As someone who uses her, Meg is surprisingly usable, but hardly good. Like pretty much everyone else in the DB, her growths are all wrong (she wants to be a Troubadour, with her highest growths in Luck and Speed) and her caps (and movement penalty for being armored) don't help matters. Her claim to fame is being the only real sword armor you have, so she's your only armor who can use the defense-boosting endgame swords.

Just rest assured that there are worse investments you could have made.

Merric is almost just as tanky vs physical units and can actually deal significant damage back. The only scary blues and greens in the meta are Linde and Hector and he deals with those reasonably well. They're both getting 1 turned by a red anyways in this 1/2 turn meta, unless a +6/6 on Hector is really that important. I've lost units in all my games that I've tried it though.
