It's actually kind of surprising how hard Ganon fucked them over this time. Usually his "rule" lasts all of a few days before in the downfall timeline before Link fucks him up. This time he managed to catch everyone off guard, use their own plan against them and then fucked them up so hard that they resorted to using Plan Z that's plan Zelda and wait for Link to rez to pull them out of the fire.

Ganon pretty much had it in the bag and if they didn't have the Triforce, they would have lost.

Wrong. Impa said 10,000 years ago they were built in anticipation of another Ganon attack, and were used successfully. They then became dormant at some point after this, until 100 years before Breath of the Wild, at which point they were unearthed and you know the rest.

Now I propose a theory. After Skyward Sword, Link informs Zelda and the sheikah (who presumably come out of hiding) about the curse Demise prepared for them. In order to prepare for the returning evil, they reopen the factories and build the robots. Then the first calamity spoken of in the legends happens, and is successfully repelled by the sheikah machines. However, the King at the time of this event is fearful of these constructs, and banishes them from the kingdom, having them all sealed away. This is more or less mentioned in the tapestry that people assumed was the story of 100 years ago, but was really 10,000 years ago.

Anyway, all other games in the Zelda series take place within the 10,000 year gap, and this game starts up when one King of Hyrule finally uncovers the ancient prophecy and decides to go excavating.

What are some recommended sidequests to do. They're starting to pile up and I don't know which are worth it.

Not sure what connection you're trying to make with the timeline here, but yes calamity Ganon is bascially just a corporeal form of Demise's hatred. Ganon has been resurrectec/killed/sealed and resurrected again so many times that he has lost the entirety of the human once known as Ganondorf. All that's left is the literal fog of hatred that Demise cursed Link and Zelda with, but since pretty much immediately after Skyward Sword the name of Demise was lost to history and eventually replaced with Ganon, they call it Calamity Ganon.

Basically, Calamity Ganon is more closely related to Demise than it is to Ganondorf.

Buy the fire elixirs from Foothill Stable. Buy 3 of them to be safe. Get to the Southern Mine. Talk to the dude in the helmet, he is hylian. He wants 10 fireproof lizards. Do it and get armor.

Easiest method, since there are a TON of them that spawn in the mine itself, is take a picture and put it on your sensor so you can constantly go after them. You need to crouch to get them since they scurry at any standing noise

Don't listen to scrubs, he's not that hard. Shoot him in the face with an arrow for a stun, hit him twice, then mount him with A for an easy 25% off his HP bar.

The hard part is in knowing when to shoot, otherwise you can just dodge and slowly kill him with slo-mo attacks.

Did you get the camera? Did you get sensor+ from Henato village research place?

Both at the same spot, Henato village. Basically you take a picture with your camera, open up your map and press Y which lets you swap to shrine sensor or picture sensor. You can also buy pictures, so you can find specific enemies/weapons easier

The weapons you can get from amiibo are the same as the ones I can find throughout the game, just with a stat buff attached (which I've noted in the list). So if someone compiles an item list, you can just refer to that for specific stats.
