Just need some quick advice.

My Shadow of Chernobyl game freezes any time I click anything in the setting menu, the exit button, and just half the buttons in the menu. It freezes any time I have to go through a loading screen into a new area too. However I can fix this by win+l-ing to my lockscreen, typing in my password, and maximizing it again. Whenever I do that it's past whatever loading screen / button freeze and it (usually) registers it. Any ideas how to fix this?

Then probably on the level you want to go is weapon with wrong parameter in it's config file. Start new game and spawn one by one every weapon from the mod and use it, when the game crashes you will know which of them causes troubles.

In STCoP, every weapon that can attach multiple scopes in the game has multiple entries in its own ltx.

So Weapon1 and Weapon1_Scope is the same exact gun model but with a scope attached to the model on the latter. Where as the former is without the scope attached to the model.

Maybe. Now I'm not an expert nor will I claim to know exactly why there is multiple entries, but I would assume that when you attach a scope to a weapon, it calls for that entry that points to the model with the scope attached to it.

I could be wrong, but that's just what I am assuming. Otherwise, only other thing I could think of is that Weapon1_Scope1 is just to be able to spawn that specific weapon with that specific scope.

Yes, also sk1 and sk2 weapons have the same models/animations/parameters only their skin is different, you can add like ak74m and ak74_ski1 for variety buth they still are the same weapons(except quest givers, they only accept base versions, no ski1 etc.)

Does the health drop when eating cooked mutant meant is related to instant radiation boost? Can you change the radiation into x per/s? I find that at current state eating that stuff has no benefit. Not only you need equipment to cook it, you also need alcohol or anything that will decrease enough radiation per second, and then on top of that you will always end up with less health, forcing you to use medkit after few meals since you don't regenerate health either. It's better to just sell the stuff and buy clean food.
Also, the movement while aiming is slower when you're standing, but the same when crouching, what file determines that?

There aren't any near by. And I can't really move him either way; he's in a little sniper's nest, and his squad leader won't give me the option to follow me, presumably because Mercs are neutral. There was a giant firefight with the Bandits occupying the first half of the Dead City but he's so well positioned nobody even got a shot off on him.

Plus, he's rank 51; Zhenka Professor, expert Merc in an exo. His rifle looks scary and if I complete the hit there's no way i'll be able to escape the city alive.

I'm playing CoC 1.4.22 with STCoCk, the outfit addon, absolute textures and a few other misc. mods
Every time I switch levels with a squad, the members are no longer part of my squad when I enter the new level, and they no longer want to join up either.. in addition, none of the search & rescue NPCs will "join my squad" to follow me back to the quest-giver. Any ideas?

It depends on what you like. I liked CoC a lot but found it too easy. CoM is just Misery on top of CoC. I didn't like Misery for CoP at all, but I think it works on the SoC/CS maps better than the CoP ones. Hobo phase can last way longer than CoC. It has problems but what mod doesn't? Try CoC, if it's too easy and boring, try CoM.

Mercs are not "bros" with anyone the only reason they don't shoot said factions is because they do not pose danger to whoever finances them but you can bet your ass they would kill a loner for a miserable 5000 rubles

I've played CoC an unhealthy amount. Heres a couple tips for money.

horde most higher tier assault rifles. I really like to hold onto any 9x39 weapons, PKMs, and RPGs. NATO weapons are really good too, just not the best. If you really want to make money stupid fast make a trip through Pripyat, NPP, or anything north of the NPP. Monolith carry a lot of high value weapons, mainly ones that will net 30-60k+ per gun, regardless of the health on it. Another thing, Nimble's mission where he wants a gun pays out more than if you got one from a random stalker, but you have to repair it to full health. That is not an issue due to the massive profit margin, but you do have to have the money to fix it to begin with. I tend to save my PKMs and RPGs for him.

Mutants really aren't super profitable, but there are several who are. Pseudos, Controllers, Chimeras, and Burers are. I personally dont actively hunt mutants, but if I see/hear them on my way to a place I usually kill them really quick, once you have decent weapons none of them are bad at all. I was a fan of keeping a grenade launcher (AK with one, the grenades are common as dirt) on my weapon just so I could be able to 1-2 shot the nastier ones I came across. I usually hold onto my mutant parts for when I work my way to an ecologist base.

Artifacts are best saved for trading with stalkers. again just horde all of the artifacts you find and wait for stalkers to request them, you are always guranteed to get a full health weapon out of the deal. I usually do loops through certain areas. for example from bar, go to truck cemetary, then dark valley, garbage, agroprom, yantar (drop off mutant parts you found along the way) then wild and back to bar. Obviously hit all the anomaly fields and while you are doing this you can be killing mutants along the way to further your stash even more.

Best weapon mods when i was here last were AO3 or STCoP, at the time the differences were in general AO3 guns had worse slightly more realistic accuracy but not by much. Comparing the weapons, AO3 had more western weapons, better assault & battle rifles, STCoP had better sniper weapons & eastern bloc guns.

There is supposed to be a huge update to STCoP but i guess its still not out. Also an anon when I was last here was doing a merge of both AO3 & STCoP into one which would be god tier but I'm not sure what happened with that.

The phantoms should be absolutely harmless if you have the good psi helmet or good enough psi resistance. They're still annoying because they're distracting, but at least they don't fuck your shit up.

The only real options you have to wack these spooks are this.

I know this is an incredibly late response, but weapon soup is for version 1.32(?) Or more simply the patch right before COC 1.4.

When I get back from class, I'm going to try adding some weapons from the soup into my game with AO3 installed.

If I can get 3-5 of them working with no issue, I'm going to try and fix all that's salvageable from weapon soup and put it into an AO3 pack/friendly download addon.

I have Ao3 installed with 4am in pripyat currently, and it has every gun I really want currently.

But because I have it installed currently and am just working on adding some weapon soup assets to it, successfully doing so really only leaves me to start salvaging things for an Ao3 pack as a starting point.

If I accomplish that and STCOP continues to be updated becoming the new main weapon pack, I'll of course repeat it for stcop.

The lack of updates for Ao3 really helps me for making a project out of it with a stable starting point and assets to work with for now.

I'm playing DoctorX Questlines and my bandit char just got a quest from Sultan to retrieve documents from the Yantar X lab.

What's a better way of doing it? Stacking psi resists and psi resists drugs or killing the whole Ecologist camp to get to Sakharov and they kill him and loot the helmet.

The screenshot is an example of the SitRep mod I made. You get a PDA that when used, triggers all non-hostile squad leaders in a 1km area to report in. They'll say where they're at, and either that everything's cool, or that they're currently fighting an enemy (in that case, a controller).

The point of it is so not only do you potentially know what's going on in the area, but it helps you to avoid mistaking loners for bandits at night, because only FRIENDLY units will report in.

Not sure if it still works or not, but in earlier versions of CoC you could go to another area with a chopper, like Agroprom or Cordon because of how close they are to swamps, and destroy the one in those areas to complete the quest. Honestly it would probably be easier to just fuck around for awhile and come back to the swamps.

From what I have played generally the lower quality the armor, the lighter it will be, but that also means more loot you can bring back. Honestly a stalker/sunrise suit with a camelbak and 2 titianium frames is what I used until I got my seva suit (Jupiter-ish) I also got the upgrades to lower the weight and increase what you could carry plus the additional artifact slot. After upgrades thats suit WON'T let you be an undying tank, but it will let you carry back decent amounts of loot (60-70ish kg carryweight) Just be careful and don't be reckless about what you do. One thing I would like to add is don't look at they weight of the armor itself, see what it will be after the lighter armor and more carry weight upgrades. Add those numbers together and thats the "real" weight of your armor. If thats doesnt allow you to run decent distances or take at least a couple rounds before dying then it isnt worth it. I went leather jacket > stalker suit / Beril (for really shitty situations, heavier but more armor) then the SEVA suit. The SEVA is probably the best all around armor you can get, its pricey, but it is so very worth it. Hope this helps STALKER.

The only redeeming factor in the leather jackets is that they are the lightest armor to have equipment slots. Everything else about them is shit. I'm pretty sure the CS suit has 3-4 slots and that means at least a 12-16 kg gain even after armor weight, assuming you are using titanium grids. Most other jackets only weigh 4-5 kg and you get about 4 kg per titanium grid. More carryweight = more loot if you can survive.

Thats why the ecologist found some new friends to run around with after his other ones died. This isnt a joke, groups that are missing a member can join other groups as long as it doesnt exceed the squad leader's rep level. Usually being 3, 4, or 5 man groups. If you find more than that its usually 2 or more groups heading in the same direction and taking the same path.
