If that fucking smithing text WASN'T purple but was white instead there are some people that would instantly dismiss the fucking bag on the ground without even looking at the text that would pop up cause they wouldn't even hover over it.
To avoid this possibility they made it purple, as thats the highest rarity for a good bit, to catch your eye and make you want to pick it up.

Can we get some solid verifiable proof that texts are effected by anything? For all we know they drop based on the day of the week and the last two digits of your gold total.

Yeah pretty much get as much amrita earned during LW on your accessories slot and tons of amrita on yokai on other gears. The only human boss is Oda so yokai amrita will net you more.

Also don't ever let sake buff to disappear. Apply another before it does to avoid having the kill count from the sake reset.

Do I need to worry about strength if I use light/medium armor and don't use axes?

The things you look for in Divine equipment, regardless if it's found or forged, is the following:

>Is it level 150 or higher
If not, trash it.
>Does it have an inheritable slot.
If not, it's trash. If so, is the inheritable any good or will you be looking to replace it?
>Is it part of a set?
Set bonuses make literally all non-set equipment garbage barring the rare exclusions such as Kodama Bowl hats.

Once you unlock access to Divine rarity gear, all other rarities of gear become pointless and shouldn't be in your equipment slots (accessories are above this rule for awhile into NG+). Break down purples to feed your forging habits, and sell everything else. Hell, seeing as you might consider save scumming your forging sprees, just get a decent supply of materials (I like to keep a stock of 150 to 200 of each material) and then sell anything that isn't green.

When you're balancing which stat to level up in early game, just focus on one armor type (light/medium/heavy) and raise the two stats required to activate the bonuses. Once you get almost through NG you'll have enough stat points to throw around to level everything to 15ish and not worry about that again.

When you forge your own gear, it'll have lower stat requirements. For example an Iga Jonin piece of armor usually wears like 16 skill at high levels, but when you forge your own it'll only require 6 or so.

Stealth scrolls are secretly super helpful.
Catwalk allows you to run at full speed with no detection from enemies hearing you.
Suppa allows you to WALK (very important that you walk or use Catwalk) in front of enemies without setting them off. You can use Suppa before a human (Fake Muneshige, Sakon, Saika, Obsidian, Nobunaga) boss fight, and they won't see you when the fight starts and stand still instead of rushing at you at the gate.
And if you use Suppa and Catwalk at the same time, you can walk around the edges of a Yokai portal without triggering them.
The blinding egg is also sometimes useful. It keeps Saika from shooting as often while under its effects, and it causes enemies to fuck up their tracking while the combo attack. Use it on Muneshige, and he'll just combo into thin air while you walk around him.
If you're fighting something to retarded to block or can't block, Kunai shit out ki damage.
If you're using an elemental weapon that isn't fire, grab the fire shurikens because they can set off the Fire status pretty easily to set up for a Discord.
The extra ammo capacity is pretty neat, if you like using the ranged options.

Tiger Running Scroll is a godsend for running through old levels, and it's pretty cheap to invest into. Use with Bunny spirit for maximum sanics.

Blinding shell is the toppest of tier. I used it on the ice bitch and she literally just shot icicles into a corner the rest of the fight while I beat her ass. It fucks with the enemies detection. They will swing at you then you dodge away and they keep attacking in that direction. People think sloth is broken, lol.
The ground spikes and traps are really good. Of course poison, bombs and kunai have their place on specific builds. Catwalking, suppa, tiger running, and quick change scrolls are god tier. Especially the stealth ones. Just run through the level undetected no bullshit in 2 minutes every time.

So I just now beat the game and I tried to avoid reading any metagame shit until now. I haven't forged or reforged a single piece of equipment or soulmatched anything. I've disassembled all the blues and purples I didn't want up until this point, and I have nearly 2 million coin saved up. My stats are probably wierd and shitty, haven't respec'd once and none of my equipment is above level 150 if that's even possible.The only green items I have are the ones you get at the end of the (second to) last mission. I have upper+lower level forge limits maxed and forging cost at 8/15. What do I do now? I want rediculous weapons and armor and stuff.

If you're not using all the tools out of Ohmyo and Ninjutsu, you should, regardless of build

If you want the most damage in the game, get all the Fanatic's set, which gives Critical status bonuses, then spec all of your gear/skills for those critical bonuses, then use Suzaku and 1kat with the attack from behind bonuses. Pair THAT with Talismans and even most bosses die in less than a single combo from behind.

While that is fun and all, I encourage you to experiment and try out different builds of your own design! Find out what you can create! The game is still fresh--no need to just copy what someone else has done. Experiment, Innovate, and have fun.

I prefer the main game to the Alpha heavily, as many of the changes are welcome. Sloth requires much more ohmyo investment to get now, too, although that doesn't matter much in mid/late game.

What surprises me is that bosses drop far less Yokai Realm than before. Kekkai used to be the really busted shit, but now I find I don't really need it.

Honestly, I want the Soulsborne shitters who think that buffs/debuffs should be practically ineffective need to fucking leave.

People whine and whine about Sloth, but all it does is slow the enemy down. You still have to land the talisman hit and some enemies are still capable of wrecking you. Is it a solution to 1 on 1 fights most the time? Sure. But that's the fucking point. If the debuff was weaker, it'd be pointless to take.

I enjoy that debuffs and buffs are actually fucking significant in this game. It costs 8 skill points and a quick item slot to run only 2 Sloth Talismans. Since they have a Jutsu cost of 3, that's all you'll be using out of magic as well unless you put points into the stat.

I just really don't like how much people rag on NioH's interesting and useful buffs, because I really hate when resources that I get in games are lackluster and underwhelming.

If I decide I want to slow a guy, it's nice that I can build into it and it's universally effective with some fringe cases where it isn't.

I prefer that over investing in a resource that offers a meager bonus or something that's ineffective except for in situations where it wouldn't matter anyway.

Kind of like how Poison in most Final Fantasy doesn't affect bosses--there's almost never a regular enemy that it's worth using over just doing straight damage, so it becomes practically useless outside of some niche encounters. The reason people dog pile sloth is because it's available early, easily, and encourages shitters to remain shitters rather than attaining gud. Confusion/discord/elemental rape would have gotten similar treatment if the same shitters actually knew what it was. I wish people would stop recommending Nioh as a souls alternative, they arent even anything alike, if Nioh is supposed to be souls like they failed hard and miserably.

In my opinion,
Windstorm is usually better for humans because they tend to dodge. And not only it is quicker to get out of than water sword, but it may get a hit or two after they dodge, shielding you effectively.
Water swords absolutely devastates bosses, yokai and everything that will stay still long enough. It is possible to use in humans, yes, but way more difficult.

Personally, with the -1 accessory, I like to use WotW sword, bow, and chest piece for the 4 set bonus on WotW for the (i think) 10% close combat damage, while still having the kingo set for the damage from behind bonus. (It also doesnt hurt that the WotW sword has water on it, and A+ scaling with heart right from the get go)

How do I maximize heavy axe damage well. I went tatenashi without chest, got like 50 stam and 25 aren't, CtA Stamina A+ on nigga axe but it's kinda underwhelming. Skills I go gigganigga armor? Yet to farm magatama.

I just did a looooot of soul matching while in NG, I had the trophy by the 3rd region of NG
Also always check what Tome and Muramasa say after doing main missions

i really recommend you learn to use that mid stance parry, you can then oneshot revenants and it most humanoid bosses can be parried aswell, it's pretty annoying at first but once you get it down, it's pretty damn satisfying

also make sure to make good use of that huge range of the mid stance strong attack
