Don't try to parry everything, clanging them and feinting a heavy to perfect guard is often enough to get them to backstep or try an evasive strike that's telegraphed enough you can parry it reliably.

well lets take peacekeeper as an example. If she's jockying for position out at range odds are good she's looking for a chance to do the lunging stab at you.

Keep your block up, and only shift left and right if she passed through the zone she'd normally launch the attack from and tries to close, at that point check her with a light swing ( in the case of a dash up grab ) or a heavy swing ( if you think she's going to try and step out of the first dash. )

You need to keep her worried about how she's going to get in safely.

No fuck off, this is the games main massive issue. It isn't with the actual combat itself its due to the fact that 2/3 of the classes play defensively, and the other 1/3 you have to play super defensively against.

Honestly lawbringer doesn't need a lot to go up the tier list. He needs to change stance fast enough to block assassins and always use side heavy off a parry (may as well let him use all three), and he should be able to do a light off of a shove.

Here's some historical trivia for you.
Nobushi actually originates from japanese housewives, that had to help fighting when their village was raided for example.
They had to wear masks, because seeing a woman fight, would be deemed dishonorable for the whole settlement.
The Nobushi were given the Naginata, because it was used like a broom - simple yet effective. When the fighting was over and victory celebrated, the nobushi could also unscrew the naginata's blade and use it to scale and gut fish for the meal.
