Because BV is just so absurdly powerful that the dev who created it openly admitted in an interview that it was a huge mistake. And if you add poison and double-dipping shenanigans, it just gets worse. Then you're dealing with broken mechanics dealing absurdly high damage being raised to an absurdly high exponent by other broken mechanics.

The last major nerf they did wasn't nearly enough. There is no salvaging the skill at this point. It should really just be dropped from the game in 3.0.

I only play true ethical SSF hardcore. I delete every meta unique I find because it is unethical to keep it. When my character dies, I delete every item in every stash tab because it's not true ethical SSF hardcore otherwise. I Vorici break every six-link I land because it is unrealistic to ever six-link an item in true ethical SSF hardcore. I skip the Labyrinth because Ascendency Classes are unethical powerhouses. Every time a Vaal Orb drops, I immediately use it on a randomly equipped piece of gear to increase the challenge. I've had global chat and trade chat disabled since I got my beta invite back in 0.9.2d, the Merveil fireball optimisation and curse duration patch, because player interaction gave too much advantage. I've sent at least 84 emails to GGG support over the years asking for unlimited ignore player space so I can make sure that no one talks to me when I'm in town. I read and listen to every lorestone, notes, books to fully immerse myself in the true ethical SSF hardcore experience. Every time I go into this general and read the word "meta", "trading", "blade flurry", "clear speed", "Headhunter", so on and so on, I make sure to thrust my giant vibrating dildo one to three times to punish myself accordingly for tainting my TESSFHC experience. I've stolen at least a dozen credit cards from my parents to pay for the 3,250 normal stash tabs that I have to show my support for GGG and the true hardcore game that they have developed. It deeply saddens me that PT left, he was the only one that spoke only truth. Why do you self-proclaimed SSF hardcores even try to pretend that you're truly SSF hardcore? You make me fucking sick.

Looking for some input, sorry for the wall of text.
Idea for new league: MoM Hierophant.
3 health pools; First all dmg to ES, which keeps regenerating with ZO and maybe ghost reaver so that at least some dmg is always taken on it.
Then all damage is split 60/40 between Life and Mana. Will invest a lot into mana as it gives both the mana itself, and flat ES from hiero. So new addition of mana nodes behind MoM will be nice, if they're large.
The node that gives "semi-5Ls" gives free 2% LL on boots, so socketing heralds there could give leech on secondary herald effects, without increased reservation. A large amount as well, for spells. Main skill in head for extra pen maybe, or put into a pledge of hands (for dat mana and free echo, with solid spelldmg). Or is it a waste to not use damagedealer in head when already speccing that ascendancy? Maybe ball lightning-CoH-2xcurse in gloves for the free aoe, just to make use of it?
Ideas on other gear?

-What skill to focus on? Some cold or lightning spell I guess, ideas? Is stormcall still good? As I'd likely use both heralds, I guess the most effective would be Added X damage of the element that the main skill is not of, to keep both types high enough to trigger any shocks/freezes? Or am I better off focusing completely on lightning so I can run wrath for the %more?

-Other defenses, worth bothering with any sort of block, evasion, armor etc or just focus on ES with a build like this?

-Crit or Elemental overload (to save points on not speccing crit while still getting a bunch of damage)? If EO, worth speccing a little into shock/freeze chance, or is that a waste? Even if I'll only freeze trash mobs, at least it'll trigger HoI secondary.

Basically, I haven't played a caster since arc was hot shit. Except for a character I tried playing up with ice nova a league or two ago, then realized vortex was basically the exact same thing but better, but only played that char to lvl 50 or so in the end.

Because SR applies a -fire res debuff.
Also with a 100% conversion, it means you get the full benefit from both increased cold damage and fire damage, making jewels a lot easier.
Sometimes people will list Izaro's turmoil with good rolls for way cheaper than it should be because they don't know that the rolls make or break it. One with perfect rolls is a 50% damage increase.

I made kind of build and well, it's kind off like retarded children, require lots of effort buts its also lots of fun. Raider ascendanc. Atm I wanna try 1 of guardians, but I'm not sure which.

Ranged bow char, life based, IR. Not much more than obligatory def with 13k of armor, AA, and dodge/spell dodge.

I did pretty nice against colloseum darreso with it and I got butraped by xoph. So I guess heavy ele attacks are the worst for it, then spells (better s. dodge than dodge) and it physical attacks are least dangerous. I'm 5-6/10 slilled average sc scrub, I', good with kiting and suck at flask management.

So which is best to start for my fella? Ima gonna do my homework in wiki etc, some advices apart of that?

Also, do not ever use AoF for burning vortex. You're better off with Hrimburn or Pyre (nerfed) + CtF so you can still use Ele Weakness. Hrimburn doesn't let you stack the ash debuff + flammability, but automatically applies EE which isn't affected by boss curse reduction. Pyre + CtF will probably be the highest potential ele DPS, but Poison Vortex has the highest because you can stack poison and double dip with Void Manipulation. You can also use a 4L delirium helmet which is basically as good as a weaker 6L (30% more ele damage that should now properly double dip if GGG fixed it).

I never got the complaints about not getting maps before, as I in the past always managed to get to at least T12-13 very easily, and only then starting to struggle slightly but still constantly making progress.
However, in breach I ran into a wall as early as like T6 somehow, kept chaining strands, that I basically just alched and ran with whatever mods I got (only rerolling those with no packsize and low quantity). Yet barely sustained my strands, and got like one castle ruin per 5-6 strands, with no return at all on those. Really strange. However, I wasn't in maps early enough to benefit from breaches dropping maps, as that was nerfed right before I started mapping. But the droprates should've been the same/similar as last league.

Yeah, Zana helps a lot in the beginning, if you manage to level her up quickly enough to get a few mid tiers as early as possible.
I always run rares unid when I find them rare, as there's often challenges for that anyway, and the bonus is always nice. Though I never run unid blues for anything where I want some returns, so over T6-7 or so, just about any rolls on a rare will give more quantity after all. Though it might be useful early on before you start getting confident in your build/gear.

Well I get 140 int anyway for enfeeble. The AOE is irrelevant for three reasons: you have enough AOE with just an inc aoe, and I'll be a lab farmer so AOE doesn't matter. The third reason is that I would put warchief in marohi since realistically I'll only have a 5L marohi since 6L isn't worth it, and I would rather have EQ in my 6L chest so the AOE doesn't even benefit clear.

there were actually multiple bugs, the more damage per BV stack applied to poison and double dipped with it. the biggest one that is still active until 2.6 patch is multiple BV stacking. basically you put another BV in your 6 link and it counts the 20 stacks for both blade vortexes, essentially making that second BV a 100% more damage support gem.

SRS is great. You get a +2 staff as soon as you hit dried lake because of The Flora's Gift, which will pretty much carry you to yellow maps. As soon as you get your 6-link +3 you can do guardians.
