it's pretty stupid how archers act in this game. leading would be good in an out of formation scenario, but ideally you could instruct all your archers to volley fire in a certain area like how archers are actually meant to be used.

This is me. Literally me. No other character can come close to relating to me like King Harlaus. There is no way you can convince me this is not me. King Harlaus could not possibly be anymore me. It’s me, and nobody can convince me otherwise. If anyone approached me on the topic of this not possibly being me, then I immediately shut them down with overwhelming evidence that King Harlaus is me. King Harlaus is me, it is indisputable. Why anyone would try to argue that King Harlaus is not me is beyond me. If you held two pictures of me and King Harlaus side by side, you’d see no difference. Surgery 10 means you generate a field of biorepair nanites with your mind that stitches together mangled and dismembered soldiers on the spot. Wound treatment 10 means those soldiers are ready for the next battle almost instantly. Pathfinding 10 means nobody will ever escape you.
For INT builds to pay off you need to be slaughtering people all the time without ever stopping.

Yes. If he is wounded when the fight starts, you get nothing. If he gets wounded during the fight, you are fine.

Most people don't go for full STR because it's kind of overkill. Power Strike/Draw 5 is decent for killing when you eventually get top tier gear.
You could go for the standard CHAd build.
15 STR + whatever AGI + whatever INT + 30 CHA for max leadership.
In this case you would make some companions skillbitches, each one with all points dumped on INT to get those useful skills. This >>168968870 applies though.

The player and companions will naturally gain proficiency as they engage in combat. Even with 2 WM you can still pretty comfortably hit 250-350 weapon proficiency. It helps that damage; which power strike and strength improve, helps with proficiency gains.

Yes, surgery affects all friendly troops.

Whenever you initiate battle the character with the highest effective surgery skill will apply for the duration of the battle. This means three things:

1) If the person with highest surgery is the player it will always apply the player's surgery (as surgery does not work with auto-calc)

2) That a companion's surgery will continue to work after they get KOed in-battle

3) If a companion is critically injured their surgery skill will not apply

You only suffer negative morale when killing troops of the same faction culture. So for example: Your Rhodok troops will gain a negative morale modifier once you begin killing Rhodok troops.

So long as you don't kill an excessive amount of life faction troops the negative morale modifier won't be a problem. If the game goes on long enough these negative morale modifiers will likely be inevitable anyways due to lords defecting to other factions.

Easy fix: Increase archery proficiency of all archers, increase accuracy of all bows to 99, increase arrow damage by a large margin, reduce the amount of arrows per quiver, and if you're advanced enough, reduce the amount of archers for recruitment in party templates for all factions. This way, that cheese tactic becomes more dangerous for you, while making your own use of archers more tactical and less braindead (extremely lethal for short period of time, use them wisely at the right time), and also makes the enemy archers in general more deadly to face in combat, making the game a bit harder and therefore more enjoyable.

Since you're clearly playing the generic knight archetype, just buy a siege crossbow and use it in sieges. Also a 2H or a polearm unless you're a massive shitter that can't block.

I personally run 1H/2H/Lance/shield, you may want to bind each weapon slot to switch to what you want.

t.b.h. I found the damage received to player way less important then I expected it to be. You either can handle the blocking, or you get swarmed or outclassed by some 300skill fagget and you'll be beaten to pulp even at quartet damage because there's nothing you can do.
Similarly with the damage to units, your light cavalry will be obliterated by pikemen no matter what you'll set it to.

I mean, yeah, sure, there is the difference when the fight is mostly equal, but it's not as big as the 50%, 75% may make you expect.

I set it to 1/4th when I play as a Chaos Lord in Warsword Conquest. I actually find that getting swarmed is... impossible really. My strength is so fucking high along with weapon proficiency that, coupled with a mace that deals 60 piercing damage, nothing survives.

What if TW isn't working on BL?
What if they footage they presented was running on a dead engine? They never developed anything else but the scripted siege and the one battle on a single map? Some streets, some faces without expressions, 2-3 artwork pics. BL will never come and the only reason the hired a community manager and a hobby programmer was because they won't to tilt the infinite amount of modders playing warband.
They don't want modders to make a Mount and Blade reskin, running on a free engine.

My entire point is that mobility means you survive longer, but it doesn't mean you are killing things faster. Sitting on a horse surrounded by quality troops is still going to get you knocked on your ass, you have to be moving to get the benefits.
Nothing does more damage more quickly than a soldier on foot wielding a good two-hander.

I'm using a two handed high tier Great Axe with 53c and and I have 7 powerstrike, not sure what proficiency, and sometimes the heavily armored guys can still tank a shot. I'm not doing anything wrong on my end, good armor is just good armor.

Also you are actually better off with a one hander on horse considering your two hander gets a 23.5% damage penalty and speed penalty for one handing it. Unless your riding around at decent rate, which once again just means you are killing stuff slower.

The fastest I've gotten a town is ~80 days, which was by stealing it after it was flipped and then becoming a vassal so I wouldn't get fucked for having 0 RTR.
The first time I played I got to day 400 and only had a village and was like level 20.

I didn't think I would need agility and charisma this early in the game considering agility is only for shield + horse archery, and I don't have the ability to make loads of money & win battles so it's pointless to upgrade my army size. Can't be too big where I can't catch anything and get caught, so I went for quality but it's taking bloody fucking forever to train troops, and I keep losing my cavalry.

How do I make sure my cavalry that follow me don't get caught and die easily when I go for a charge? They keep fucking dying, especially when I try to circle around the enemies while picking them off before they charge into my infantry.

I think troops near the top spawn first, so you might want to bump your man at arms up.
You have no archers - iirc militia can go either archer or footman. Since you're doing Horse Archery (HA), it's no problem to do a one man Cantabrian circle and distract the enemy as your archers shoot them in the bum.
It's true that swadian cavalry f1+f3 is popular, but you seem to have trouble getting enough for that to be effective.
Might want to put one point in AGI just for 1 extra weapon master.

Basically if you don't have the proper companions such as your healer and scout, then you're fucked. Isn't companion hunting a pain in the ass since you're not really making money, or fighting, and you're just going town to town searching for them? Weapon Master is not useless. It's true that you can continue to push it up just by using the weapon, but higher weapon master makes it increase faster. It's particularly important with bows since proficiency helps accuracy too (I think).

Early tier archers aren't particularly good, but they kill the enemy without risking themselves. Basically every bandit has some kind of ranged, so if you do infantry only you are kind of at a disadvantage. If you distract the enemy yourself by running circles around them, the archers can do a whole lot.

Yes, managing companions is a pain. If you're not going INT it's probably best to be nice to Jeremus until you have a replacement in another companion such as Lezalit or Artimenner.
