Skoda isn't terribly mobile compared to tanks like the cromwell or a-43. And to say the gold round is good is hilarious considering it's one of the very few vehicles in tier 6 handicapped by having a HEAT gold round.

There are plenty of tier 6 meds that way outclass the T40.

Those have higher mobility but have nowhere near the fire power especially the A43 which has poor pen even with gold.

Like I said the T-40 is probably not outclassed by the VK 30.01 P since that now has turret armour and a better gold round now. But that would still make it 2nd best.

AP: 145mm pen
HEAT: 200mm pen

A-43:

To say these vehicles lack firepower is ridiculous considering they have more dpm and better pen values than the T40. The T40 even arguably has a worse gold round considering that it's HEAT which loses shell velocity and has issues penetrating anything that is not a flat armor plate.

The Skoda T40 is large and lacks the mobility of other tier 6 vehicles. The only way it could be stronger is if it had a better gun, and it really doesn't.

Could have potential, but I don't think the armor is enough to justify the loss of mobility, the front plate doesn't reach the threshold required to bounce 150mm which means you'll still get shredded by the plethora of 140-150mm pen guns at tier 6.

Probably a decent seal clubber but without the mobility of the real top tier 6 meds it'll have a tough time making a different when it's not top tier.

i can already tell you took aggressive spots on maps, and simply got spotted first. you should have moved after you got initially spotted, because arty pre-aims there and anything first spotted becomes the hyperfocus of any autistic spg player
the first two positions, i can see that you took very aggressive and relatively unsafe, stationary stances and that explains your death to arty
the last position was very forward, but your location indicates movement. you probably got removed by an overpowered arty with low aiming requirements while in a bad spot

In the cromwell I was doing the classic scout move on encounter Malinovka where you poke the ridge. I did that because of the team composition (try to spot enemies going up the hill so TDs can get them). I wasn't stationary.

In the Firefly one I went to my favourite spot (faces the enterance to the hill on Mines) where I've never once been hit by artillery. I didn't even know artillery could hit that spot.

In the T-34 one I was just trying something new. Wasn't expecting to get ARTY'D.com on for a third time in a row. It was actually kinda comical that it did happen.

Literally how to be useless to your team if you are not top tier. You might as well be playing a light tank at least then you would get the camo bonus.

Looking at it now the VK 30.01 P definitely out classes be cause it has also got a HP buff I didn't know about. However the Skoda T 40 is still very good and it hardly lacks mobility when it has 50km/h top speed and 17.48 hp/t with equipment on.

The A-43 is definitely a polarizing tank. But your point of contention was that it has poor pen with gold which is wrong.

Something like a cromwell or VK30.01D will turn circles over the T40 because they have the acceleration to turn themselves over to positions where they can change the game.

I played the 30.01P and while it is very strong it is handicapped by a very poor traverse speed which forces you to commit to a flank.

I can tell you don't have much experience playing the game because you cite HEAT round being better as a result of not losing pen over range. In reality this benefit is very small because rounds don't actually lose much pen over range right now. HEAT has a harder time against targets with sloped armor because of lack of angle normalization and the fact that hitting tracks neuters the round. It is actually worse to fire HEAT at certain targets than simply firing regular AP.

For a medium I would say that HEAT is better. When you are fighting a heavy tank in a medium generally you want to do this from range where you peak a boo from cover to conserve your hit points. In this situation you are mostly to be faced with the front the tank. HEAT means you can keep full penetration in this situation and generally wont be dealing with spaced armour. If you are forced to get in close with a heavy you will be attacking its sides and rear so can just fire regular AP and pen fine.

I believe APCR is better suited to heavy tanks since they are fighting up close and personal and light tanks because they have the mobility to circle bigger threats but usually have lackluster pen. I don't really like my SPIC having HEAT.

The A43 does have poor pen and premium pen (156mm) on the only gun that is useful outside of tier 6.

Faster tanks will be better at smoking it TD or resetting the cap but I believe the Skoda T40 is the best general purpose tier 6 Medium.
