Accessories can get it, they can also get improve critical effects.
It can only be reforged onto chest pieces.
But with divine gear its different because it has familiarity so with some effort you can find armor effects that only appear on specific types of armor and soul match it onto all your other stuff.
So hunt down divine chest pieces with critical dmg reduction, max their familiarity and soul match it onto all your other armor pieces.

With 60%+ critical dmg reduction and 75%+ special effects critical from saoirse and fanatic set I wonder what happens because you'll potentially have over 100% damage reduction when at 30% hp

Is there any point to pumping your weapon's damage scaling stat?

Endgame weapons seems to have ~1000-1500 damage. So does it really matter if you get an extra 100-200 damage from scaling?

Why not just get minimum stat requirements, and then pump Onmyo / Spirit for living weapon shenanigans?

For example, I see no reason why people are going 99 stamina for heavy armor with Axe. It barely increases your damage, it increases all your skill points. And you're at B agility, not A.

On the big staircase before you reach the final shrine he is there on a balcony tempting me, but I can't figure out a way to get to him. Magoichi is special like Wirriam-sama, and Yoshitsugu (not Yoshida you pleb) is a wizard of some type like Kelley.

All the Guardian Spirits but the starting three are given specific reasons for joining you. Moth waifu (male) is said to be like Saoirse (created specifically by Yoshitsugu, rather than a spirit that has just attached itself to someone), so naturally would mirror his goals and ambitions. His desire was for a world where the weak would have as much power as the strong, and that didn't really line up with what Wirriam-sama's doing.

The Amrita memories note that Yoshitsugu's spirit of justice was inherited by the Sanada or something because of marriage. Obviously they weren't saying moth literally got inherited, but the implication is that there could be a similar guardian. Historically, his daughter married Sanada Yukimura. Two of the DLCs take place during the sieges of Osaka. Guess who was the primary Osaka defense leader? Sanada Yukimura.

This games loot system is very simplistic. There isnt much you can build that plays different. In Diablo and other arpgs you can do crazy shit but in here no matter what you do you still end up playing the game the exact way you did when you start it. The weapon and armor skills are all stuff like better scaling, more damage, more stamina, more stamina damage etc.

If they make a sequel I hope they get more creative and add better armor and weapon skills that alter your skill tree abilities.

I'm actually getting bored of the game and I only play it on Friday/Saturday/Sunday, that makes 6 days of playing it.

Not enough yokai to justify the length of the game and rehashing of past areas, getting tired of killing the same things over and over. Yokai should be area specific but everything just shows up everywhere.
