And fighting games players can do it too, except the games had much smaller bases and are much more fragmented so it's harder to keep a community as big. I see so much bitching and moaning about the current title, but they do nothing about it except bitch and moan like capcom is magically gonna go "oh man this guys right". Those same people hit you with the "we bitch and moan because we love the series and want them to fix it/make it better", but fail to realize that the company doesnt give a shit and doesn't love you, at this point it doesn't seem like capcom is going to change the way theyre going with the game so the only way to show them you dont like the game is to not play it and play something you do like, go revive usf4 at your locals or go play 3s or st, host your own tournaments, or play some other fucking fighting game that you enjoy

Nakoruru is fine, she's just not top 3 anymore and Love Heart went from high tier to mid tier according to most but she's basically the same character with no real tangible changes, the only people who suffered from Love Heart nerfs were people who played her stupid. I sure did and basically I don't feel like those are real explanations. The guy says Kim is strong because his close range is great, which I don't really think it is, his far D is great, which I don't think it is, and you can mash EX Hangetsuzan "like in 13" which you totally can't because that move is shit now. Basically the only thing Kim has going for him in XIV is he has tons of ways to confirm into MAX, but every single tool he had from XIII was nerfed and in a lot of cases made super shitty. The only thing EX Hangetsuzan has in XIV is that it's fast. It has a terrible hitbox that will lose to everything in a game where everyone in the world is mashing stand B. Far D is a lot shittier too, it has a worse hitbox and much worse frame advantage, the only thing the move is good for now is the free confirm into MAX. He lost a lot of his meterless confirms and his damage is pretty shit overall compared to most characters, he has a hard damage threshold that he can't get past unless you dump tons of meter on him which no one else has to do. I simply don't get it, and I was a Kim player in XIII.
Gang Il he says that his meter building is great and his mixup is great especially with his overhead. But who cares, Gang Il has the worst fucking normals ever, he doesn't even have very good MAX confirms or damage, he's basically a scrub stopper. I don't see how the matchup is any annoying to play once you know how to fight him. If anyone on your team has good pokes Gang Il is fucked. For instance, there is no way in hell I see Gang Il beating Daimon ever, and no one ever considers Daimon that good of a character even though I think he's a fucking monster in this game. He cannot close the distance against anyone and he is not going to outpace anyone in damage ever, his meter building is good because of stomp and shit but I don't get how his mixup saves him. He feels like XIV's Shen Woo to me, everyone said Shen was amazing until people learned how to play.

Capcom has no idea how to balance this game, and I'm saying this as a Urien main.
Something that rarely gets talked about, but the damage in this game is too high. You can destroy 1/3 of a life bar with a simple bnb.
You still can't rematch as player 2 in local play.

A fighter is pretty much rock paper scissors because the lack of options force you to play the guessing game, while MOBAs are like a game of chess with its phases and strategic intent behind every move.

The last time I put down earnest and hard-working effort into a game was back in DMC3 and 4 when stylish videos were becoming a thing.
By the time I got to the point where I could start posting my own, the stuff was pretty much just old talk and everyone moved on.Similarly this happened with me in LoL where it took me almost 2 years go get to diamond but now that I'm there it doesn't matter at all because no one cares about ranks anymore.
I'm also one of those people who doesn't see the value in losing in a high-competitive environment. If you're not one of the best then you're a nobody and there's simply no way I could get to that kind of level in fighting games especially since I only started getting into them 2 years ago.

It seems you're doing all that stuff for other people and not yourself, learned a game to make videos for other people to watch, no one watches so you stopped. Ranked up the highest rank in a game, but stopped caring cause no one cares about your rank. You're doing all this shit for approval or some type of validation, thats not why you improve in things, you improve in things because you want to get better, for yourself, you want to look back at your old replays or whatever and say "Man how have I improved, better keep at it".

Find a game you like, or just a hobby in general, stick to it, and do it because you enjoy it, do it because you want to get better at this hobby or game, I read a book about art once, and in it it mentions something the along the lines of "If everyone in the world disappeared, would you continue making your art?" Apply that to whatever you enjoy, and if you answer yes then you truly enjoy it.
Also, you mentioned you were diamond in league, why not try to join a team and play some amateur circuits? That's a really dumb question because what would be the point in life if there is no one else to share it with. That kind of existence would be completely pointless.
As for your other stuff.
It's hard to get good at something when you know there's no reason to do so. It's difficult to motivate yourself or even care about something that no one else does.
Humans beings are social creatures and we ineptly base our own worth and hobbies off of the usefulness and intrinsic worth that it gives us and to other people.
What I am getting at this is, yes. You're right. I can sit down every single day of my life and play DMC4 until I pass out from exhaustion and try to be the best there was. But what will it amount to in the end? Nothing I will not be rewarded for anything no recognition. Fuck I won't even FEEL like I accomplished anything when I become the best because it's not like there was much of anything to work for to begin with.
It's that idea and thought alone that drives people to and away from things.
Do you think there would be nearly as many people trying to "git gud" at SF:V if it wasn't marketed as a massive Esports hype game? No. You think that LoL would be anywhere where it is today without Esports? No.
Competition and the notoriety with it and the goals set to get there is what makes something fulfilling to a person.
If you proceed to do a useless hobby/career because it makes you happy, you will eventually run out of oil for yourself and when you look around for outside motivation you will see that there is nothing there to support you or even give you a pat on the back.
That's where I found myself with DMC4 when I was able to almost do a perfect run in Bloody Palace. I eventually got bored with the game and when I went to forums and videos to try and convince myself to go through the grind again I found nothing.

I guess we just have different outlook on things and there's no convincing you. I don't find it very hard to care about things no one else does or get good in those things, many other people don't either, don't get me wrong its nice to have other people to share and play your games with, but that shouldn't be the main motivator in my opinion. Look at brick, he fucking LOVES Melty Blood and puts in all this effort to update the pastebin, get people to play and all this other shit, despite no one really caring.
I don't think esports is what motivates people to be good if they enjoy the game though, what motivates people is to be the best and play the best. Look at all the older games, people got good at ST despite no "esports money", people got good at 3s, people got good at CS 1.6, people got good at dota 1, there was no money in those games or "esports" in those games, it was just passionate players wanting to compete at the highest level.
Don't get me wrong, everyone wants recognition for what they worked hard for, but that shouldn't be what fulfills you as a person.
