Read the General problems FAQ before asking questions. If you still need help, post your specs (speccy screenshot), OS, emulator version number and details of what's wrong.

Please contribute to the wiki if you discover any inaccuracies or have relevant information to append.

READ THE WIKI BEFORE ASKING QUESTIONS LIKE:
>Where do I get games
OR
>What is the best emulator for...

Check out the wiki for the emulator you're using if you run into trouble, there may be a solution there too, often including recommendations for optimal game settings.

Is emulating the Xbox really that difficult?
I thought, it's because people aren't really interested in emulating it. Not that the console is built in a difficult way (like N64 and so on) to emulate properly.
>>
>>169869683
It uses x86, which is a big instruction set, and also NVIDIA gpu with poor documentation, and a number of other issues.
Doesn't make it impossible of course. The bigger issue is that there are almost no worthwhile exclusives, so pretty much anybody who can write emulators is going to work on something else.

MEmu was running fine today until I tried installing Nox. When Nox kept crashing I uninstalled it but whenever I try to open MEmu again I get this error.

I know my computer can handle it since I was using it earlier with no problems.

Things I tried:
>uninstalled
>redownloaded a fresh copy
>cleared registry
>reinstalled
>rebooting after each install and uninstall

I don't really know what's wrong with it but when I try to force open MEmusvc in Services it's telling me it can't find the file. But when I try opening it in my folders it opens but Services still says it's closed.

Also I noticed my 'Com Component State' is abnormal. I tried Googling it but I can't find any information on it.
Anyone know the problem?

Because Jabo's plugin is broken and closed source so it's never getting fixed. The reason PJ64 has had shitty audio for the past few years is because there was no practical alternative plugin.

RE2 N64 is mechanically the best version thanks to its improved control system.

>>
>>169881836
>Nice meem.
Capcom love the meme so much they adopted the control scheme for every single fixed camera angle RE game going forward.

>>169881913
>Do you have no eyes?
My eyes see the game running at 30fps. Should check some footage and step through frame-by-frame, though.
>>
>>169881913
>I never understood people who were vehemently opposed to tank controls. Do you have cerebral palsy? Do you really have that much trouble adapting to a different control scheme?
You can't run in a circle with traditional tank controls. They're an awful way of handling character movement that ignores that humans love to move in random 360 degree directions at will.
>>
>>169882023
>You can't run in a circle with traditional tank controls
Except you can. You can turn while moving forward in every single RE game.
>>
>>169882023
>They're an awful way of handling character movement that ignores that humans love to move in random 360 degree directions at will
Are you fucking autistic? You are playing a video game with a different rule set from real life. Did you really think this was a good argument?
>>
>>169882102
>>169882167
When you're playing Haunting Ground, you can run in a tight circle. You can't do this with tank controls because tank controls don't let you run forward and then suddenly run sideways. They're a crippling control scheme that originated with D-pads and there's a reason N64 games almost completely abandoned them for third person games.

Tank controls are bad. 3D controls are good. Capcom agrees.
>>
>>169882102
I dare you to run in a circle in a 3 meter wide hallway using tank controls without hitting the wall.
>>
>>169882361

>>169882440

>>
>>169882440

You run past it and then quick turn and do it again.
Why would you want to run circle around a zombie in the first place?
>>
>>169881971
Capcom knows jackshit. Try playing Fatal Frame with the so called "better" control scheme and see how fucking awful it is.

>Except the fact that RE until 4 had tank controls and RE4 also happens to be the best selling and best received resident evil game in the series.
RE5 and RE6 are neck-and-neck with it despite being released on fewer platforms. Neither have true tank controls for normal movement, and RE6 doesn't have tank controls except when sprinting.
>>
>>169883047
>No they didn't
REMAKE HD and RE0 HD both use it by default. If RE2 Remake has fixed camera angles, there is 100% chance it'll use RE2 N64 controls by default.
>>
>>169883365
> "they adopted the control scheme for every single fixed camera angle RE game going forward."
>RE2 N64 released October 1999
>RECV released February 3, 2000

>>
>>169883751
I think you're misinterpreting what "going forward" means.

Capcom didn't MAKE RE2 N64. Once they started remastering the old RE games, they adopted the N64 control system as the default and will seemingly continue using it into the future.
>>
>>169884279
>I think you're misinterpreting what "going forward" means.
>"Going Forward"
>"From this point on. Typically used to indicate a change in previous behavior or actions"
There wasn't any major change coming from CAPCOM after they were aware of RE2 N64 with one exception, they even stuck to tank control in every style of RE up until RE5.

>Capcom didn't MAKE RE2 N64.
But they approved of it's release and obviously knew about the change made to it.

> they adopted the N64 control system as the default and will seemingly continue using it into the future.
And that not what's being argued here, CAPCOM stuck with tank control well after RE2 N64, even even REmake there were still games that use tank controls so making a statement such as "they adopted the control scheme for every single fixed camera angle RE game going forward."

Further development in next-gen emulators (specifically CEMU and RPCS3) will lower the hardware needed to run games? Or will I need a next-gen video card no matter what?
>>
>>169902178
By the time Cemu and RPCS3 get into a usable state the average hardware will catch up.

In case of RPCS3 the system requirements are surprisingly low for some games. Just look up that 60FPS Rainbow Moon video. PS3's architecture also lends itself better for multicore CPUs so it won't stay a shitshow like Dolphin.
>>
>>169902178
>Further development in next-gen emulators (specifically CEMU and RPCS3) will lower the hardware needed to run games?

Maybe, maybe not. Probably not. Emulator performance is like a bell curve, shit early on, then it gets better as they optimize code for most standard use cases, add fastpaths, speedhacks, etc., then it becomes shit again when they rewrite performance critical chunks of code to be more accurate in order to fix the remaining 1% of games.

>>169902350

>>169902393
good thing cemu has official docs
>>
>>169903102
That doesn't have much to do with performance, it just means faster progress/less guesswork, but if the end goal is 100% accuracy having docs won't magically make your emulator perform faster than a 100% accurate emulator that didn't have them.

It looks like it's about as good as Haswell in general with some area where it beats Skylake and some where it barely goes above Sandy Bridge.

Apparently the 8 core use two modules (CCX) and there's some bottleneck caused by transfer between those two and since the OS likes to shuffle threads around it apparently causes lost performance in some cases where ot all thread are used by a specific program, might get the same treatement as Bulldozer and get an OS patch that boosts performance a bit by changing how win handles threads but I wouldn't bet on it.

You sat that as if gaming can't be handled for the most part by Sandy Bridge or even Clarkdale CPUs even today, the 1800X is meant to go against the big 8C/16T 10C/20T intel CPUs and for a fraction of the price you get similar performance to those so it's a win on that front.
Pretty much the only thing Ryzen needs to be competitive with intel gaming wise is release their 4C CPU under 200, and if the things about OC being better/ CCXs bottlenecking / L3 cache management being shite but fixable / memory management being shite but fixable turn out to be true it'll just be the cherry on top.

Not my fault if retards can't prevent themselves from falling the the hype train over and over, it was obvious from the start Ryzen wasn't gonna compete directly with intel for the most part.
Most of the bench showing AMD on par with intel use GPU limited scenarios, and all the ones I've seen showing an advantage for AMD are using BF1 which is likely optimized for it considering how close DICE and AMD generally work together.

Seems like you don't remember the P4 era then or the Phenom 2 era either for that matter.
In the first case intel was getting massively pounded in the ass (I'm talking $250 or less CPUs destroying their $1000 flagship in every possible way) and never even got close to dropping prices on anything and they kept at it for years until the Core solo/duo releases
In the second case AMD was very competitive with the Intel offering and intel responded by launching a massively overpriced CPU that was really just meant to beat AMDs flagship regardless of cost and didn't drop any prices on the rest of their CPUs.

There's no reason to think intel will do anything about ryzen when it's not even as impressive as the Phenom 2 was.

Gotta ask here since there's no ROM hacking thread on either /vg/ or /v/.

I wanted to replay Brutal Mario/Super Kitiku Mario since it's been a few years - but I can't get the game running properly.

I've tried a wide variety of Emulatoes, Patches, and ROMs in combination - but one of the following happens:

• The game kills you on intro screen.
• Checksum fail
• The custom music is missing.

The one I've gotten furthest with is using the 8.2 patch and running it in Windows ZSnes 1.51
But this version features an odd overworld, and a lot of mechanics appear broken such as touching custom powerups instantly finishes the stage.

I can't recall how the hell I got it working before, but it was running perfectly with music save for a few levels. Anyone know how to get it running properly?

Retard question but how to I get inputs onto MAME+GUI? I'm trying to learn this emulator (Learned how to get games onto it, got Donkey Kong Jr on there but so far it only shows the high score board when I press a key. Probably because I haven't figured out how to insert credits or how to properly input, I dunno) and I want to figure out how I can modify the inputs so I can use my controller if it's possible, probably not because arcade sticks vary but I still wanna find out. If MAME+GUI isn't the way to go, I'll happily use any alternatives you lot suggest

That's the first thing I did when I noticed the input lag, turns out it did absolute jack, I had to set the PSP CPU to always run at the maximum frequency and setting the alternative FPS limit or whatever it's called to 60, and even then it still has input lag, just not as ridiculous as with the default settings. On the other hand with the RA port of PPSSPP I didn't notice any substantial input lag, too bad that some games don't work well on it (such as MGSPW which is unbeatable) and RA's QOL features are shit.

So is RetroArch good or no? I've been getting conflicting opinions on it from different places.

I mostly got it because people recommended Castlevania to me and said that was a good choice for making it work. I can't even remember where I was finding cores and shit for it because that was a long time ago and I'm technologically illiterate for the most part.

Right now I want to play the old Zelda games, should I try and just find an NES core for RetroArch or go with a different method?
>>
>>169996048
Retroarch is alright but its desirability depends entirely on your standards and what you are using.

The UI is a hot mess and it has a tendency to crash on the flip of a coin but it can have some unique features for certain cores.

For NES you don't need to fiddle with retroarch if you don't want to. There are dozens of perfectly acceptable standalone NES emulators with more features than RA, assuming you are on a PC.
>>
So the Dolphin bar. Is it the best way to play Wii games in general?
I've got a pretty strong PC and fifty bucks to spare. If I want to play Zelda Skyward Sword, should I spend that on an old Wii and hack it, or just get a motion+ and nunchuck and a Dolphin bar and play it emulated in HD? How's the compatibility with Skyward Sword and the whole motion plus thing?
>>
>>169991334
Thanks!
>>
>>169996048
I use it for the majority of my emulators. I use a separate frontend for launching though.
It's not hard to learn and has a lot of options but as >>169996291 says, it can be finnicky and randomly crash if something's set up wrong.
>>
>>169996485
>compatibility with Skyward Sword and the whole motion plus thing

High with original Nintendo stuff, patchy with rest. Mine chinese 2in1 works fine with dolphinbar.
>>
>>169996485
I would recommend saving up, getting a WiiU and hacking that instead. You can hack the vWii to allow USB loading of Wii games and you can also easily install games to the WiiU (or to external usb) without even needing any in-depth hacks.
>>
>>169996291
>>169996772
>The UI is a hot mess
In terms of operation? I found it to be pretty easy to use.

What about if I want to play something like OoT/MM or the GameCube games? I know that the GameBoy titles are pretty easy to mess around with without issue on standalone emulators.

I tried emulating on my phone but not having a physical controller really makes it a lot less enjoyable.

At first I really just only wanted to emulated Playstation 1 but I was too retarded to make Mednafen work without RetroArch helping me.
>>
>>169996485
As of the existence of Bluetooth passthrough the Dolphin bar is practically obsolete. Don't bother emulating Squidward sword. It has a bunch of visual glitches which will detract from the game. If you seriously want to play it then just buy a Wii, you'll need to buy a Wii motion plus anyway.
>>
>>169996897
I use RA for:
NES
SNES
GBA
GBC
Megadrive
Master System
PCE/Turbografx
Playstation1

I would recommend standalone emulators for anything else, generally due to better compatibility/accuracy more than anything.
>>
>>169996897
>What about if I want to play something like OoT/MM or the GameCube games
Then you'll want to use PJ64 and Dolphin standalone because the N64 and Dolphin cores in RA aren't worth using.

>>170000260
Oh fucking sweet. So I could just purchase a used WiiU right now for like 200 bucks, hack it, disable updates, download games like BotW, Skyward, and Bayonetta 2 and just play those?
I've skimmed over what looked like the WiiU hacking wiki and it looks like it takes a loooot of steps, but that hasn't stopped me before.
>>
>>170003816
If you get a refurbished one from nintendo then it may be even cheaper.
I don't see any reason to disable updates. I'm on the newest firmware and I doubt that there'll be any more.

WiiU hacking doesn't need to be complicated. You just need a large (32GB) SD card and an external hard-drive (if you want lots of games). You launch homebrew, launch WUP Y Installer mod and then install games from SD to system hard-drive or external USB.

I haven't hacked my vWii yet, but I doubt that it's very difficult.
>>
>>170004525
Right, gotcha. I mentioned disabling the updates because its how most of these tutorials start. And I wouldn't want a Nintendo update to come along and break or even brick my hacked machine.
The vWii is a virtual machine inside the WiiU for playing Wii and GC games, correct? I could use that as well. Man, this WiiU thing is starting to sound like the best multi-system hack machine since the PSP back in the day. GC, Wii, WiiU, plus all the retro emulators...
Any specific websites or tutorials that are worth knowing about, besides the obvious wiki stuff? Thanks, by the way!
>>
>>170004907
That's how you do backup loading for Wii and GC games, yes. You homebrew the vWii (which can be done via an exploit on the WiiU with a homebrew app) then get something like USBLoaderGX or ConfigurableUSBLoader on your vWii and run games off an external hard-drive. If you use Nintendont (for GC backups), it will use the pro controller as an emulated GC controller and you can use any HID controller and set custom configs per controller.
>>
>>170005118
OK cool. I have a gamecube already plus I can emulate it with my PS3 controller on PC, so that's not that big a priority. But if a used/refurbished WiiU and a 32gb SD card (and i guess a wiimote with motion plus) are all I need to play the games I want... It sure is intriguing.
>>

The hardware documentation isn't available to the emu devs, so they're having to go through a combination of reverse engineering, guesswork, and fixing bugs as they come up.

Plus, PS2 chips and architecture is custom-made, not using stock parts, and the design is unusual for consoles, so it's hard to understand, apparently even for devs and compsci types.

You wanna contriboot, best learn some C/C++.

Unless you still run Windows XP, in which case, joke is on you, and no new hardware will even allow you to run it anymore, so better stockpile that old obsolete hardware.

How's it feel being obsolete? MS doesn't even want Win32 apps running anymore on Windows 10, haven't you heard? zsnes is close to being obsolete.

Nope, for whatever reason, the Orphis build bot displays the commits out of chronological order, instead in order of commit number. Look carefully at the dates and times for each commit.

I gotta admit, it's pretty confusing. How can a later-numbered commit be done earlier in time?

>integer scaling

Enjoy having an inaccurate pixel aspect ratio.

Very few consoles were intended to have 1:1 PAR square pixels. NES and SNES for example output with a 8:7 PAR, which is rectangular, and other consoles use different PARs depending on their output resolution.

Pixellate allows you to simply maintain the correct PAR while having a 1 pixel blur on the edges that are doubled from fractional scaling.

You can still use steganography to post images with embedded files. The files just won't be able to be as large as before.
>>

That said, open that in winamp. Didn't expect it to actually post.
>>
>>170087871
>>170088018

With steganography you can encode files in the color channel of images. You could even spread out the CP data among many images, requiring many of them to assemble the final file.

Hell you could do this with the post's text if you wanted to. So who knows? Maybe some retard's shitposting has fragments of CP in it, and if you collected enough shitposting and extracted just the right bits in the right way, maybe you'd get illegal images.

I think it's trouble trying to ban stuff like this. You're essentially saying a number is illegal.

>>
>>170088505
Yeah. So how can these lawyer faggots show up and say a number is illegal?

A 100 kibibyte file is made out of 819200 bits. For every bit, there are log10(2) decimal digits. This means 100 kibibytes can encode numbers with up to 246603 decimal digits.

If a CP file has 100 kibibytes, then a number x such that 0 <= numdigits(x) <= 246603 is illegal. You cannot legally know, print or store this number.

How can they possibly do this? We all saw what happened when they tried to make other numbers such as the HD DVD dencryption keys illegal to "know"... People posted it everywhere.

Doubt people would just go and post CP everywhere in protest though

>>
>>170090727

>>
>>169996048
Here are the reasons I've been using it for the past 5+ years:

Shaders. I can use CRT shaders or anything else with every single emulator core.

Unified settings. I can be able to use the same or similar settings for every core. This means I can output to a real CRT on every emulator by setting the resolution in the base config, then make minor adjustments per-core or per-game with overrides when needed. These settings can carry over between different platforms as well, if the platform supports the necessary features.

Gamepad driven menu. This means I can change settings or load a different game without having to put down the controller and pick up a mouse.

Gamepad autoconfig. I can map my gamepad once and save an autoconfig and never have to map it ever again. Especially if you submit the autoconfig file into their database. The remap system (or using overrides) can cover any slight adjustments.

Dynamic audio rate control. By adjusting the audio output rate, it will allow perfect synchronization with your monitor's refresh rate, and dynamically keeps the audio buffers from being saturated or underrun each frame to prevent any stuttering or audio crackle that results from throttling on audio.

Netplay. The netplay system was decent before but it's becoming much better these days so it will probably be the best way to netplay when the lobby system gets finished.

Other things like audio DSP filters, input lag reducers like OpenGL Hard Sync and Frame Delay, Vulkan support, etc. are all things that are nice to have that you probably won't get elsewhere.

The Linux version is probably the overall best version thanks to having support for KMS, JACK, and being able to compile for ARM devices like Raspberry Pi.

I had one surgeon who was a bit full of himself and had a go at a worker in starbucks for asking him if he wanted milk in his americano, because it's traditionally served without milk. He also slagged off the other surgeons' practice behind their backs, even when it wasn't related to his speciality.

Hello. I am using PCSX-R PGXP as recommended by the wiki.

Is there a button to speed up the gameplay? (frame skipping I believe). I was using the psp emulator and with that I could hold down a button on the controller and speed up the gameplay. Was great for loading screens or grinding in Final Fantasy. Don't see an option for that with PCSX-R PGXP.

I'm looking to emulate the WiiU. Is it difficult to do? Is there minimum system spec to get smooth framerate?
>>
>>170160904
Emulating the Wii U is unusual because it doesn't run on a "typical" emulator. Its not just a program you boot and load up your roms on like you're probably used to. It will be eventually, maybe 5, 10, or 15 years, but not yet. Right now you have to have a PC that can also run Linux in addition to windows, because you'll be running some of the processes on a virtual machine. You can choose to not do this, but you lose sound and the graphics have this ugly pink hue thats truly not worth it - trust me. If you know how to do that, you need to download the game files from somewhere, but the only places unless you want to go to a generic torrent site require you to "like" a post on facebook in order to access the download. It's annoying, but its what we've got. Also, you'll have to know a little bit of C++ because you'll need to write some code in the emulator's database for each different game you want to play. This can range from a few lines (Captain Toad's Treasure Tracker) to a few paragraphs (Mario Kart 8) to a series of 6 short novels published by mcgraw-hill (Super Smash Bros). Less complex games require less code, while more complex games require more code. It's just the unfortunate state of emulate we're in when a relatively new system hits the market that's more complicated than what we're used to. Oh, also, make sure you or a friend or relative has access to a WiiU, because you'll have to use an SD card to transfer some files for you if you want to be able to play updates or DLC for games. I've tried to find these files online, but all I've seen are really shady links that require you to view ads - I guess people aren't willing to put their own Wii U info up for others to use.

Anyway, you can find the specifics of all this on the wiki.

No, you can't play Breath of the Wild yet.

Hello, yesterday someone in /v/ and I guess he is from here recommended me that "WiiU USB Helper" program to get ROM. I downloaded the new Zelda, it's patch and DLC but CEMU doesn't even see it as a game.

So now I am guessing it's because I have made the program to decrypt the files after downloading or I need to do another complex step

Which is it?
>>
What is this Shader Cache business about in Cemu? I heard if you download one cache from from a finished game you get less stutter or something like that? I don't understand what any of that is about, what's the big idea?
>>
>>170173942
Decrypt them both, copy the updater decrypted files to the main game's decrypted files folder and overwrite.
Read the wiki next time.
>>
>>170175873
Games in Cemu have to generate shaders to live on your graphics card when it encounters them. This causes drops in framerate (shader-stutter) while it creates them.
If you have a transferred shadercache, you won't need to generate any, so you won't get shader stutter.

Hey guys can someone help me out? I'm emulating RE 2 on ePSXe. From one room to the next the graphics completely changed. It's not an obvious thing so at first I thought maybe I just didn't realize how dated the graphics were, but I had just beat Leon's whole scenario and started with Claire so it wasn't like I just started playing. It was perfect before, but now it's odd. Not broken in any way, but just going from one room to the next the resolution seems to have degraded, and in the darker areas there are just plain blocks of the color/pixels as clear as day, which is how I know something has gone wrong.

Issue is I've been playing all day and it just started. I tried reloading and resetting the game, didn't fix it, so I tried loading an earlier save state, which also didn't fix it. I haven't changed any of my settings since I started playing the game. What gives?

how much are you paying for that old hardware?

Around 700 euros.

rip off

Probably, but I'm guessing it's because of the economics. Trust me, I can't find one with such specs for a lower price.

>Stopped reading right there. Many articles are written by people who have too close of a connection to the very software they're constantly pushing as "the best option." If the emulation wiki wants to be taken seriously, then it needs to do away with ratings and reviews, and simply provide neutral, encyclopedic coverage documenting emulators' functions and platform availability.

Is our wiki biased?

Against i5 4460. It could be as fast as cheap haswell with twice cores.

nope, it suffers from autism

CEMU team gave a deadline, March 10 is the possible release of the BOTW update
>>
>>170205235
No because it's meant to be a guide to help people get a good emulation setup with the best available tools not neutral documentation of everything.

There needs to be something that is willing to say "A and B are shit use C for best results".

Ryzen has shit single core performance, it will be trash for emulation.

It would be better if accuracy based emulators were suggested at all costs.

For example:
SNES : Higan
N64: MAME/CEN64
Genesis: Exodus
GBA: mGBA

So its true. Emulators are officially an industry.

The subject is video games, not emulators. He's talking about the video game industry.

I'm new to emulation and the first game I want to emulate is Skyward Sword. When I boot it up, it gets stuck on the "attach wii motion +" screen. And I don't see an option for that in the controllers menu. How do I get past this?

I'm running 5.0-2750.
>>
>>170217483
Read the wiki.

listen to cranes and gothic rock or dont bother with emulators!!!

>CEN64
Holy shit, Rogue Squadron is actually fucking playable on CEN64!

Only gets 20-30 VI/s on my gayming laptop, and you have to use JoyToKey or similar if you wanna use a controller, but that's plenty better than PJ64.

Been wanting to play RS on emulation for quite a while, but PJ64 could never get it done. To be fair, PJ64 did better with other games. But for RS, CEN64 seems to be the way to go.
>>
>>170219494
Oh yeah, get a frontend like cen64-qt if you're not one of them scum-sucking command-line oldfags.
>>
I'd like to play 3D World. Is Cemu worth a shot on a Haswell i3 and a 960?

(I understand that it's impossible to really say whether any particular combination will work well and I also understand that it's constantly changing... just looking for a ballpark of whether it's even worth trying)
>>
>>170210061
There should be two lists.
>If you just want to play a given game as of right now, use:
and
>If you want to know which emulator has the strongest focus on accuracy and preservation, see:
>>
>>170220609
I'd say yes

I'm running a phenom 960T and I can run SM3DW fullspeed.

just remember to download the shader cache thing to get no stuttering
>>
>>170220609
Where did you grab 3D World?
>>
>>170220827
Thanks anon! Your chip is slower per-core than mine but it's 4c4t vs my 2c4t, and since the Wii U is tri-core I will be emulating a machine with more cores than I have... I'll give it a try and report my results.

>>170221104
I haven't, yet.
>>
>>170210061
>Exodus
Did that ever go anywhere?
>>
>>170221247
I've heard CEMU emulates the entire PPC CPU on a single thread.
>>
>>169869402
It might not be possible (in realtime) with current and foreseeable CPU tech. The speed of silicon CPUs isn't going to increase very much, and the current crop of x86 based consoles are clocked pretty high. The GPU can be tackled in an HLE way but the CPU has to run at a useful speed first... and I'm not sure it's possible.
>>
>>170219608
do you seriously have to convert everything to .z64?

Page 10, folks; where's the new bread?
>>
>>170223830
The fastest emulated system so far with fully playable games is, correct me if I'm wrong, the 1.2GHz RISC in the WiiU. The PS4's CISC cores are 33% faster and there are 8 of them vs 3.

If you think that's feasible, what about the PS4 Pro at 2.1GHz? What about hypothetical next gen consoles with, let's say, 3.5GHz chips? Where is the line because surely you agree that at some point it becomes impossible for the host CPU to keep up. This isn't something that can be fixed with small incremental updates and some healthy overclocking, it is a fundamental issue with the current tech.
>>
>>170224532
If the hardware is similar enough, couldn't the games just be ported straight over some day?
>>
Status update, Mario 3D World works well on my i3. It was very laggy in the intro cutscene but seems fine in-game.
>>
>>170167735

As a Vita owner, if a Vita emulator means a decent tool for Vita homebrew development (aka fucking N64 or Dreamcast emus), then it's worth the effort
