Basically the same as neopets in most aspects
Differences include-
Mods are slightly less nazi on the forums
Human Avatars are a bigger thing than they should be
Now onto what you asked-
There are definitely pets and there is a battling system.
There are minigames puzzles and quests, they give much better rewards than neopets ones usually give out. There's even a quest that gives a godly weapon for completing the final level, but those final levels usually end up costing hundreds of millions if you aren't lucky.
Interaction depends on what you mean there. There are trades and shops, also restocking is a thing like in neopets.
There are frequent events, though most of the lore has to do with the society of zombies or pirates
