He's right though. It was literally impossible to catch some survivors who knew the infinites, and the infinites were on every map besides sheltered woods. It may have felt like a better game at launch but if today's survivors played launch version you would not catch a single person. Also the only killer that countered infinites was Trapper, and sabos+small game made him useless too. Trade off was shadowborn being amazing and noed lasting forever once the gates were powered, but that didn't mean shit if you couldn't stop them from reaching the infinites.

This was a long time ago, but rank means nothing for killer since it's practically impossible to lose a pip if you're actually looking at your screen. The fact that he's at least Prestige 1 Trapper at the time is more important. That being said it was probably around when I was rank 10 or so going for my second rank 1.

Rank 20 people actually check lockers because they still think they're good. Eventually killers kinda ignore lockers mostly because they're "bad" to them. Which makes them good.

Survivor rank is only special if you do it without the meta or infinites. Even then the pallet Town meta only gets you bold points so you still have to get 5k elsewhere. The solution is easy
If they destroy your hex, if you find another dull totem you can reactivate your hex.

Its not a perfect solution, but it gives counterplay on both sides rather than having a dead perk slot for the majority of the game because a survivor spawned on your totem

To give a little more detail, I practically take the bold category out of the equation if I can help it, so I get very few points there. And due to my careful movements I don't get a good opportunity to unhook people often, and even when I do usually someone else just comes sprinting up with the killer in tow anyway.

So a lot of times the game to me is to just repair gens while never being seen, and escape hopefully also without being seen, because that's how I get most of my pips. Most of the time I'll sit on the line to give the killer two free hits unless I've got a true 0 bold point game goin then I just leave.

I'm still hoping you get some form of points for stealth eventually. I'd prefer something like every minute you go undetected you get an amount of survival points, and as you remain undetected for consecutive minutes the number you get on the score event gets higher.

Wasn't me, but here's the problem with over doing traps at hooks. Sure there is a big reward if you place that many traps and they all get popped, but there's just as likely a chance you'll just waste time for no reward.

Survivors love to huddle around where a hook area waiting for a save. They're going to hear you place that many traps and just say "fuck it" and leave.

I've left basement hook for 15 seconds, come back once they saved and this is what I get.

Sometimes its beneficial to not camp and come back once they save.

I leave the hook but generally comeback near the end of the phase transition because survivors always go for the save then

It's a perfectly valid strategy and its worthless now.
