Also, all of those effects create a chain and would be considered to activate simultaneously, meaning none of them would miss the timing anyway, since the last thing the gamestate recognized was the card(s) being sent to the graveyard all at once.

I actually agree that Strike and TT need to be hit, probably to 1. With TT around, no one plays any other kind of S/T removal except for budget reasons. Strike needs to go to one like Warning because it hits summons and monster effects. It doesn't cover every kind of summon, but killing monster effects is a big deal. While we're on the topic, Dimensional Barrier should go to 1 or be outright banned. It kills decks that rely on one ED summoning method for an entire turn and being able to negate effects on top of it pushes it straight into broken territory.

Upstart Goblin basically allows you to play with a 39 card deck with little to no downside. When it was at 3, this meant a 37 card deck. Lets talk about those numbers.

Lets say I run my deck's ace playmaker, Shiranui Solitaire, at 3. In a normal deck, and without considering searchers, I have a 33.76% of drawing it in my opening hand, going first.

by running a single upstart goblin, my chances are now 34.52%

by running three, my chances are 36.16%

And this is true for ANY card you want to draw, with similar effects. The whole rest of your deck has a slightly higher chance of opening cards that you can make plays with. If you can afford to spare a single card deck space, then there is no reason NOT to run this card.

Now when it comes to maxx "c" i dont really get what you mean. by saying you dont want to see it, are you saying you dont want to draw it, or that you dont want to play against it, but lets go back to math.

With no searching, a card at three has 33.76% of being in your opening hand

Two copies yields 23.72%

And only a single copy is only a 12.50% of drawing into it.

How many copies you are allowed to run can DRASTICALLY change the odds of seing it, and if its a card of note like Maxx "C" is, I can assure you those huge differences indeed matter.

For the former, I don't are for Upstart because the small percentage increase given by reducing the deck size to 39 doesn't help all that much. You could run another useful engine piece, S/T removal, board wipe, etc instead and find more use out of it most of the time.

As for the thing about Maxx C, I was referring to when I told (who I assume was) a different anon who said Maxx C should be at 0 or 3 with no in between. If you don't want to play against Maxx C, then having it at 1 is better than 2 or 3, regardless of how "sacky" it is.

I disagree, and its the same reason I want Vanity banned. With only a 1/8 chance of being opened, I cant plan my deck on getting around it, but sure enough, it will pop up around about 1/8 games. Its infuriating. There isnt much else spell and trap removal does RN unless you go first and have it set. It doesn't stop D-barrier, and a lot of decks simply dont run traps outside of the solemn brigade.

But all of this aside, I think max C is fine at 2. I really hate anything being at 1, since it just makes it crazy unreliable. I mean, in casual matches its fine, but an unsearchable card at one is going to be useless in nearly 7 out of 8 games.

I personally think Maxx C is fine at 2 anyway. I usually side extra S/T removal for the reason that I may run into cards like those. I fully expect most people to be packing the Solemn Squad because no one wants to let anyone play. I usually tend to play monsters with built in removal as well though, so I don't worry as much.

I primarily play Shaddoll variants and maindeck 1 Dragon and sometimes MST/Twin Twister just so I can trigger Artifacts on my opponent's turn if I draw them and no Sanctum.

The thing is, Vanity and Dimensional Barrier, the likes are broken. They are cards that by itself can decide games. As much as Maxx C is a pain in the ass, it isn't exactly stopping you from taking the risk and attempting an OTK right there.

Vanity is either you have some destruction or something strong (thus wasting your BP in it) to get rid of it and D Barrier is the situation asking if you actually have a way to play around it. Most of those times, you won't have something or will die a few turns later due to the domino effect that card triggered

If Spellbooks can go first and set up Jowgen with Fate set along with anything else, they win. Nekroz do best against decks that abuse the extra or special summoning, which Spellbooks don't do much of. The only time they really SS is off of Judgment, the rare use of Life, or if they go into one of their situational Xyz. Djinn lock doesn't do shit to them and Fate outs it anyway. Wouldn't the Water Statue be a better choice due to Wind Witches now being a deck together with Invoked? Also, how do the big amount of ATK boost cards work out for you? You have a low monster count so there's a big chance of you drawing them without a monster to boost right? I recently started playing the deck and I main my Banishers just to keep my monster count higher. I've been fucked over by not drawing any monsters quite a few times.
