A clan of 4-5 shitters who grinded to level 50 in 2 days raided every t1 base including mine which made half the server leave.
Just when finished my new mountain fort more people left the server, this morning there were 8 people online when even during the mornings there used to be 20-30.
And now I cant get into the server while it does show it as online so now there is literally nobody in it.

>Basically, yes, I got level 50 on Deghomesh and was involved in the community, it came down to a clash of Roleplay styles, one half are the usual pedigree of Roleplayer you'd find here on Darknest, para-RP, IC actions IC consequence etc. The other half seemed to come from other survival games where 'RP' is VOIP based and generally not all that depthful, the term being thrown around was 'Light RP'.

You really shouldn't start building anything until T2.

This game is a rather simple survival game, but it does a shit job at conveying the simplicity to the players. Players should feel ultra vulnerable until they can build T2 (creatures being able to destroy structures help fix this, though), and anythign above that should be for players who jsut want to raid and be dickholes. However, raiding needs to take far more effort than building. Just like the real world, cunning should be rewarded and no high levels. By cunning, I mean being able to exploit weaknesses in a player's base and not exploiting bugs in the game to farm explosive jars.

Really, the game just needs to get the simple raiding shit balanced and solid before doing anything else. I have no idea what the fuck they were thinking of when introducing those op as fuck gods. Goes against any sort of decent game design.

Yea, but the point is that players shouldn't want to build anything out of T1. Small shitshacks are ok, but building some sort of mini shitshack manor should be out of the question. T2 really should be the standard building material.

The ultimate in deception is to build a T3 shack surrounded by T1 walls. Make sure you have all the basic shit such as a blacksmith, boxes, and tanner inside the T1 false hut. No one bothers to break down T1 walls so your T3 good stuff will most likely always be hidden.

First server died because it couldn't stay up on one weekend and was riddled with lag, so pretty much everyone moved on to Hyena. In fact, Hyena eventually had a population of around 30 online at its peak (some of which were not /vg/), so the community was definitely not split. Eventually, Hyena died from drama. The community never was really divided over which server to play, with the exception of the individuals who went to 185. When a server went to shit, someone created a new one and people went to the better one. The community isn't necessarily split between a bunch of different servers, it's that quite a few people just don't play the game anymore.
