How do you get people to actually use the vision you placed? Stalled out in mid plat so I've been trying to do more support stuff instead of relying on dunking my lane every game with Brand/Lux/Blitz, results have been mixed. Mainly because I can't get people to play around the vision I placed.

i play similar champs im only plat 1 but desu some games are just not winnable as support. sometimes your team just throws and doesn't pay attention, especially in plat elo. all i gotta say dude is if you're playing support correctly you'll keep climbing, even if your teams slow you down. if you want to make a pick, spam ping assist me, it makes most people go "oh, my support is about to cc someone i better go dunk them"

also, if your team is making a decision to do something while you're trying to set something else up, your best bet is to always just join their asses and spam ping them back. sometimes bad calls turn into good ones when your enemies missplay and sometimes you just gotta roll with your team's decision to be stupid ass monkeys

How do I improve my general game knowledge and decision making?

I'll sometimes be watching high elo streamers and they'll be like "Well, I just finished X item and I saw Y enemy on that side of the map and I know they don't have Z summoner up so therefore I know I need to be doing exactly Q" and I'm over here like pic related

It's almost bronze players deserve to be in bronze.

Brand is borderline retarded as a support. His damage is ridiculous even without items, his laning phase is disgusting, his teamfight is excellent, and he brings heaps of utility with Rylai's. He fits fine with your comp. He's a support that's also a tank buster with %health damage out the ass. He's a great pick, especially since he's been paired with another disgustingly strong laner in Caitlyn.

keep watching pro players, listen for things they complain about to learn from them.
for example, i watched imaqtpie leash a blue the other day while the enemy jungler started on the top side of the map, he complained about how the enemy bot laners would push his lane because he had to leash and they didn't, and it creates a huge advantage for them by forcing minions into his tower. he was just complaining, and it seems like an obvious thing, but not something that you would normally consider, because bot lane usually leashes in almost every solo q game.

Game sense comes naturally the more you play. You'll realize what does and doesn't work each game, and what does and doesn't work for the enemy team and how to counteract what they'll try and do. It's not something that comes quickly but I found the easiest way to get to that point is to play simple champions or just focus on one champion. There's much less intake if your character is fairly binary, so you can spend more time figuring out what you should be doing on the map instead of how to animation cancel all of your spells with auto attacks.
