Yeah, if we go by how he's a bit of a conspiracy theorist he probably went straight to his room to piece together what he's seen and observed so far.

That's why Ouma becomes more competent once he notices things like Amami always having his Monopad in the photos and that people dropped the idea of the MM being one of them after chapter 1, he couldn't do much without a solid lead no matter how smart he is.

Even so it's curious that the contradictory nature of his character means we still don't know who was he supposed to be. Not only does he share many traits with Amami, only the two of them have a chain-like accessory to their right and he remarked casually that it's been a long time since he's been in a trial in chapter 1. If that wasn't a lie or a joke, what is it supposed to mean?

A very big problem here is that you start to think Ouma has a specific tell for when he's lying, but he establishes many times that he's actually interested in the truth and the amount of clues you find in chapter 6 clearly show that if he doesn't want you to find out something you'll never know it.

So yeah, I do think that some of his 4th-wall breaking remarks and casual comments mean something especially as he correctly predicted that Kaito would die in space showing his way of living before chapter 1's trial itself. It's a pretty blink and you'll miss it moment because of how casually he says it, but to me it's a sign that taking him lightly is a very bad mistake.

The worst part about chapter 4 is that it does these three awful things:

- It renders Miu's arc incomplete since she never got to change the world with her inventions personally
- While technically wrapping up Gonta's story as someone who cares about everyone but who ends up being unable to do anything because he's stupid, that was a terrible way to go
- It virtually guaranteed Ouma's death in chapter 5, and as much as he pretended like he didn't care about the deaths he indirectly caused it had to have been nothing short of torture to him

Also bonus Kaito being an even bigger idiot than usual, with everyone else also being idiots because there's totally nothing weird about the non team player Miu pleading them to log into a completely safe place late at night.

Clearly, there are many insane dangan ronpa fans who want to live out the games in this world. I think that's the implicit assumption there- what Ouma has over Miu is having the cleverness/talent to use her inventions to get them all out, in her eyes. She has low enough self esteem to think the default is not bothering to get her out as well. She's terrified of that possibility and thus probably didn't do anything that she thought would piss off Ouma enough to break off their alliance, such as questioning what he's found.

This is honestly just my speculation, but given how you only find out how much work Ouma has been doing behind the scenes after he's gone it becomes pretty clear just how much freedom and control he had, way more than he ever let even the MM on.

Ouma didn't know he was a camera though. He literally only found him. odd because he was a robot trying to pass as a human and under what circumstances would something like that ever be needed? I finished it yesterday, but I have a couple of questions before I start playing DG2
how many deaths were actually deaths? some of them felt more like "passing out and leaving the player to decide". the bio lab supposedly contains 9 bodies, but we only see 1, the impalement, other fridges could be active without actually having a body in them, or am I overthinking this?
speaking of impalement, is it ever explained how mukuro's head exploded? was she beheaded, had her head replaced with the bomb and when toko tried to unmask mukuro, the bomb went off?
is junko actually human?
was I supposed to feel sad during the Alter Ego's execution? it was just a program and everyone knew it was a suicide mission. I honestly felt more sad because of sakura's death

overall, I enjoyed the game and can't wait to start up the sequel
