Also, just a little side thing, but holy shit have they changed stuff. Not sure how I feel about the skill hotbars, they definitely add more engagement than just clicking once on an enemy but they also feel kind of clunky.

Ultimately it's up to you. Members have received a shit ton of content since the last time you played, both for high and low levels but some people might prefer to use F2P to get a good feel for the game's basics and in order to decide whether or not they want to subscribe (Keep in mind that it's possible to sub using ingame currency now)
I'd say you should do all the F2P quests first and then upgrade.

EOC (The name of the new combat system) can be a bit clunky, especially at lower levels where you hardly have any abilities unlocked. If you don't feel like manually activating every single ability you can turn on the Revolution mode which essentially just queues your basic abilities.

The grey'd out thing sounds like "the path" which was something like a tutorial but not, that jagex never really gave a fuck about, I can't remember how the fuck you turn it off. The page in the thing is under the tab that looks like the quest tab but isn't, if that helps.

For combat, got to the wiki page for revolution and the combat academy in lumby to learn to into the new system.

Finishing the lumby tasks and most ftp quests is what most people recommend before going members.

Also go to gameplay settings > general gameplay > legacy interface skin if you want the customizable UI with the old look, or other legacy esque features.

On one of the gamejam streams Ramen (Dev behind the updated lumbridge crater) said the beach event still would be in the crater. I assumed that they'd leave the crater as it currently is in the live game until after 2017's beach event where they'd update the area afterwards, but I guess that isn't the case.

I wonder if they'll just temporarily put the old sandy area back in during the beach events or if they'll cover the entire area in sand since one of the advantages of NXT supposedly is that they easily can cover areas in sand/snow

so uh.... I was mining clay last night at 30 mining and the entire process was automated. Like how fishing or woodcutting works, it just automatically mined the clay until full inventory. Because that costs money. You'd have to pay salary for like 3 people to just do that constantly, hopping worlds and to different botting hot spots.

Also a lot of these bots pay for membership (with bonds) so they'd be spending money to lose money.
Not to mention according to Mod MatK the OSRS team is under pressure to perform better financially, OSRS membership and bond sales is still dwarfed by RS3 MTX and the board of directors is constantly discussing ways to increase profitability.

Don't disassemble everything. Figure out what materials you want, and disassemble the right things.

Hellhounds aren't great, GWD is better, but honestly just keep things augmented and train it through slayer by either disassembling at 10 or syphoning at 12.

Honestly, I don't try hard to get average kill times of 01:40-ish, and that's not with end-game gear (no T90, no sirenic, no augments, no RoV swap, no replenishment/adren pot).

So I'd say it is very easy to get a sub 2 minute kill.

The 8m/hr sounds harder, but I can sort of believe it. The way I do it equates to 6.4-6.8m/hr from runemetrics. So I could see all out endgame pushing that up to 8m/hr, but that'd probably need 01:20 kills or so.
