Ok, why didn't Kaito knock out or even kill Ouma before letting the press crush him?

The cameras were down anyway and anything he could've used to kill/knock out Ouma (a blunt object, a knife) could've been tossed under the press and crushed along with his body with no way to recover it (given they never lift the press again anyway). It seems less cruel to knock him out or kill him quickly than to let him get slowly crushed. Sure Ouma agreed to it but Kaito could've easily done it out of mercy since Ouma was so weak anyway.

Come to think of it, Ouma could've killed himself while on the press while the cameras were down and Kaito would still be voted the murderer as he pushed the button and there was no way to know if Ouma was already dead by the time he was squished.

How do the remembering flashlights work with Kiibo? Clearly they do some sort of mindhacc, but I don't think you can do the same kind of mindhacc on both humans and robots. Unless TDR just remotely downloads the memory onto Kiibo using his antenna or something.

Additionally, Tsumugi says the flashlights can only layer on more memories and not delete any. Considering Kiibo's original programming is left untouched without the antenna, does that mean he has his pre-game memories when he's flying around blasting shit up as they clearly weren't able to modify them to the same extent as the human characters?

I don't think they could really change his "base personality". My personal theory is they reset him to remove his memories, bullshitted memories of Iidabashi into him, and dumped their modifications onto him. The ahoge probably just layered on a simple personality/non-violence onto him, like the mindhacc for the other characters. I feel like what Kodaka revealed in chapters 5 and 6 turned Iruma's entire character into a plot device. The only way to fix this is for him to do Ouma's POV novel to make Ouma and Miu's partnership actually make sense.

I hope this happens. They're both well liked characters if that popularity poll is anything to go by, so there would be a market for a spin-off that focuses on either of them. It'd clear up a lot about their actions, particularly Miu's, of whom we never get a non-biased account.

Yeah, in the first place a major problem with the story currently is that you have scenarios like this:

Chapters 1 - 3: Ouma and Miu bicker and it gets more and more lewd
Chapters 4 - 6: They were partners and made a lot of inventions never seen on-screen, also said inventions are super useful and of course Miu's dead so only Ouma can tell her side of her story.

Ouma's intended role by TDR was most likely different than what he actually turned out to be, and they probably didn't expect Miu to be as useful/proactive as she was. They wouldn't have predicted a partnership.

Miu was obviously made to be super lazy given her fixation on sleeping and hates doing physical activities in dating mode. She oddly likes dodgeball though. They also made her main focus lewd, random crap that wouldn't be useful. And then you have her attitude that makes others not want to work with her. Her partnership with Ouma would've been very unexpected and it's likely Tsumugi didn't know about it, or at the very least didn't know how far it got.

I don't think she was intended to be highly capable. She was meant as a fanservice character that took care of her camerabot. They supposedly nerfed her hard with the personality they gave her, but didn't count on her cooperating with Ouma.

Maybe they had planned to work together to end the game from the beginning.
Both of them would put up fronts for their personalities to hide their true intentions. This ended up driving them away from the rest of the cast, though.
During this time, they decided to wait out the game for a good opportunity to use the inventions they had stockpiled.
By chapter 4, something went wrong, maybe their partnership was discovered and Miu was influenced by TDR to kill Ouma.
Unable to continue preparations, Ouma is forced to make an attempt to end the game using the rest of Miu's inventions and his own life.

They're both very childish outcasts with piss poor temperaments. They both go on about how they could never be friends but there's a lot of similarities between the two that could inspire some form of connection, especially since they both wanted out and had necessary qualities that the other didn't possess. Certainly something very suspicious about everything they did is that it's kept completely under wraps and we can confirm Ouma had the intention of either outing the mastermind or crashing the game completely from the first chapter.

Final PTA with Kibo. I'm pretty sure I heard Miu's VA, but they were likely just reusing VAs there to save money. Her voice did stand out in later phases of it though.

I'm perfectly fine with neither coming back, but I feel like bringing both of them back would be cheaping out.
If we had to bring one back, I would rather we get Miu to tell her side of the story.
It'd be interesting to see how her explanation proves some parts of Ouma's and throws others into doubt.
Even better, have them tell different stories where we can't figure out who's telling the whole truth.
