All classes play like rogues did in vanilla.

Use primary resource (energy, mana, runes etc) to generate secondary (combo points, maelstrom, chi, runic power) and then spend it on more powerful abilities.

There are some exceptions like warriors who use FREE abilitites to generate rage or classes which play around procs.

But basically they all play the same.

Pretty much. Gearing is easy and takes no time. Leveling is easy and takes no time. Raiding is merely a numbers game and always has been. Before people who were dedicated and took the time to level and gear were rewarded with spots in high end raiding guilds. But now that you dont need to be dedicated anymore the only thing that matters is having connections and dick riding your way into a core spot.

DH can tank and Vengeance got some nice buffs and it's great at reddit+ spam with friends if you have those that is.

DK can tank but blood is boring as fuck and relies solely on your cooldowns to actually feel like you aren't a useless fuck spamming death strike.

Lock is no where near it's enjoyability in WoD let alone MoP, but it performs well enough and each spec has uses, as a result of blizz just throwing number buffs at the class due to how JUSTed they are until next expansion pre-patch basically.

Mage is okay, fire still works and is fun to play, frost is GOAT ST if you somehow get everything needed for it. Arcane idk about but better since patch

The burning legion (Kil'jaeden specifically) created the scourge by fusing Ner'Zhul's soul to a suit of armor and turning him into a hivemind controller for zombies, who would be created by cultists that the legion influenced to spread the plague for. The scourge, led by ner'zhul's top bois Arthas and Kel'Thuzad summoned archimonde so that the legion may take the power of the new well of eternity and conquer azeroth, but the legion failed. The scourge's power had grown out of kiljaedens control and so they plotted to betray the demons for awhile. Arthas even told Illidan where to find the skull of gul'dan and how to kill tichondrius, robbing the legion of a powerful artifact and a brilliant leader. They hate eachother now.

The Scourge and the Lich King were created by the Burning Legion in order to cause war and strife on Azeroth because they knew they couldnt overwhelm the forces of the Alliance and Horde at their full strength. The Burning Legion is much more dangerous, because as of right now we have no good way to perma kill denons. The Scourge and Lich King are still an issue though.
Illidan and Kael'thas, along with Lady Vashj, were trying to stop Arthas way back in Wacraft 3 because Illidan got caught by Kil'jaeden on his first escape to Outland and was ordered to destroy Icecrown Citadel before the Lich King could be unleashed and go rogue. He failed though, and was presumed killed by Arthas in a poorly rendered cutscene, but survived and retreated to Outland where he was being sieged by the Legion during the time we were also seiging him.
Illidan has, for the longest time, wanted to just destroy the Legion at any cost to him or even others around him. Hes never really been evil, but hes not the best of guys. Malf and Tyrande just banishing him didnt help him though. He worked for the Legion briefly to try and destroy Arthas and Icecrown Citadel, and was also given his Demon Hunter powers from them during the War of the Ancients.

Well essentially a commander of the Burning Legion created the Scourge, by trapping Ner'zhul in the crown to create the lich king

Legion is essentially a group of demons and their worshippers, lead by a titan by the name of Sargeras. Now this guy is considered to have been corrupted by Fel magic, the magic of demons, due to his duty being their jailor. He then proceeded to kill the other titans due to the titans weakness to fel energy.

He wants to destroy Azeroth and all life in the universe due to the existence of Void Lords who are essentially the antithesis to all existence. Now either due to our planet still having old gods, or simply due to our being alive, the void lords are able to send their ilk into our universe. So Sargeras wants none of that business and has decided Azeroth needs to go

The legion isn't a wh40k faction that wants to destroy everything. It's sargeras's personal army to destroy the void lords. look at what they did on argus; they attempted to deceive (peacefully, but still evil) everyone onto their side. velen's draenei declined so that's the only reason they were attacked. The legion doesn't go into planets guns ablaze, they try to recruit you first. They're basically mongols. On azeroth too, they simply asked the night elves to use their well to bring sargeras over, and their queen said yes.

The fact that they "shatter" the boundaries of the planet so that they can interact with the twisting nether is basically the worst thing they do.

Ya Azeroth has a titan soul in its core, which is still sleeping and has yet ro be awakened and is susceptible to corruption from the Old Gods and Void Lords. Saergeras is here to wipe out all life and corruption on the planet to save the titan soul from further darkness. So hes like Illidan but even more extreme now.
If Azeroth the Titan were to awaken though, itd be a being of immense arcane power strong enough to destroy Sargeras and maybe even fight the Void Lords. The titan soul is also where we get all magic on the planet I think.

The Death Knight order hall campaign has shown that Bolvar is becoming very active in his plans and very very suspcious with his motoves. Visions of Arthas appear for Death Knights that tell them that Bolvar may be subtley putting the entire Order Hall under his mind control to eventually use them for his next big scourge war. Its even speculated that he sends you on a suicide mission to ressurect the fallen DKs and put them under his mind control since they otherwise would be free willed from the Lights Hope fiasco. He even says at some point in 7.2 that if you were to canonically die during a mission he gives you, hes just gonna raise you for his own motives. DKs are pawns to him. Hes planning something big. Bolvar is likely going to be heavily involved in the conflict for the next expac.
