You have to put a custom font file in your install directory, then rename it to whatever the standard font is called, can't remrmber. This has to be done every time after the patcher runs, so most prior so want to use custom fonts have a simple script to do this.

Not really, but you can create a font file which is just an upscaled version of some other font, then use that.

I'm not sure what the fuck it's problem is, but sometimes it'll start randomly disconnecting and reconnecting every 30 seconds for an hour straight, making the internet 100% unusable while it's sperging out.
Seriously considering 'downgrading' back to the old cisco modem I had before. Sure, it might not be able to hit the same upload/download speeds, but that's still better than not being able to connect to the internet at all.

I use deployment shield to camp enemy sunderers.
Even more effective with the deploy shield buff. Park it nearby with dual kobalts and just go to town on the planetmans. If they don't kill you within the first 30-60 seconds, they usually never kill you because you start spawning friendlies to help out.

The outliers only drag the edges of the bell curves out - if you were really concerned about it you could drop off everyone outside 1.5 standard deviations of the mean, but it's barely going to change the general position/area of the chart covered by the bell curves.

For an arena shooter it might be acceptable, but for an MMOFPS losing the bulk of players will kill the game entirely. The "elite" players who need people to farm will quit when there's nothing but small numbers of other elite players.
The last thing planetside 2 has ever needed are virtual pay2win elements increasing the skill gap between the average player and the above average player.

Ironically, it isn't. In F2P games, only a small amount of players spend any money, and only an extremely small amount of players spend a significant amount of money. So, as a general guidelines, focusing on those players is a good strategy.
Of course, in PS2 it's slightly different since the game isn't instanced and low pops make the game shit (i.e. even whales will leave at some point), but the main point is still valid.
If you were using "SOE live audience" as a synonym for """"elite"""", then you are completely wrong, because a majority of the attendees were just average shitters that happened to have some money to throw away.

The average planetman's skill has no bearing on balance, but balance still depends on the average planetman. The reason you're doing better as VS is that VS players are better at the game.
The reason VS players are better at the game is that they had to be. When the game was first released Vanu were really glaringly underpowered, and Vanu players had to get good to avoid being slaughtered all the time.
NC players are the worst because they've been OP form the start. TR are a bit better because they were shit too for a long time but they've been getting buffs for years now and this has made their players less skilled.
Vanu are slowly getting to a place where their gear is getting competitive with the other factions. Coupled with Vanu players being better at the game, you die less often and do better on Vanu because your teammates are more useful.

I do sometimes also wonder if it's the proportion of good players. My success in battles is directly related to how many decent players on the enemy team are there and how many we have. NC I tend to farm quite easily no matter what, TR are mostly crops but then you run into a good player and there's a decent chance the killstreak is over, the vanu have crops sure but way more good players that makes farming them a lot more difficult. Generally speaking in any battle it's the same 1-2 people that actually do kill me.
I mean I know this is all copypasta but there's little hints of truth there.

Right now, there is only one class that can be invisible. That's infiltrators. Only infiltrators can cloak, but all infiltrators can cloak. This is important because the ability to cloak is an EXTREMELY large and important game mechanic. The ability to cloak isn't like the ability to ADS. You don't need to explain the ability to ADS to a new player because it's in every single FPS game in the world(Please don't be pedantic and find one where it isn't, you look like an ass) and it's well understood

the new cloaking implant would be annoying as fuck for regular players, and wouldn't make sense at all to any new players we get.
Even then the cloaking implant isn't even the worst one, the movement speed bullshit is. Suddenly all chinks/hues/cykas are crouching around at full movement speed while warping all over the place using crouch recoil rules. wtf is banana man doing?

Eh, you'll get used to it. Interestingly enough, if you keep playing this game, you'll find yourself routinely getting accused of wallhacking in other FPS, simply because of how you need to develop decent awareness in order not to get stomped in in this game.
