Resogun didn't look that much of a leap up if I'm honest. Infamous is the only HDR game that to me personally seems to benefit greatly, but I haven't tried UC4 and people think it's the best HDR showcase. I've been playing Nier for the past 8 or so hours and there literally hasn't been a good boss fight yet.
The combat is boring as sin too, they just dump a dozen or so of the same enemies on you over and over and over again, and there's no visual or attack variety in them. Why even bother letting Platinum handle the game Taro if you're just going to make them forget everything about their game design?
The soundtrack is fucking awful - you literally hear the same 2 minute long song for like the whole fucking game; I'm genuinely considering muting the music in the settings and putting my own music on because this shit fucking sucks.
The only good thing is the story I guess, and that's pretty mediocre since there are next to no cutscenes. I guess the fact it targets 60fps is nice, but there are a bunch of framedrops when stuff gets demanding, and the price paid is that it looks only ever so slightly better than the first game.
I cannot stress how disappointed I am, yet somehow now I'm not surprised it got greenlit anymore since it was clearly on a shoestring budget.

Except it really does. The problem isn't that the enemies look similar, it's that they are the same enemies. There's no evolution in strength, you are literally fighting the same enemies one after another; Calling it repetitive would be an understatement, there's just as much variety in the game as there is in the fucking demo.
