What I'm really worried about is that Nomura's gonna include both his patented stilted dialogue, as well as his passionate war against expansive environments.

FFXV (and even to an extent FFXIII) showcased that characters could speak natural English and that linear connected rooms could be massive enough in scale to make us ignore the invisible walls, but I have zero faith that Nomura will do either.

Nobody really knows what Nomura was talking about when he explains the two seasons.
What we know for a fact are two things:
1. Season 2 will have three new worlds, which are Castle of Dreams, Enchanted Dominion and a completely new one.
2. Season 2 will focus more on Ephemer, Skuld, Ventus and the two unknown characters from the 1st Anniversary (KHUX) artwork.

We also know there were time skips in the story of KHX which may are may be not filled by KHUX.

The current status is that we might have already started season 2 of KHUX, since Castle of Dreams is complete now and there was another side story with the 3rd Anniversary (KHX) event characters.

We still haven't reached the point of the Keyblade War yet, but maybe this is completely intended and season 2 is more of a midquel.

2. Why did mickey say the door was to kingdom hearts. Kingdom hearts is in the realm of darkness, that was just the Door to darkness, the DtD like kh2 said

3. If riku got out by following sora's heart, and mickey followed riku, why couldn't aqua do the same?

4. Why did mickey act like Aqua said "I'm going to sacrifice myself so don't tell anyone about me or try to come back!" she just said, "I got these heartless, go on without me!"

2.8 really made this make sense to me, actually. The door itself IS Kingdom Hearts, in that it's an artificial creation just like the moon in KH2. Except in this case, KH was made out of the hearts of the Worlds rather than the countless hearts of People. As the worlds fell, they coalesced into a door to the darkness. Kingdom Hearts.
Fortunately, Sora and Mickey were able to seal the door. And when they did, Kingdom Hearts disappeared and the worlds that had been consumed were freed to reform. Otherwise, the ending of KH1 doesn't make sense. Why would the closing of some ordinary Door to Darkness cause everything to go back to normal? It doesn't make sense, unless the Door itself was made of those very Hearts!

That was actually a door to the Realm Of Darkness, and Ansem thought inside lay Kingdom Hearts, the source of all hearts and absolute darkness. But the joke is on him because Kingdom Hearts is light and when he forced the door to open (and free more darkness) even more he got a glimpse and couldn't take it.

Closing the door Sora and Mickey stopped the influx of darkness and the hearts of the worlds of freed from darkness clutches. Heartless are hearts manifested in darkness, so when there's no darkness they can return to their original place, hence why all the people returned with the worlds.
