I did a Soul Strike Chinsol Occultist in Perandus. Used fairly mediocre es/eva hybrid gear and a 5L and got to something like T10 with. The biggest problem was having enough damage but since you can't use Drillneck I tried to do PB Blast Rain with Empire's Grasp.

There's probably better ways to do it but Soul Strike also got nerfed in the patch after I did it.

Maybe a Windripper based ele build would be more efficient. You could use chain LA for pack clear and Barrage or BR for single target. Easier to get crit too.

The Vertex is also a top tier helmet for a hybrid es/eva build.

I fucking tried. I logged into standard on my old EQ slayer and tried mapping with a conc effect in place to mimic the new changes. It's intolerable. Even on Slayer, the AoE ascendancy, it feels way too bad to actually play more than 20 minutes or so. Especially when you realize 2.6 is going to be even smaller than just socketing a conc effect.

I was thinking going with a FULLY (very important) physical weapon and Elemental Equilibrium + Mastermind of Discord if you go Elementalist.

I really want to see what they did with the Weapon Elemental damage nodes in the Ranger area though, if they made them closer to the Witch I'm definitely playing that build.

There isn't any reason to stack aoe now, at least not from items. Almost every source of aoe on items was unchanged. The best choice is to either use one of the newly buffed skills like blade flurry and blade vortex :^) with no aoe on anything but the tree and eat the loss from the overall nerf.

You don't pick up AoE increases you don't have any more AoE than you would in 2.5 if you don't count the couple skills which base AoE got buffed. If you pick AoE you get less benefit from it leading to wanting more of it to have a reasonably sized area.

Before patch you could do Cyclone with just Inc AoE gem. After patch you'll need to get more AoE from gear or the tree or find some way to get more weapon range to have a similar range.

You forgot the 1.0 point decay each 24 hours. So people buy MTX and while checking them out get a bunch of great drops. Then after a few days it goes back to normal and they feel an urge to buy MTX again to get back that cool feeling they had trying out their new stuff.

It's not really hard if you go Daggers. With a white Demon Dagger and no investment you start with 10% chance. A few clusters get you easily around the 50% Mark. Can use a Power Charge on crit support if you want it to be higher.

You can also ignore Crit and just go Elemental Overload, it lasts 4 seconds so you don't need anything for it to be constantly up unless you are very unlucky, even 5% crit is enough.

It's basically wheter you want to trade 40% MORE damage for +multiplier and status effects.

The later needing a lot more investment.

Scepters are a good choice cause they get innate Elemental Damage.

I'd still go dagger tbqh, they're the closest physical clusters the Witch can get, just ignore the crit nodes. Those or Claws. Swords aren't THAT hard to go for though, it's only a few nodes down Ghost Reaver for that big Sword Cluster.

Combined with the 2.6 100% conversion that wild strike does it should be great for the build. There's probably some shield that's more useful than DW though 2x Doryani's would be pretty good too I'd imagine.

If you go CI going with a shield allows you to make the transition earlier since it's easier to get a decent amount of ES with it.
