I am new to Tigers and just had my first proper game. Sinai. This is completely different than with the F2. I got hit once from the side and it only damaged, not even destroyed, my track.
Then I got strafed by a plane.
Apart from that, nothing happened at all. I shot some dudes in Shermans and T-34s. It was really nice.

Nope, significantly worse. Bombs follow a predictable ballistic trajectory with minimal variation. Strapping thrust behind your warhead magnifies any disturbances in trajectory and completely ruins any kind of acceptable grouping. German dive bombers were pretty good at slam dunking RDX through a turret cupola so they never felt much of any urge to vary things.

You can definitely skip the 17/217. They're good for pointless fun, and that's about it. HS129 excels at exactly one thing, and that's killing ground targets once you unlock the 30/37mm cannons -- and even then it's iffy because Gaijin fucked with penetration on those rounds. Don't expect to use the 129B3 in any serious capacity. 410s are kind of asthmatic, but some of the later B models and the B6/R3 have enough firepower in the nose to skullfuck anything that tries to head-on you.

Il2 1946 can be played online with pirated copies, and that has been the case since about forever. Last time I checked the game wasn't dead as there were still at least 6 active servers. Cliffs of Dover costs like 10 euros. In both of them you don't need to do stupid gamey shit such as grinding.

I just unlocked the La-7 tonight but haven't gotten the chance to fly it, but the La-5's just get better and better. the FN is fast as hell and turns great, climbs great. At 3k meters and below there's no plane that even scares me but once you get high up the plane shits itself as you probably know from the regular La-5.

Slav and German side armor is generally thick enough that you can angle pretty well and have to actually flank )))) to pen it. Meanwhile most burger and teeb tanks have side armor so thin that even angling your front armor slightly means shells will slice right through your side armor. I've been killed by ZSU-57s in my M48 punching through my side armor at an almost horizontal angle.
