You can update to 11.3 just by going into system settings and update whenever you feel comfortable to do so. Just make sure luma is updated first and make a backup if you are paranoid. Also going to 11.3 will also break homebrew launcher but you can fix that by downloading the right files needed for 11.3

So I'm a little confused between mocha and haxchi. They're both different CFWs right? Why would you pick one over the other? It seems like haxchi is mentioned more in these threads, so I assume it's the go-to choice?

Additionally is getting an emuNAND up and running standard practice? Ever since a9 came out 3DS hacks Seem to recommend against having one. Is it different on the Wii U?

The thing I think is that for haxchi you need a DS VC game which most people don't have so they have to buy one, it's only 7 bucks for permanent offline access to an entrypoint so I thought it was worth it. Imagine if they launch a firmware update and block the browser like they did on 3DS? Bye bye browser exploit at that point, people without an offline sysmenu exploit would be locked out entirely.

I've been following 3ds.guide like a good boy and I'm up to https://3ds.guide/installing-arm9loaderhax
Everything has went fine so far but I'm at Section VI - Finalizing setup, step 13 which is "Launch the Homebrew Launcher from the home menu"
When I do the launcher gets to "The homemenu hopbin is ready" but then kicks me back to the home menu, saying an error has occured, please save your data, restart your system.
I used the cia in https://github.com/yellows8/hblauncher_loader/releases/tag/v1.3
as instructed.

Reposting from the last thread because I still need help. To recap I accidentally deleted fbi, trying to launch homebrew results in an error, and luma updater says configuration not found.
I was told to use emunand9 to format the sd and manually update luma, which I did and that didn't fix my luma updater or anything. So if anyone has any advice it would be greatly appreciated.
