Final Blow refers to the attack you do on an enemy that's downed/on the ground.

Grapple is the attack you do when they are standing and weakened.

You want Damage From Behind. The Twin Sickles set you can get (Kingo's Armor), which is easy to get once you do get access to it, will give you a lot of these bonuses.

Otherwise, pick up the catwalking scrolls and general 'stealth' stuff. Pay a lot of attention to the 'grapple' damage on weapons--Katanas tend to be really good and even get a MYSTIC ART that gives more damage from behind. Finally, hope you luck out and get 'STEALTH' on an accessory or armor--this can show up as 'STEALTH FROM HUMANS' or 'STEALTH FROM YOKAI' and in the game basically means that the enemy won't notice you until you're right up on on them, allowing you to sneak about even without sneaky ninja magic.

Ninja Skills are all very good. I suggest trying out a little of everything.

You can really hose humanoid opponents with the bomb you set on the ground, as they'll fall, you can stab them, then plant another for them to hit and fall again.

So it might be the placebo effect playing its mindgames, but after doing fifteen runs on Mitsunari via the quit to menu method, I did the thing where you connect to co-op to refresh your revenant set.

So I killed a revenant, loaded in another revenant set for good measure, and then on my 2nd attempt on Mitsunari I got his sword text.

So RNG may be linked to your current revenants. If you're having trouble getting a boss to drop shit while doing quit out farming, consider reloading your revenants and then giving it another shot.

Hey /ng/. I'm pretty new to games of this sort. I played Bloodborne for about 10 hours or so, but I never found a weapon that I felt comfortable with, and the game was really frustrating for me. I'm absolutely loving Nioh so far, though. Are there any other games with combat similar to Nioh? Do you think I'll be better at Bloodborne after I play Nioh?

There is no real NG+. You're not starting a new game and carrying over your character, you're just unlocking a new difficulty version of the map.

The first three regions have every mission unlocked so you can do it in any order. You fill up a mission completion bar to unlock further regions.

Not really. You'll need fist Talismans and later Carnage to do real damage and not make it just tedious, and even then it's pretty tedious, and you'll need sacred brushes out your ass to keep up. Human enemies are alright with the parry but anything else is just a slog. It's kinda fun for co-oping when someone's having trouble with a boss and you just bust in and punch 'em to death, but I can't see it being anything but boring for a solo playthrough.

every weapon has the same scaling stats. they never change or go away, but that purple Change to Attack stat adds an additional scaling stat that seemingly works the exact same way as the normal scaling

Is it possible to check what gear your host is wearing? I just finished a coop and my host was wearing full obsidian with axe in what I presumed was a "Hulk" build. Nigga took attacks from Dark Samurai like nothing and when we cleared mobs he absolutely smashed them like bugs.

I really like using axe because of Heaven and Earth. Still haven't found a humanoid that has stamina left after trying to block that.

Going to Demon King Revealed or Ghosts of Sawayama and using the sake that increases amerita earned.

You'll need:
1. Two magatama that both increase your Amerita earned when using living weapon (Should be 20-24%ish)
2. All of your gear to have at least 1 "Increased Amerita earned" in general special effect.
3. The armor set that increases special effect effectiveness when in critical condition (I think Fanatic or something, but its important whichever set it is)
4. The skill in the axe tree "Cornered Board" which decreases your damage taken when your health drops to 30% (Which increases living weapon durability)
5. A high onmyo skill is also reccomended (like 30 or 40 or something) because it directly affects your sake's potency and the potency of your amrita talismans.
6. Btw you'll need those two amrita talismans in the omnyo tree.

You go to either mission, let yourself get damaged into the critical level, then pop your living weapon.

Your "Health" will still remain critical even though you're in living weapon mode, and you still get the increased special effects percentage from that. So you'll be earning 40ish% amrita plus another 30% from the armor.

When you combine that with the two amrita talismans, one that gives you amrita when you hit (so you never run out of living weapon), and the one that increases your amrita guage multiplier.

You wind up with a FUCKLOAD of Amrita by the end of the mission if you keep your living weapon up the whole time.
