I know I know I should git gud, BUT FUCK MAN! I lost 2 close games because they got revenge fuck just take it out for 1v1!

Any way to improve framerates in this game? In duels/brawls my game performs flawlessly but in Dominion/Elimination, shit starts getting hairy. I don't even have to be looking at any major shit on the map like the tons of fires or hordes of soldiers in the midfield and my framerate will shit itself. I was fighting two wardens at an objective and backed into a corner, and there wasn't really a whole lot in my field of view but yet my framerate took a dive and it made me die. Frustrating as hell

Headbutt is one of the only safe openers for free damage in an otherwise pretty defensive game. Mix that in with decently fast lights, a full block stance, throws that carry people miles, hyper armor on some attacks, and a guaranteed upper heavy on a GB with no wall toss.

Conq can compete with him just because shield bash is another super safe opener, as well as getting free GBs off of blocked attacks without even having to parry.

Warden's vortex is actually nowhere near as good as Conqs. You can safely exit Warden's by just back dashing twice.

Also, when going up against Conq and Warlord, Warden's fast attacks can get pretty easily countered by reactive full blocks from the shield classes. Take those away, he's got pretty much no tools outside of the basic game mechanics, and his crushing upper, which can be avoided by not attacking upper unless it's confirmed by a previous action, like a GB.

Question why is Conq so fucking strong in duels? I've been wrecking anyone who comes in my way, I know he's a strong defence character but even when I just drop all my defences and go aggressive nobody seems to handle him.

I've had Rep 5 Wardens, Orochis and Berserks call me cheap, but they all play like you'd expect them too which makes it like reading off of a flow chart.

Nobushi got several comboes, and you need to learn them all, mix them up and keep your enemy on their toes or you lost.

No, a conq will only ever heavy attack because it does 2x the amount of the light and lights currently allow you to be be GB without counter on block.

Thus it leads to the scenario of: bash into heavy, heavy into bash, etc.

Even superior block heavys are easy to parry, which makes a rather large perk of the class rather useless.

YOu do not have the same power as a warden, who can force 50/50s with shoulderbash.

It just feels like my reach advantage is meaningless as the opponent can just walk forwards at me, focusing entirely on defense, and then force me to retreat and start fresh. If I'm not careful, I back into a corner and usually die.

Fighting game term. Basically, you get combo'd and put on the ground. You know on wake up, you're opponent is going to do one of three things, and you need to counter it. However, you don't know which of the three things they're going to do, so you have to guess. Guessing wrong results in you getting combo'd again, and put on the ground again to repeat the cycle.

Warden parries you, GBs you, and then goes into shoulder bash stance. Your options are either eat the shoulder, dodge and get GB'd out of the dodge, or dash attack and possibly have the Warden feint the shoulder and parry you. If Warden gets it right, he hits you with two more lights and you repeat the shoulder guessing game.

Technically it's not a vortex, as Warden has to predict your actions and counter, plus you can get out of it by just backing the fuck off, but it's a close enough term to illustrate the cycle.

Whats the skinny on lawbringer? I've can't stop playing him yet against foes who can parry on 1st/2nd hit of combo regularly I find there's little I can do except hope they can't tech GB or shove/poke + top light poke to death.

It feels like I just spam shove all day and hope they get hit by the subsequent light/guardbreak. I know about the shove > long arm > light slice but that's hardly enough to win a game.

I have no problem with people playing however they want to, gangbangs or ringouts or whatever because if I wanted a duel I would go to duel mode. I actually wish less people had "honour" in fucking 2v2 because Brawl just coming down to a series of duels is a lot more boring and less intense than it SHOULD be if you fight a real 2v2.

Well, let me rephrase. LB is awful in duels, but somehow becomes top tier in 4v4s. His kit is really based around being a bully: moving people around and donkey punching them with a blind or unblockable if they're not looking.

In a duel, your options are really just to chip your opponent down with the basic fundamentals of parrying and getting confirmed hits. LB has nothing that really combo's together. Even his shove > GB can be teched, and the over the shoulder toss can be dodged by just sidestepping.

I always try to bow to people in 2v2 and 1v1, maybe elimination. Both before and after.

I do my best to not join gang bangs, unless it's dominion/skirmish. In 2v2 and Elimination I happily stand on the side lines and cheer.

If it's a bridge map, I do my best to not toss people off. If it's a "normal" map then I'll punish them for getting too close to environment hazards.

Because of this, the 50/50 is very easy for Conqueror, as forward dash > GB is just as fast as forward dash > shield bash, it will beat side dash attacks quite regularly, which doesn't happen with Warden

You still get untechable parry if you both go for it at split second intervals, usually the first one gets grabbed and cant get out, this wont change (usually called a technical throw in fighters)

Fun fact: There is actually Tech throw SF4 style in For Honor, if you grab each other at the EXACT same time both grabs cancel each other out, however this is extremely rare, but Galahad recorded it during stream about 2 days ago.

your top r1 is fast (even by some other heroes standards) and can be surprisingly damaging. Lawbringers biggest problem is that he cannot fake out a guard, since his stance shift is so slow, don't even bother. The top light can stuff several heavy attacks, so abuse that into a chain if you can.

Know that your shove have armor, meaning you can eat an attack during it, use it off of an unexpected dash to get into any combo from that.

I just battled some dude who was Level 3 Lawbringer and Level 1 Peacekeeper.

After every battle they would quickchat say 'Good fight!' and 'Wow!'. They never actually typed anything.
