Alright /xivg/, you're my only hope. I went to /v/ and /wowg/ first, but in vain.

I'm trying to convince my friend to play Legion instead of FFXIV. I don't think FF is bad, I'm just so invested in WoW that switching to another MMO isn't feasible.

I know everyone here prefers FF, and I don't begrduge you for it. But isn't it pretty similar to Legion? If you like one, shouldn't you be fine with the other? Not talking about endgame raiding or anything since he's a low level and probably won't want to do that anyway. Also, can you grief players much in this game? He loves that.

It's pretty much nothing but grinding at end game for both, although crafting for FFXIV is better

Complete weekly hunts and check party finder for Hunts. Most importantly, after weekly reset is when the S ranks respawn, usually a party forms in party finder and they run across Eorzea killing them. Some people even work toward the ones that only spawn under specific conditions.
Pain in the ass but shouldn't take too long.

Dun Scaith is pretty damn good, and also has one of the thematically best climactic fights in the game so far so look forwards to that insanity. It also kills people in droves so there's the comedy option too.

I was lucky enough to get a Deathgaze victory wipe last week. We defeated him during his Aero and Blizz agagaga IV routine with the blocks and the shoving, but we'd defeated him just as he was doing the air shove and the ice blocks he dropped despawned.

PvP was always screwed though from what I remember, you basically had to start very early in the season or you would be forever outgeared and had a hard time climbing up (even finding someone else to queue with used to be hard in wrath if you didn't play on active pvp realms).

To be more exact KR and CN don't actually pay a monthly sub.
They pay for game time in hours, so a jump potion makes sense for them.
It doesn't make sense to charge $20-$30 for both a level jump potion and a skip story potion that both have to be bought separately when the game is being charged monthly.

So I just now realized that the accuracy cap for A12S is barely above or at 700, while I've been using the Accuracy-boosting Shire fending chest thinking it was something like 750. Which means I now want the Creator chest.

I feel black mage is a bit more fun because of the effort and reward it takes to really optimize the rotation when handling mechanics, summoner is pretty hilarious if you intend to pvp and it's really good in dungeons and raids as well, but it feels a bit unsatisfying to me often times

MCH is mostly all about the burst. The burst being when your Wildfire is off cooldown. I couldn't tell you what the best MCH opener is because I don't do it and mostly just throw the kitchen sink at shit in dungeons and still rip aggro off the tanks.

Basically you do a ridiculously huge opener with Wildfire at the start, then just keep your damage buff and DoT up, use both your reloads all the time, hope for some procs and wait for your next Wildfire to happen (it'll synch up with some of your cooldowns but not all), at which point you do a bargain basement version of your opener. Repeat till the enemy asplodes.

If you have to move around a lot because of any mechanics that require dodging that last for longer than a standard cast time just toggle off your Gauss Barrel, then throw it back on afterwards. I guess. Some people swear by mass toggling and others say it's not really THAT necessary. Go with what you can handle.
