All of the people who have been playing for a significant period of time are walking around with accounts that apparently have been abusing bugs? I think using magic has its utilities like freezing/binding people or teleblocking them. But you need to hybrid with that though.

Ranged is pretty good if you can get off an unexpected high hit with dbolts/dbow ect.

Melee is just your usual whipping people around. Maybe you could pk with dharoks?

For pvm, melee is cheap and ok, ranged is low cost too and you can safespot, magic is usually very expensive and not worth it unless you are slayer darting dk's/barrows. Or if you are really rich, blood/icebarrage dags for slayer.

Triangle is def important pvp - I think the discussion was mostly PvM/PvE.
In that regard I'd agree with your points. Magic is only really useful for particular niches such as when AoE is relevant (such as PC pre-pointcap patch). In those cases I'd say its pretty good.

Yeah, prayer consumption wasn't too bad with flicking, 4-6 ppot does per 4-5 runs plus some lobbys. Near the end I started using more ppots so I could use Chivalry vs Ahrim and Karil but it wasn't that much more since the prayer drain from faces scales with the number of brothers alive.
