood countless times before the gates of destruction. However, this time it feels different. It is no army what threatens us, but magic itself. If I can feel it then I'm sure many others can since, even though I understand magic and how it works, I have never been gifted for it. But going back to the main reasons of my concern: I can feel there is a daemon at work.

Like a cycle of destruction it returns, causing havoc wherever it goes. It starts with a spark; an increase in petty disputes, a sudden change in the city's mood... it's but the beginning. I do not understand how nobody dares to take action against it, for it seems it is not the first time this has happened. I think I may have found a way to prove myself worthy.

What? It's still getting updates for 1.7.10 - in fact, the last one came out in February 2017. I have literally not been involved in BuildCraft development for 1.8+ aside from helping out AlexIIL a bit with the initial port (and trying to port it myself back in December 2014 when it was near-impossible to do it right).

1.8.9 is a fairly stable port, the rewrite decision was due to the state of the BuildCraft codebase in general and was actually considered during 1.7.10's lifetime.

Yes. For a fresh code rewrite, we decided to target the latest version, because the community always moves on - they moved on from 1.4.7, 1.6.4 and 1.7.10.

Generally speaking: BuildCraft's rewrite decision has had little to do with 1.8's changes, because a fully functional port exists for 1.8.9 (the state of the codebase after the port was part of the motivation, but it wasn't much better before the port); I have not been involved in AlexIIL's 1.8+ port beyond helping out with bugfixes; I quit BuildCraft a year ago and the rewrite concept was more or less a suggestion based on my long experience with the codebase.

Were we still on 1.7.10 by now, and were I still involved in BuildCraft, I probably would've done it myself anyway - and probably broke almost every other 1.7 mod depending on BuildCraft in the process, because "all 1.7.10 mods work on 1.7.10 together" is already a lie due to the version's long lifespan - for example, Emasher's Engineer's Toolbox bundles the BC6 API, which will crash any mod providing BC support if it loads before BuildCraft itself (or a few mods providing extended BC support, such as Computronics, if BuildCraft is not present).
