Construction was actually super useful back when it came out with what you could do with it. The Portal Chamber was a big help, but now with the Lodestones it's useless.

Also no way in hell is Construction worse than Mining and Smithing. The inherent flaws each one has is responsible for the other being so shit.

Mining and Smithing have uses and they are a lot less annoying to train because of how afk and easy they are. Multi-ore rocks have existed for years like the living rock caverns and lava flow mine and even disregarding the regular afk smithing that has always existing, there's the Falador artisan workshop that people love because of how afk it is, have you been living under a rock?

Construction is completely useless today, even the gilded altar has been outshined by cleansing crystals and the chaos altar.

But the biggest reason why its being reworked is because the whole system was built entirely around low level f2p back in 2006. That's all it is. The PK system isn't that great. OSRS is best if you're looking for the PvP experience.

No, however early game is quite slow for levels/xp.

It goes from very rewarding to feeling terrible. Depends on the amount of grind. Doing questing and adventuring with clue scrolls is really fun. It's alright for newcomers, but you should obviously read a lot of guides and such so you don't feel completely lost. But most players who dedicate themselves have already been playing for years, so most areas feel empty as fuck. It is kinda cool, but the combat system is actually pretty lame and pking basically doesn't exist anymore outside of one dude ganging up on people skilling.

No, not many bot anymore, and a lot of skills have good methods of xp gaining now, though some are still really annoying like construction and thieving. Nope, pures don't really exist anymore outside of gimmicks, play however you want. And no, you can do a lot of f2p quests and such to get yourself into the game before you decide to pay.
