It is dumb. A class whose role is focused on offense when in possession of the ball should not also excel at defense, especially more so than the class who specializes in defense when not in possession of the ball.

They are the closest thing this game has to a pure offense unit. Why should strikers be given the gift of perfect defense as well?

Too many people rely on totems like Elaine (who is fast as fuck) and for a long time they were not running enough active passing assists. Normal elaine pass + invincible striker who could ball hold at 1hp and tank a whole line. They have been coasting like this for over a year now.

Hopefully this means those shitter silla/Elaine/William rainbow front lines will vanish. It will be too slow and without William being invincible and he becomes a slave to the silla pass.

Some yolo teams and others use her for the triple totem. There are not many speed boosting attackers out there and AS is a huge part of the current meta.

As an attacker she could not reliably crit under her own power without burning an active. This patch should help.

And I do think she got enough power to contest with meta midlines. Glab or SHoT Lynia will be very competitive. She will do a truckload of damage whether attacking or being attacked, plus her amazing totem. And the crit buff is nice because it gives more flexibility in how you can use her. So it's definitely a very significant change.

She does feel like a new character in the sense that she warrants a second look.

If people are going to explore adding attackers to their rainbow teams Lynia is going to be a popular choice. She was the best non-legend attacker in the game even before this upgrade.

VF is unfortunately instantly killed when she tries to steal from meta or any other player with an attack stone, and she is instantly killed when literally any player in the game attacks her. VF is a suicidal lunatic and one of the least reliable attackers when it comes to doing anything besides sharing totems.

Lynia can at least kill by stealing, kill by pen, and kill people who try to pen her (light players who break out of the backline tend to die when trying to pen through her, but Duke will obviously fuck her up).

I have tried it off and on. I find Khirel is no better or worse at stopping Victoria so I find it didn't make enough of a difference. Both VF or Khirel will overkill on a pen but be killed when attacked by Vic, and Vic is in that spot 90% of the time.

May as well just keep the totems.

I sometimes swap in Metatron to put in front of Vic, although later on the galaxy teams have Victorias that can OHKO a +160 meta pretty easily. Meta at least has a fighting chance though, and her death helps the team.

People always seem to forget that Victoria is just a small step behind Duke in terms of both offense and defense, but with vastly improved utility.

Both have very powerful always-on DR (Vic is 30% +15%) and both have enough offense to overkill anyone in front of them. Vic is a better ball holder thanks to higher reflexes and her TB killing players who try to steal from her. She also revives and buffs her line when attacked or attacking.

The number of players in the game who are a threat to her can be counted on one hand.
